Pool dancing is hard...

June 07 2013

OK, so I was at the Shaft Tavern in Elermore Vale tonight with my (female) flatmate for dinner and a few drinks. I wanted to hit the town hard, she wanted a quite one. Like all women, she won.So Friday night is 'Exotic Female Dancers' night and tonight was pole dancers. It was basically a promotional thing by one of the pole dancing academies - turned out to be way more tasteful than I feared.Halfway through the set, they asked for two guys to take there pants off and give it a try (you need bare legs for grip). No-one was willing to give it a go, so I fronted up, daks down in front of the whole pub. I'm not a featherweight (112kg) but I gave it a red hot go.Boy, an I sore now - five minutes on that pole and I'm aching all over. But man, it was a hell of a lot of fun :)

Yep, pole dancing actually takes a lot of skill and strength, and it's very popular as a fitness activity for many women, with no stripping at all involved (yes they wear minimal clothing, but that's because like you said you need bare skin to grip onto the pole, and the really good pole dancers use just about every part of their body to grip onto it). Some of the best bodies I've ever seen belong to really good pole dancers, as they require tremendous amounts of strength to do the moves they do. Just go onto youtube and watch some of the videos on there, they blow me away!! I definitely want to take some pole classes at some stage in future.

I'm seeing a personal trainer for the next six months to shed there excess kilos. I'm seriously going to contact the pole dancing schools I saw and ask them if they teach men how to pole dance - It would be a really good way of developing to upper body strength I lack

I thought we were talking about the pool dancing scene in "It's a wonderful life".

I've been involved with pole dancing for over 5 years now and I've never seen anyone ask for amateur men to take their pants off to have a go. Normally they get them to do the flag or arm related moves.Very weird.
