  Google done... love it... awesome food for thought and spot on in so many ways... (especially the bit at the 9min mark where he makes a valid point some of us have commented in other penis size threads). The speaker makes a point of most porn being male domination of women and am also wondering how this fits with "female-friendly" porn... am not sure what "female-friendly" porn is (feel free to direct me to the nearest title... maybe an all girl title from the Girlfriend/XArt/WOWGirls etc etc studios? they seem more intimate than the wham, bam, thank you mam Private studios etc). I have a friend who firmly believes that "Women just want to be treated like porn stars" (his words not mine) and his wife just gives him a bland look... my advice to friends who talk on this subject, and there have been a few over the years, is use porn as a guide for fun positions, not a "how to for sex" because it just isn't enough to bang away, there must be more than penetration (yup... the speaker has the right of it).   Dead right Amicus, "It" (nearly missed that), lasts about three minutes unless a couple hours have been spent warming up for the big bang, then it can last up to four minutes, he he. What's in a minute some may say!, "fucking lots of passion", I'd say, but not many would ask what of the couple hours beforehand?, sounds boring, I'd say "Ask Tara it's female friendly".   I watched the video...I agree with what the speak has to say. I liked his opening statements.. * "It brought out in him anger and violence that was not there originally and he did not want it anymore, it was not him" * "By watching porn he took part in film prostitution and that it's no ones child hood dream." I think this is his view, as he said he wanted control over his well being and his mind, due to the fact he does guest speaking with women who have been abused etc etc and that porn is teaching boys that they should large penises, internal erections and have internal sunshine. I also agree with when he said "It's about being valued with your sexual partner" I don't watch porn as it does nothing for me..would rather human touch any day. I think as humans we crave and desire that. With the porn I have watched, I always think of the women in the movies, and think what are their lives like once the film has been shot?? Is it human Trafficking?? addiction to drugs?? Are they vulnerable? Do they live in a violent/abusive world?? What sort of lifestyle do they have?? What happens to these women when their life of filming is over?? I'm not against those who watch porn, they can. However I am against violence to those women who are human trafficked and forced into making films by greedy people who are out just to make a buck...and what does it teach those young people who watch it? What is it teaching them?? Foxy

  When I joined this web site, I didn't do it for intelligent conversation and intellectual stimulation. I have watched the TED talk and find myself largely agreeing with the points he makes. I am also a consumer of porn and even though I find many of the attitudes towards women and sex deeply disturbing I haven't sworn off it yet. (There is actually some porn that I consider is more balanced and thoughtful in its depiction of sex.) And , as uncomfortable as it is to admit it, on some level there is "truth" in porn in that there is something in all of us that is fascinated by the degradation and disgust depicted in the worst porn. His talk does not tell the whole truth about porn and prostitution. On the other hand I do worry about generation of people growing up thinking this porn i,s normal and hope that as with previous generations, most will navigate their way through this and become decent and worthwhile people. Unfortunately there will be human casualties. And women will wear the brunt of this which will make all of us in society poorer. But we do need to acknowledge the human instincts that drive the porn industry Take rape for example. Rape should not be condoned or accepted under any circumstance. Ever! And yet some women will admit to being extremely turned on by rape fantasies. And if I am totally honest I can recognise that, sometimes, at a certain point of a sexual encounter I am capable of rape. And yet I consider my self a very gentle and non violent man. We humans are endless endlessly fascinating in our complexity and contradictions. And that's why I love the forums that make me think. Wow that was heavy, even for me. You'll have to excuse me now , I need to watch something and wank.

  That was great watching, thanks for posting. The worst thing is most kids have seen hard core porn by the time they are 11 and he is right, it will infiltrate their minds and make this their norm. Again agree with him on young girls sexual self image watching Miley Cyrus & Lady Ga Ga clips. Young teen girls today have no sexual self worth. There is a trend I know of locally called lipstick parties where the girls all wear different coloured lipstick and take turns on the guys making rainbows up the length of their dicks. Great sexual self worth there....

  Good video though. Sex should never be removed from the intimacy. But i grew up with disney movies so i guess i had a good moral compass before i found porn. Porn has never been an example for me, just inspiration, a place to find new stuff to do. the fact that others consider it an example is disturbing. So is the notion that those that fail in the industry are driven to prostitution. Self worth purely as an object seems like a mental disorder to me. One no doubt driven home by external influences like glossy magazines, movie stars with nose/boob/lip jobs and men who perpetuate this by talking about these plastic people as if they are real and to be desired. Having said that, I don't pay for porn. So i don't know if that's still considered supportive of the industry, since I would be the cause of a loss on their balance sheet. I know that from now on I will be more discriminatory as to what i download though.
