Relationship Economics

April 09 2013

In the interests of self-reflection and I shudder to say this, personal emotional growth, ( I think I’m going to be sick…) my extreme perceived narcissistic elitism and perceived generational entitlement complexes notwithstanding, I have to ask the question in earnest. The way our government is shelling out the dough to these young girls, bribery it seems, what is it now, $6,000 per engendered servant… err… sorry…. $6,000 per child the government is paying out, of our own taxpayer funds? Not a bad investment considering that child will cost $250,000 over the course of its lifetime, at least on the part of the government. Now I can fully appreciate that I may be a cold-hearted, narcissistic, entitled bastard who at the best of times has probably left behind more bastards than I’ll ever know, or maybe I’m just paranoid. The question is, as a single male, and being not exactly undereducated and poor…. I have to ask. As someone who is not “relationship material”, what are the economic advantages of getting into a relationship with a woman slash significant other, if we’re being politically correct about it? Not just speaking from a financial perspective, I mean socially, and emotionally as well. Because apparently the world runs on incentives and economics. I get that in theory the rent would be halved, there would be companionship, presumably some sort of on-going sexual arrangement that is presumably exclusive within bounds, and room to grow both personally and emotionally assuming both people are having their needs meet…. Though I just can’t see it happening. I’m too cynical to believe in love in the digital age. If I go older, there’s a good chance I’ll inherit step-children which have to be worked around, and presumably will make the ratio even more uneven. Go younger and they’re really pretty, though they can’t fulfil me intellectually which is no problem for me, though they tend to feel threatened by it. I look around I just see a generation of breeders, and regardless of my stance on eugenics and the overpopulation of the planet though Hitlerian it may it’s about as pointless as arguing evolutionary biology with a feminist. In the other corner, I see a generation of sheltered un-experienced brats. They’ve either already bred and are looking for their prince charming to save them failing that the government welfare program will do fine, must love kids, or they’re still living at home, with over-protective parents who won’t even let them date and these are girls in their twenties goddamn it.I’m honestly at a loss, and I’m sure both sides will argue they’re really nice people. People who have just made some fucked up choices in the past which is a rationalization to alleviate personal responsibility, once you take all emotionality out of it, as the post-emotional generation tend to do with their text speak and their abbreviation ftsh, whatevs, lol. Am I expecting too much of these people, that they would actually be capable of some sort of direction in life, much less forward momentum or emotional or financial growth? This is by no means a complaint, nor a cry for understanding; I’m just trying to understand where I fit in to this seemingly negative-growth equation. God forbid, standing up for yourself is misogynistic. One last question before I dismount my soap box. For richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, how much can a man take, financially, emotionally and even spiritually before he stops believing in love and becomes…. well, me basically?

Turn off your computer, go down the beach get some sun perv on some sexy girls and just relax and enjoy life. Life is what you make it and it sounds like your waiting for it to happen. Nothing happens if you are waiting for it you have to go out a get it for your self. You make the point of money a bit? If you feel you don't have enough money change jobs but to me a good paying job doesn't make you happy. Good work mate make you happy so where ever you work at the moment I'm sure your work mate are stress with you around. Please don't take that the wrong way you are problem a good guy but you seem very unhappy. Get your ass to the beach. NOW!!!!

I noticed you don't drink at all... Perhaps you should reconsider. If you do go down to the beach, take a beautiful bottle of wine & chill-lax :) Your only 26... In all seriousness, continue with this way of looking at life, you'll be a very unhappy, unattractive man when you're older... I've seen it happen & its very sad to see...- Posted from rhpmobile

Half rent, your other half may actually now how to cook so you wouldn't need to eat out every single day which would also save you money, companionship, regular sexual favours, an excuse to go to girly/cartoon movies, save money on heating if you rent a vacation house somewhere that actually gets cold by stealing body heat, handy assistance if you need to move a couch... Also spooning ;pAs for where you fit, I seem to recall a rather good illustration, up and to the left..

Where have you been you naughty boy? I have missed your particular brand of writing! You have presumed that your possible future partner may actually want to breed! Not all do! Lets see.... Rent is halved, power bills halved, easier to cook for two, she may cook at least half of the time, she may contribute to household chores, washing, ironing, bed making etc, shopping and bill paying. That alone would be worthwhile for you my little cherub as then you need to venture out in public less and less. Then there is the joy of human companionship, knowing someone is home waiting for you, knowing someone else actually gives a fuck about you if you are alive of dead, someone to debate the wisdom of today's youth with. If nothing else, you get to warm you feet in the winter, regular sex and finally, if you do procreate..., someone to wipe away your dribble and spittle when your child visits you once a year in the nursing home!!! Cheers Nicky. We love you Baby!- Posted from rhpmobile

Hi NickThose are very interesting and deep questions that I have to say does not directly impact your current circumstances. I don't think you disbelief in love, not deep down, unless you have been hurt badly from it. You state you have intimacy issues so that would be a stumbling block for you forming a long lasting relationship. Perhaps you might have to work on that if you want such a relationship. Shoshni, I don't need an excuse to go to a watch a cartoon ;)

A lot of you say that she can cook half the time. If she is like some of the women I've known or gone out with, she might end up torturing poor Nick. Some of the young women these days cannot identify fruits and vegetables correctly, well as I've experienced at the Coles/Woolworths checkout.

