  Hi there Sunrise, not for looks, it does work on increasing sensitivity in a good way and sort of telegraphs the sensations. It certainly makes orgasms better that is for sure.   I had a OO g PA for many years with 2 types of jewelry.The first was a 35mm circular bar bell the other was a short curve barbell which left a ball at the base of the piercing and a ball at the opening of the penis. Both had lots of appreciative comments from the ladies we swung with.As they were smooth stainless steel there was never any danger of doing damage to anyone. The larger ring did restrict oral but was easily taken out and reinstated depending on the mood of the moment.   Have had good experiences when slow and intimate and bad when they've been carried away or not concentrating on me and have ended up hurt.   I agree with desertbicple, they are easily removed and replaced if that is what the partner wanted, I generally use a captive bead ring and easily replace it using an insertion taper. I always listen and take it slow but that certainly does not stop me from going hard. At the end of the lady both get enjoyment from it, oral is not an issue unless you do go large gauge.
