Real age minus 5 years = profile age?

April 22 2012

Is everyone knocking off five years from their actual age on their profiles? Should I be assuming that everyone is 5 to sometimes 10 years older then they say? Does everyone do this? Because I am not... are you? xxMeeka

... 51 Meeka *shudder*. Not a pretty thought but true. What I don't get is the excuses for doing it. You know the "but I look/feel so much younger than my age". Makes me wander what else they might be lying about. KKxx

Nah, what's the point. I can only imagine the awkward moment when we walked into a bar to meet some young twenty something and they take one look at us and say...32 right?. Of course, I'd smile my best smile and flick my youthful hair and be thankful that I recognise the music playing in the bar. And I could pull it off...probably. But to what end? I am the age I am. I've lived the life I've lived and I wouldn't change that for all the tea in England. If people can't take us for what we are, they are welcome to say NEXT! Their loss.

Though I don't get as excited about my birthdays as I once did, it's my actual age and I'll own it. That being said, I do have one coming up that is getting me more than excited, but that's to do with what's planned, not how old I'll be turning.I'm always looking at guys profiles that state their age as mid 30s and I do a little pfffft cherright mate

to add that they will be 10- 15 kgs heavier and men will be 2-3 inches smaller I really don't get why people lie about the fundamentals on a profile they are all things that will be found out when you ACTUALLY meet someone in person, or perhaps that is just it, they don't actually intend to meet anyone for real therefore why mess up a good profile with the truth?Me? I am the age i say i am and the person i describe myself to be (or at least i think so) I don't have time for make believe so I guess I am not that creative lol

everything hangs on first impressions and at the end of the day it's myself I want to impress. Lying about my age would totally suck if someone rocked up and was looking at me suspiciously, I'd be on edge. I'm physically and mentally well, and damn proud and happy of not just my exterior, but probably more so, my interior...my head space...where I'm at! I thought I knew everything 20years ago but I've realised in the last few years, I've got so much to learn. I've just turned 41 which makes the odds worse for me to meet women on this site but it's all cool, Jahmon lives in here, RHP. I swear he was if not 56 I'm guessing a fit 60 but still??? a WTF??? So not going there...Im not outside the 5 year age Meeks but Ive date stamped my pics in pg gallery, have pics up that are current from NYD Jan this year, people can take there opinion on looks from that..I reckon a shite load of people on here lie about there age on here. However have met people as well that "fudge" figures but its a case of "who cares" when you meet them...Its a chemistry thing

I'm still searching for that youthful fountain. .I can understand people liking to hear others compliment them by saying that they look younger.....Doesn't lying about your age then negate that though? .Me? Well, if we're all putting down the age that we look/feel then I should list my age as 35-40. I don't get the "look good for your age" comments. I get the, "Really? You're only 30?"*Tells himself it's because he comes across as more mature*.CheersRusty

There was one point where I wasn't paying enough attention to how old I am (you know those in-between-the somethingty-five and the next big decade marker birthdays that nobody cares about?) and I guess I forgot because I started to believe for a little bit that I was already 34 like my profile was saying and started worrying about no longer being able to tick the age 24-34 box on surveys and things. As it turns out, I had just done the quick "I don't want to fill out all this now, point me toward the ladies!" signup that everyone does and said I was born on the 1st of January. So RHP was prematurely aging me, maybe all the ones that shave off 5 years do it because they're super-duper old and forgot to keep track of their age :P

as said in few postsHowever Meeks, I am with you on the looks to age, gee if some of the blokes are 45 I have had a really easy life believe me I haven’t, not complaining loved every bit of my life even the bad bits till recently worked average 16hr days 6 days a week for near 8 yrs so in theory looking as some folks if they are 45 looking as they do I must have miss counted and added a decade. So if really 35 this mean my skin is more tender and in turn more irresistible to some of you lot?Sure dont feel 45 not that happy about it but over the moon with the year i was born lolany your spring chickens want to play zimmer frame??

Totally agree, absolutely no point in lying about it, as the moment one meets someone, the cat is out of the bag. Used to be on another site, and when I attended a Meet'n'greet nite, I was met with "OMG, you are EXACTLY like your profile". Seems that it was most unusual for people to be totally accurate, and I was the exception. I most definately am 50, as stated, tho a cpl of weeks ago, someone picked my age as 36, when asked to guess my age. So I could get away with fibbing, but it isnt worth it. The Truth, is more important, than the consequences.

