I have sent some of the people that have personal data in their images a message informing them. I have only checked main profile images. I do not have the time to check everyone's. Most people don't have any personal info attached.Windows users XP, windows 7 and 8If you are in unsure go to your image gallerias. Open the image to full view, right click and "save image as" save them to your hard disk. Then in windows, right click on the image, click on "properties" normally at the bottom of the menu.A dialog will popup. Click on the Details tab and you can see all the meta tags attached to image. At the bottom of that list under the heading "file" will be local data that you will not have to be concerned about. To remove the personal information click "Remove Properties and Personal Information." that is at the bottom of the Details tab in the properties popup. A new popup will appear and click ok.Some users may have extra data that windows will not recognize and will create an error. If so click "Remove Properties and Personal Information." again and on the new popup click the second from the top radio button next to "Remove the following properties..." then manually select the properties you wish to remove except the one the error showed. You can manually delete that in the properties dialog. For MAC iOS users its not that simple. Do a google search for "remove personal information from photos" you will have to download software to do this. Sorry I can help as I don't own a mac (ewwww)Once you have removed the data upload the image back to RHP. Don't forget to remove the old one from RHP.Hope this helps.

It would be nice if you could include a clear warning to users uploading images of the dangers associated with meta data stored in images files, especially Location Data. Even better RHP you can modify your software to remove the data when the image is uploaded.Lastly RHP it is simple to write a batch to go through all images on your servers and remove all personal meta data.RegardsBlindman.

You just have to edit the picture slightly and the location data is saved over with other info as well. Not sure about the name? I think I fixe up most of my pics long ago but I figure I live in units so harder to find me if I have missed any or if I forget.

I'm hoping to circumvent rhp anti contact details policy... This way they even know which room in the house is the one to come to for a good time... 😈😄 Hp xo 💌 I don't need to worry about infatuated stalkers... I'm not that good in the sack ! 😎

There are so many ways to track and retrieve information on people. I have many years experience in software development and specifically in internet security. There isnt to many ways of avoiding it other than staying of the internet.

Most windows editing software keeps the data intact. Photoshop, Paint.net, Gimp also save the original meta data. Best way via imaging editing software is to create a blank canvas, load the original, copy and past into the new canvas and save that. That will remove the meta data. BTW some location data also includes elevation. GPS can give you location within a few meters.Always check before you upload.

Blindman, have you tried lifting pics from Amm ? I'm certainly no geek, but it's the only site I'm aware of that will not allow me to steal pics. Something they should be commended for, although I'm not sure if that holds true for mobile screenshots. Hp xo 💌 Because you're worth it...

This thread is blowing in the wind, in a couple of days or so it will be a distant thought in the pages of topics. Your message may be touched on occasionally, though mostly archive. I do not understand why RHP could not have some type of way to stop the info being part with the pics when they asses them before allowing them into our galleries. Is this a difficult procedure, or time consuming. If I use the www. to find such sorts of things, I end up in some porn site, it is like the www. is thinking for me.Mado

So best that people know what is stored within their images. The majority of the 2 dozen profiles I have viewed have no private data. Only 4 out of that 2 dozen had GPS coordinates and I have sent them private messages informing them of that fact and directed them to this thread. Also I only check the main profile image at the time. There could be more of those profiles that have some of the images with personal info.I have done my best to describe how to find out, but understand that not every one has the ability to check. If people are unsure just flirt me "I noticed you noticed me, and now I’ve noticed you too." and I will have a quick check. I will reply with the same flirt if you are safe or contact you if you have problems. Only be concerned if you have ever personalized you phone, camera, or tablet, with info you don't want people to know or if the device has GPS/Location Services enabled and you took photos at a location you would not like others to know about. Remember the image only records the location that the photo was taken.Blindman.

does it matter? really? or is this a case of someone having a little knowledge, and doing more damage than good by sharing it? as for saving of pics....any half smart fool with an android phone can save the pics they see or are shown on any of the adult/date sites...here, AMM, AFF wherever.....so maybe we should all just remove all of our pics, as none of them are safe....theres a solution...

It only takes one fucked up person with a brain to use this info with the intent to cause harm. Two forums I posted about it being too easy to save pics from here were rejected. I for one am glad this one went through. Now go post something positive elsewhere.

Now go post something positive elsewhere. the moment you hook to the net, be it via a comp, a phone, a tablet...whatever.... you open yourself to harm....and more harm can be done with things like an IP address, than with a pic. so on a positive note.. the pics themselves might prove to be a deterrent...some people remove themselves from risk, by allowing the 'fucked up people' to see what they look like...

No right click ,no properties, no metadata.

Dont think you understand. The picture can contain your address, full name, phone number, etc. Not a good thing to broadcast to just anyone when you are on a sex site. What if you say you are attending a RHP function then someone will know that your home is empty for the night. To AllBTW After some snooping I have discovered that only images smaller then 600 pixels in height and width retain Meta data as all bigger images are re-sized by the RHP servers and the data is stripped.

