QR codes at swinger clubs

January 05 2022

We recently heard that swinger clubs require a QR check in. With the recent news from The Victorian supreme court that the QR information is no longer secure and could end up in the hands of 3rd parties how do swingers feel about checking in? We don't really enjoy the clubs so it doesn't affect us but the possibilities for misuse and abuse of that information must be a cause for concern for some couples considering the lengths they go to to remain discreet.

We had to check in at Chateau Vino on New Years Eve. Swingers clubs are no different to any other places that require you to do so. Me personally l don't care what they do with that information. The place was crowded so a lot of others must think the same way. We're not doing anything wrong or illegal. In my job people are constantly making shit up and gossiping about others, at least this would be true 🤷‍♀️ Although l can't wait for my check ins to go public. Bunnings Kmart Coffee Club Dan Murphy's Chateau Vino 🤣 Ms PF xx

You should always have access to the paper equivalent. In any case that should eliminate any perceived digital risk.

It doesn't concern us, years ago there was a guy taking down the registration plates of cars attending a club on the Gold Coast, not sure if he was attempting to blackmail, a private eye gathering dirt or just some weirdo. Nothing is secure these days, the QR probably the safest tracing app out there but like anything open to abuse.

Wouldn't bother me. Suprised if it really concerned anyone tbh. If it does, don't go.

I’ve never used a QR code, just do the paper option and give false details if you want to maintain a certain level of privacy. Be it a club or anywhere else, they don’t need to know our every move. I wouldn’t let a partner treat me like that and I’m not letting the government do it either 😉

Wouldn't think QR check ins would be an issue. More information potentially at risk from pre existing practice of recording licence info on signing in.

I would be more concerned with your internet browser history

I'd be more concerned who has STDs, and who stealths at swingers clubs, than check ins. A bit like here, much like Hotel California, you can check in but never leave! 🤣 Ms Foxy

Doesn't bother us greatly as we are at a stage in our professional and personal lives that what others may know or think about us means very little. If our info was used for marketing purposes we may be a bit more concerned.