As far as you know anyway. The birth dates we entered here are fudged, but they're close enough.I recently removed my beloved beard because the grey bits were making me look like I was 50. I'm told now I'm more like 35 so I guess it's gone for a decade or so.Mrs C was still getting asked for ID at 32 and now gets asked if her daughter is her sister. I suspect she could stay under 40 for another decade and none would be the wiser. We have been contacted by a few 40-45's who look more like 50+, but some of the recent posts have me more worried about 15 year old impostors than the young at heart.Mr C

I am seventy but if I told em that I would not get laid   truth is, most women do shave a few years off as if your under 50 your chances increase a guy will say ohh i fucked a older woman in her forties   Same deal for older men, they do not get laid if they say exactly how old they are unless they have been working out and have all their hair and teeth   lets face it its a sex sight, Its like new heels, they look pretty, you wear them for a while, mostly you prefer to wear them with your legs up in the air. Looking for a partner in life I think thats different, you find something comfortable that you can wear for a while.   I am sixty in July, I do not care what guys think re gosh you do not look your age, I feel my age that is for sure. I also feel anyone between 35 and 45, what can I say, I love a good pair of heels now and again and you find plenty of heels on this site. Pardon the pun   Men will say you do not look your age to any woman , it does not matter if your jowels are bigger than a basset hounds so long as you suck cock   But while your out their fishing the bait has to look young and fresh. so I guess people do feel the need to shave off a few years and who can blame them with the culture of youth not just on RHP.

Not very nice my new found friend, I shave my head or a really do look like a Clown, does this make me a no hope basket case (see movie) Obviously I will stay on here for fun; maybe some 90 + yr old might take pity on me I think its not right saying the wrong age, here we are waning to get a little trust to maybe get further to a meet, nothing worse that the minute you see each other the picture was not them at all and or when they where 20+ yrs younger so straight away you feel lied to, now you do you bring her home for a night of passion. It is questionable Will tell a story but in another post so it’s not too long, lol

Quoting 'kinkisthenewpink' You can pick it nearly every time. Do you want someone to think "he's aging well" or "holy fuck, he's lived a ROUGH life for a 45 year old" I laugh when I encounter guys who say they're a couple of years younger than me yet they're looking a few shy of 50. I have no interest in spending time with someone who has lived that hard of a life. Unless a certain joie de vivre shines through indicating that they're a larrikin who has definitely lived hard (think Robbie Williams for example) I just don't want to spend time with someone who has taken on so much of the world that an extra 15 years reflects on his face.Especially as I'm playful and immature and a ratbag myself. I want to spend time with someone who isn't so serious, who is all about fun, and who doesn't give a rats and won't lie about his age just to meet someone for a shag.

Little story In my twenties on my way to Scotland with a mate, in his car, called in to Manchester from where he came from, for a night out, car rattling away (was newish car, Sierra Cosworth 4 wh drive two door) bit special in its day. Any way at the Ford Garage in Oldham started to chat up the women there got on great, they fixed the car we got on our way Two of them used to write to me one sent me pictures of her self in a bat mobile literally, plus other pictures, but obviously as I later found out these where when she was a fair bit younger, got on great in letters but forgot which one she was. time goes by a year etc, she says pop by for a night out, so next trip through I did Knocking on the door, voice shouts is that you, yes I reply, come in she shouts, I go in, she shouts shower up stairs I'm getting ready there is a spare room there to on the left So I go up with my bag go for a shower shave etc, come out get dressed, shout where are you, down here, I hear at the door I go down door open no sign, I say where, outside come on and shut the door, I go out shut the door see her on the other side of the street, its night time now but she looked fine, Go to a Pub and see she is near 50 (I am 26/27) bag in her house, keys for car in her house but she was a nice lady so stayed chatting had a few drinks and a laugh Getting back to the house I’m about to go into the spare room when she grabs hold of me and says, I’ve waited nearly a year for this like shit are you going to sleep in there and pulls me into her bedroom via my belt spins me around sits on the bed. No need to go on any further but a nice night was had also had a great breakfast in the morning and left, kept in touch for few years later in post cards and funny letters etc but didn’t go back nor did I string her on. Said in the first letter was a shock seeing pictures of you when obviously younger to how you are now, still good looking just 20 yrs older and its not really some thing I could make some thing of, if passing Manchester again and your free and want to cook me breaky again maybe hook up but cant say for sure that will happen. She was fine with this and understood (the beauty of it all was she was ok with what I said and still kept in touch for some time afterwards). Maybe this is why I am a little conscious about pictures and age etc on these sites, but no matter what if one can talk to another without being ridiculed or get into an argument or what ever due to not wanting to go further etc then a far better way to be in my eyes. Could string it out and give all ins and outs of the details and some of the funny bits but think you might be getting tired of some of my long posts. Wish you all a good day as I’m running late for work ha, again!

But it seems to be more the blokes who do it - a number claim that, if they said their real age that 'no one is interested in a 50+ male' .. It all comes out eventually so why bother lol. If we are interested we are - regardless of age! But yeah, a 50+ looking for females in their 20s ... Can see where that might not be an incentive lol

With us...What you see is what you get...as in photos and as in info! What really makes us chuckle is that so many people seem to lie and put their ages down so when another person (we will call person A) who is only searching for a certain age group, let's say 20 - 40 for example and they see a profile that says their age is 40 (we will call person B). So they meet, like each other & play. However in actual fact Person B is really 45 or older. So Person A has in fact played with someone older than they wanted...and survived!! LOL So..at the end of the day, what does age matter? So long as there is a physical attraction and everyone is happy..just go with the flow and don't be so hung up on someone's vintage!!

