It's just hard to know for certain don't you think, wish i knew. Having said that, it's great to be in the know, but even better being in the 'unknown'i want to come back as Anna Ivanovic's bike seat

I studied Tibetan Buddhism for over 20 years, the Buddha didn't actually teach that we are reincarnated as any particular being, but I think there is a good argument for connection and interdepence between all beings. What makes sense to me is that we are recycled energy and how we are in relationship to all beings in this life.If you believe your conciousness coninues it may continue into many different beings, the film Little Buddha addresses this question quite well. I once heard an old Tibetan Lama say to a woman who asked him the question''how can I know who I was in my past life?'' ''Who are you in this life, are you a happy person, are you an angry person? That is who you would have been in your past life''x R

I believe that the belief in reincarnation is the one idea most likely to make me apply myself to thinking about my situation!I certainly do not believe in the one life then eternal judgement idea- it is way too full of holes.However- very simply the belief in reincarnation goes hand in hand with the idea that we are all part of one greater whole and the sooner we understand that and act in accordance with it the happier we will be.Well- that works well in this life- and believing that bad karma accrued in this life might come back to bite me in later lives does concentrate my mind.So- I do not know about belief- but that is a practically very useful theory. At the end of the day that is what counts- does holding this idea and acting in accordance with it produce more or less happiness for ourselves and those we meet.

Love this one, Honeybee, Yes, I believe in reincarnation. After living on this earth and then passing away, I do believe there is more to it than just being buried in the ground or cremated. I believe it is where one life ends and another begins..............but how this takes effect, I just don't know. Still, to think that your life can go on, somehow, it still gives you that fire to live this one to the best you can.

But I come from a genetics point of view. After all we all add something to it that we pass on to our children who add and so forth. There has to be some form of past memories tied up in there somewhere. Maybe some people just have the ability to access it better than others. Mees dont deny that anything is a posibility.

Matter and energy can't be destroyed, so it's fair to say the synaptic energy between neurons can persist after death as memories and vague experiences. I'll buy it.

I don't believe in reincarnation, it's a strange idea to me. I believe once we die we become worm food. No heaven, hell or purgatory. I struggle to believe in anything I can't see or experience or actually physically touch. Don't really know why but that's my little snippet about it

Im genuinely happy to learn though, I was brought up first as a catholic and then Jehovah's witness. So now I dislike anything I find that I can't understand. And religion is 1 of those things. But to the believers, I hope you're right and that you're own family get safe passage to the destination you hope to get to. Blessed be all, amen!!

I'm with the fossil on this. To believe in re-incarnation would mean I believe in a soul. Oh and "deja vu" refers to a moment where feel like you have experienced the moment before, not that you have met someone in a previous life. I am sure there is a more aproppriate word and there is bound to be a pedant out there who can supply the correct word or phrase. Mike .

You should read "Dune" by Frank Herbert it posits a group of people who are able to access the memories of previous people in the gene line. Fairly improbable in real life and I don't see how you can "pass" on memories thruogh a sperm or egg. Mike

I did not find it particularly convincing. The Psychiatrist who wrote it is far too quick to disregard Jung's collective unconsciousness. IMHO.If things were as simple as the book eludes. Life would be much easier. I remember thinking, there were many ways to explain his patients knowledge of his own past life, for instance, that he was disregarding because he had a barrow to push.It was an interesting read though.I don't think it's unusual to feel you've met someone before. Strong spiritual connections are often like that. It's lovely, but I don't think it means you actually have met them..I'm an atheist, I'm dust when I die. My energy will live on in the friends who remember me and the creations I've left behind. That is more than enough for me.~smiles~

I had a similar experience many many years ago when I was a young un. Walking to the train station after work and there was a guy walking in the opposite direction, our eyes met and we just stopped dead in our tracks, both of us at the same time. We stood there for ages going through our lives trying to figure out where we had met before, didn't come up with anything that could have had us meet before. And I still remember that encounter like it was yesterday. I believe that every person we meet in this lifetime was a connection in a previous life and that there is unfinished business that needs to be dealt with, be it good or bad.

Quoting 'DangerClose' Matter and energy can't be destroyed, so it's fair to say the synaptic energy between neurons can persist after death as memories and vague experiences. I'll buy it. Everything in the universe at the subatomic level is purely, vibrating energy, our cells and the matter in it included. So, where does this energy go when we die? It can't be destroyed can it?? Now, I've personally seen, felt and heard enough stories about the spirit world to know that that exists, so i can never rule out reincarnation either, whether it be of the physical or spiritual.

at the School of Art,a famous Rennie MacIntosh building. There was a small crowd in the foyer waiting for the tour.I looked up and three women were jumping up and down waving at me....I waved back..they ran over to me and said,''are you our friend from Ireland''...not just one but three people were convinced I was someone else that they vaguely knew. We meet gazzillions of people in our lifetime,we are casually aquainted with some,it could be the person in the shop or the dentist,if you see those pople in a different environment it may be that there is a vague recognition.Or they might remind you of someone you met. I really don't believe we are reincarnated as a single being but I do think our conciousness continues in some form.x R

If all in life is a cycle..... why would presume that death is final? . Yes I beleive that we come back...only as humans though and yes I do beleive that we can have people that travel with us through our various life journeys.

do any of you ever stop and think of this breakups are only what you make them.. if the promise of amicablity is made.. then make the effort... sometimes.. its us or the other person who make the break up harder on all... if only we all just got over our anger.. moved on positivly.. and stop the petty childish wars that go on in break ups.. then maybe us women (or men depending how you look at it) wouldnt end up so bitter so words of the wise.. breakups are what you make of them.. if you continue the cycle of bitterness and nastyness.. then you are the bitter and nasty one too.... but also take a moment to stop and see the other persons hurt before you continue the tirade of emotional rain on the other ex loved one.. cause remember.. there must have been a time you once loved them (and maybe subconsiously.. or even still do) but remember to.. what you do in this life.. you will pay for in the next..its called karma.. and any karma done in this year 2-012 is alot stronger than normal because it is the year of the dragon.. the strongest year karma wise too... so instead of what you put out comes back x3... in this year.. what comes back is infinate....

damn the first part of my rant was quite intelligent.. but must have somehow typed over it damn.. was trying to say that reincarnation has many forms... you may come back in the next life as human or a butterfly or even a beautiful rose..... or a cockroach if you were a particularly nasty manipulative deceiving person which is where i was heading that in nasty violent breakups.. the instigator will come back as a cockroach and then it went on to my rant about breakups.....

In the reincarnation of souls and if there's someone from a past life who you're destined to be with again, it happens again in another life. Yes, I have someone special in my life where we just clicked straight away and it feels like we've known each other forever.
