  From memory when I had my pic set up, it's an option you have to change the colour of the text. So the why of it I am guessing would be mostly personal preference or perhaps on occasion to make it stand out to make a point. I have seen both iterations. Happy to be corrected or supplemented if there are lots of other reasons out there.

  Just that message was sent to you from a "platinum" paid up member. It's a feature meant for their benefit as it shows up more highlighted then the other ones..