Age is just a number, I still to this day don't see the reason why people have to '' fudge the numbers''... I mean, what's the point behind it ? Why are people no longer proud to be the age they are, whether younger or older? I'm as my profile as states, never been anything else, I'm me, age, height weight, disposition, like it, love it, or leave it, makes no difference to me.

I tell all my age and also tell them in the 1st few exchanges of messages that I am A larger figured woman. I do not mislead anyone and find some go to lengths to deceive. Crazy as they find out in the longrun.   So my question is why do they lie and say it is all fine?Talk about time wasting! LOL

Oh but I was born on the 29th of Feb, my birthday only rolls around once every four years That would make me...6, bumped up by 18 years!   Ok, so the part above was me lying about my age. 24 is what it is, as I frequently have to prove to the bouncers and barmen. I don't feel the need to deceive, I can deal with it if someone isn't interested in me as I actually am. Frankly, I'd get no kick out of someone desiring me for any reasons but the ones that are truly mine.   Has anyone actually carded a potential playmate? I once had to show someone my degree via webcam to prove that I wasn't spinning tales about what I do for a living... of course I soon realised how undignified the situation was and showed them the metaphorical door

And sure enough Meeka was spot on - yep his shaved 5 years off his age, then as i further went thru it saw he lied about where he lived, (which is kinda weird) then he claimed he was new to scene and this site ( a lie he was practically a founding member !!!) his grown 4 inches in the last year, and slimmed down to a athletic body since I saw him yesterday !!!! Lies or perception ??? He then rants on about what a great guy he is bla bla bla mmmm that could be his perception and I know it's a lie!!! To me if you lie about a "couple of things " on your profile , then me wonders what your gonna lie about in real life ???? Btw babe if your reading this (doubt it .... That would require commitment) your lifestyle choices are reflecting in your face !!!! But I guess some 20 something's can see past that and truly think your 44 ....my ass Mmmm and the Tuscan Red I know well she's just pure sweetie and a steadying hand in my life xx

Great question Meeka! Mrs FL here. I've been on here as a "single" woman and I was definitely guilty of knocking a few years off my age. The main two reasons I did that were so that I fitted into a search for women under 40 (don't ask me why, I had it in my head that it was a more desirable age bracket!) and also so if anyone who might know me looked they would think nah, that can't be her.   Now I am proudly on here with my husband and we made the decision to go with the brutal truth on everything. That means age, height, weight, "intimate measurements" lol ..... everything. Oh and especially photos. If we are still on here in a few months time then we'll update our photos. Everyone has cameras these days, it's not that hard to snap a shot and upload it so it's current.   We've been looking at quite a few profiles lately and wow, the amount that clearly the age and the photo don't match up is incredible! I'll be honest, I don't love my age, particularly as Mr FL is 9 years younger and I guess I think of myself more as someone closer to his age in outlook etc, but you know what, people are going to notice if you're not honest lol! We're all hoping for that meeting, that special connection, and when it happens, that little white lie about age could become a bigger issue.   So we vote the truth, the brutal truth and nothing but the truth all the way. Undersell and overdeliver! xxx

Some people are a bit shy to tell the truth . Good excuse though. While some are so truthful ( that includes me btw ! ) but people won't believe the truth.Young or old ... -5, +5 , or -10 , 10 , Lucky i didn't have to be shy at all LOL!

Most people don't believe that I am 30 at the end of this year so perhaps I should knock 5-10 years off so it looks realistic :P

I'm aware that some may do this, but, to be honest....I may not look as hot as a buffed 20 year old guy....but i'm pretty happy with my 43 year old MAN body. 43 43 43, and loving it. Why would I bother to lie? If people are stupid enough, and insecure enough, to take the chance to be 'found out' on the first meeting, then more fool them. My age is not a boundary, but an asset.

There are of at least 2 male profiles on here that have fake ages...one has not long ago left and the other is in this post as we speak...they never meet anyone at all...they are as fake as fake can be! One male on here has lowered his age every time he opens up a new profile with the same pics he had up from about 10 years ago that I know of when I first joined up! I am with you...there are stupid people on sites like these! I rather like the idea of validating your age...that way a person can see if you are for real as they use your licence as proof of age! Hugs...xFunlovingx

I'm 50 and my partner is 13 and a bit years younger than me. On another site we changed my age to 42, which is closer to what I look (most people are surprised at my chronological age, because I look and act closer to my partners age). Even though we are perfectly happy with our age gap, we thought others may judge the gap too much, so we tweaked my age to make it more palatable. When we came to this site we just decided that being honest about the age gap was better. We've met some great people on this site, and some may have stretched the truth a little regarding their ages. But it comes down to mutual attraction, so at the end of the day, the age isn't the whole story. They've got to sell the whole package, and "real" or "pretend" age may not be a factor at all if they've got a shit personality... Ha ha
