Quick geek trip to Canberra

September 02 2017

The male half of us is going to canberra from 14-17 september for a space event (the end of the cassini mission). suggested accomodation location is tuggeranong as that is quite nearby various places to be visited within the tidbinbilla nature reserve. airbnb has been investigated for some reasonably priced options, no need for 5 star bladibla, just somewhere comfortable, safe and friendly. any suggestions of anything to look out for if theres time to squeeze in any other unique canberra things, or tips for car hire or other accomodation offers and what not. thought may aswell reach out to the rhp community, being social across state lines is valuable :)

I used to live in Canberra. You are obviously going to the Space Centre... but if you're at all interested in more history related to such, try for the former sites of Honeysuckle Creek (Apollo mission fame) and Orroral Valley stacking stations. Also takes you into beautiful natural scenery. You can detour and have a look at Booroomba Rocks or some more fascinating formations in the area. Being a nature buff, I can give you/him further advice and directions on natural/geographical interests if needed. Much of the main tourist attractions in Canberra are well known and easily googled.
