I've never been, but it's a good price and by all accounts a very beautiful place. It's next on my list of go to. Hugs Gazpacho

I see from your profile you are keen on outdoor sports. So you will love Queenstown, lots of outdoor activities and sports. Otherwise it is a small town, for me as a Sydneysider, but you may quite like the size of Queenstown. I think it may be a bit of transient type of place where people go to pick up jobs during the winter season. That of course also means lots of fun and young people... maybe lots of young tourist girls looking for a holiday romance. I reckon you should go. First step New Zealand...... then the world!

Its one of our gems back home, lots to do and close to the beautiful southern regions of NZ e.g. Milford sound or up the glaciers on the West Coast - so lots of choices if you were to go to Queenstown.......its like ...the hills are alive to the sound of music LOL...ok that was pretty corny but you get the drift aye LOL

Skiing at Mt Hutt and lived in Methven and travelled the South Island which is stunningly amazing with glazier lakes that are prettier than the postcards themselves. Queenstown is amazing, adrenaline fuelled party place and also stunning by the lake. Bungy jumped, sky dived and jet skied all for the first time there, yes you will spend $$$ but it will give you a life time of memories or better still go work there or on the ski fields!! :)))

Have a drive around the beautiful vineyards, stop for cheese, I've just come back and thought it was beautiful for a short trip. You'd need some good company :-) - Posted from rhpmobile

Probably a bit hard as a backpacker but they seem to enjoy street entertainers, you just need a good talent ;-) x - Posted from rhpmobile

Place called Fergburger New Zealand supposedly makes best burgers in the world. Was an article on it so I'd love to give it a shot. Just don't do it before bungee jumping - Posted from rhpmobile

Howdy,Definitely go I miss the place bad. Summer or winter it's awesome, the weather is changeable but its still awesome. Summer mid 30's winter well its cold but if you're into skiing or boarding then its no problem, sometimes I used to ski to work. Its been 20yrs since I lived there & I used to run a pub there. If you have a hospitality back ground you'll get work easily. Grocery shopping there is outrageously expensive & most locals drove south to Invercargill which if I remember correctly is about 1,1/2hrs drive. But the activity the scenery out weighs all the other stuff oh & rent is expensive to.I hope this helps & hasn't put you off, my advice go do it.The visitors in winter are there to ski/board, drink, play & fuck its awesome.

I went to Queenstown last year and I liked it. A lot of activities, expensive but worth to visit at least once. I would recommend it.