Blindman is swamped by requests for help.Only images smaller then 600 pixels in width AND height are of concern all larger images are re sized by the server and are safe. So if you are in doubt please check the size of the original image on your device/computer etc. Thanks Blindman will post more soon.

You have misunderstood the message. Someone can find out your exact address from your photo. Now if you don't have an issue with that... And don't mind some peeping toms coming to look at Shel through the window well good on you. I prefer that I tell people my address when I am ready to... Not that anyone on this website can find out where I live.

Its not the image but your name address and phone number that could be hidden in the image that is the danger. Imagine you say you are attending an rhp event then someone can know when and where an empty house is. Etc- Posted from rhpmobile

is it just me/ am i the only one who detects the cloying odour of paranoia? i think people read too many of the urban legend Facebook hoaxes that seem to have proliferated these past few years... we are all at risk.every time we hook up to the net, or turn our mobile phones on, or swipe our damned credit cards..but the info embedded pics are the least of our worries, if there's even any info worth mentioning that is.... Facebook updates reveal when we are out....but then, so does seeing us in our car, or bumping into some weirdo in the bottle-shop.... if there was anyone who was so dedicated to ripping us off, using the information embedded in our photos....then they deserve, on the merits of their hard work alone...to help themselves.... ffs, i/we refuse to be suckered into believing this stuff is ever going to hurt us... it reeks of the paranoia we see in not so popular american movies...

Hp xo 💌 Because you're worth it... yep, that's what I said before. Its a simple javascript anyone whos done webpage design knows you can enable or disable right clicking images. Most sites have right click disabled , rhp doesn't for some reason. Its not a technical issue. They probably have some reason why they leave it enabled.

Quoting 'Highpriority'Who is responsible for protecting our information ? We who upload the pics...? Or rhp (and others) who store it ? Hp xo 💌 Because you're worth it...You are responsible. Anything you upload to a unsecured dating is public information. All the content on RHP is unsecured information (except billing information). If you use this site on a public or unsecured network every thing you do while on the site is available for anyone to see. It is up to the individual to manage the level of risk associated with the use of any dating or any other site on which personal information is provided or created. I created this thread to inform people of the fact that some very private and personal information is embedded in the content of some images. Those that I informed where shocked as they where unaware that this information even existed. This is not about paranoia, its about making people aware of what information they do and do not give out. Unfortunately there are people that use social networking site to target individuals for all sorts of reasons. We do not leave our cars unlocked nor our houses. This is not paranoia it is good practical common sense. A determined thief will always get in but the opportunist will be stopped. It is risk management.

I understand and thank you for putting up this thread blindman. The thing is, that devices are enabled to record this information, which is fine if the images stay in our hands/computer (why most of us would need this capability is another question) But places like rhp, Amm, fb etc, should they as part of their upload process, be required to remove those details from images ? There have been cases in Australia where women have died as a result of meeting people online... Should these sites be required to protect us from our own technological ignorance ? I'm sure that in the rhp fine print when we signed up (who reads the terms and conditions ? I know I don't, I just click "I agree") they say that we absolve rhp from any and all responsibility...yarda, yarda... But if someone hacked rhp and got your full name, address, phone number and credit card details we'd all be marching to their office (wherever the hell that is...) and be demanding blood ! So, these places do have a duty of care to protect our information... But should they be doing more ? Including protecting our information that many of us don't even understand that we are exposing... Hp xo 💌 Sorry if I've given you a headache reading this ...I've got one writing it...

Hp xo 💌 Sorry if I've given you a headache reading this ...I've got one writing it...RHP operates in good faith and assumes that users understand the technology. It is in their interest to provide all the relevant information required to make their service an enjoyable experience for all. RHP must operate within the law and users have all the rights given by consumer law in regards to the services they pay to receive..If RHP is hacked and confidential information is taken IE credit card details. RHP is not accountable unless there is neglect on their part. BTW RHP is not the billing company. It is the users Duty of care to ensure there own safety of information. It would be like expecting the notice board owners in a supermarket be responsible if someone pins up their bank account details. Just because there is not a sign saying dont post bank details does not make them responsible. All images except for verification images are considered public information posted at the users risk. I do believe that RHP should update their photo guidelines informing users of the possibility of extra data being embedded in the images. But there is no obligation for them to do so.In fact users that do post images that have there phone number or address in the image are in breach of RHP's Terms of use and their accounts can be terminated without notice.

It was but to inform and warn people of the fact that some very private information is stored with images, images that are on public display. I do so on this site as IT DOES attract some predators and people with immoral motives. I have been here 5 years and on several occasions I am very glad that full name and address is not available.Yes everything we do generates data. That is not the issues. We select who we communicate with, where and when. just as with snail mail we attach a return name and address. But would you put a picture of your partly naked body on a public notice boards saying, "hungry for it." and leave your name and address on the back for any that bothered to look could find it. Some people here for various reasons do their beast to protect their Identity. If they read this thread then they are more informed and more able to protect them selves. All of the people that I sent messages to about the fact that GPS data was attached where shocked and unaware that this data was on public display.I seek to educate, not to scare.