Drop your guard and heaven forbid you have lowered it a little BUT as we all know anything said before BUT means jack shit.. right!Sounds to me, you need a good fucking and decent connection with a mature non breeding kinda human. Appears your past has fucked you up and really "so what". YOU appear intelligent enough to be a survivor and not a victim HOWEVER narcissism is EGO driven with major self esteem issues up your bum. In my experience with narcissistic folk such as your self...their expected outcomes are always to benefit themselves at any cost to the victim. In all serious (don't laugh you lot) try to become more empathetic and realise the planets do not revolve himself and infact ALL the pedestal are taken by other narcissistic folk...... You will one day find love WHEN you realise you're worth loving. Guess I am off track BUT fuck...... that was some read there Nicky boy.

Now, with tongue firmly in cheek I shall rebut. I would ask all who have replied to this article to stand in the mirror and repeat their passages respectively. Particularly those who make any mention of ego, or that I need to get over myself. Taking into account the masses of illiterates and the blind who apparently can neither read, see or take a joke... Considering I only read about 5 replies out of 23 and discarded the rest as ego driven drivel. And to the four of you who made sense, thank you. It sure was an amusing conundrum on Animal Farm wasn't it? Hand Maiden - five stars Shoshni - four and a half stars Freya - five stars Inspirit - five stars For persevering , staying on topic, being constructive, not taking a cheap shot and being mature adults. As for the rest of you sad and sorry little children - get over yourselves! For the record - anything that is before but is total shit. I know I am worth loving. What little empathy I had was medicated away from 18 months to 21 years. As if I had a choice. The whole point of being a survivor is doing whatever it takes to win. Unfortunately life doesn't grade on effort. Civilisation is Mankinds greatest failure. Life grades on economy. Either you make it or you don't. There is nobody I wouldn't sacrifice to survive. I would treat people the way I liked to be treated but unfortunately people are cunts. It's only human nature. And while I may be a narcissist, I am not so up my own ass that I could honestly believe that I can change human nature. That would make me a megalomaniac or god. People are creatures of incentive, purely selfish and ego driven. And really, I accept that. I'm just more up front about it. Jesus bloody Christ, am I really that much of a creeper?

No more than any other person on here. We have our own views on realism and at the end of the day WE are a product of out environment. If others choose to be judgmental then they themselves are probably suffering in their judgements of self. Today I heard there is a man in WA and a RHP member who is drugging dates and raping them. THAT is a creeper!!!!!

In my previous post I mentioned about a guy drugging woman in WA.... I and I AM taking all accountability DID NOT get the facts of who this person was as it was kept under wraps. I have since found out who the "so called" person is and HE is a friend of mine. I would like to add he is not a rapist. He is a respectable larikan who DOES know and RESPECTS the word NO. This person DOES not need to drug woman for sex either! I hope RHP will remove my posts on the matter. I apoligise to my friend!!! A lessen learnt to all though...DO NOT CRY WOLF and not expect the truth to come out eventually, however the damage is done!!

Nick you seem to be somewhat educated (and amusing at times), but obviously have a bit to learn. You are thinking of Econs, not humans. Econs are indeed purely rational, including acting entirely in self interest. They exist only in textbooks.Humans on the other hand act irrationally, often altruistically and with empathy. They've been known to volunteer and to assist strangers. Sometimes they even self harm - like posting topics and comments in forums that make them sound like a twat for the amusement of others. Hardly the act of a purely selfish individual I would think. Have you gone soft?Mr C

Economists do it with models. Sometimes, I wished I studied economics except they know the price of everything and the value of nothing.Every system is great in theory. They are just not that great when it comes to implementation. Winston Churchill got it right. Democracy is the worst form of government but is better than other systems that have been tried. Replace democracy with capitalism and you get the same result.

Has anyone read the census analysis? Here are some of the findings:The average Aussie is female, 37 years old, speaks English at home, born in Australia to parents born in Australia, is in paid employment, identifies with a Christian Religion, married with 2 children, lives in a free standing home in the burbs, pays $1800 a month on the mortgage and does 5 hours or more of housework a week. Glad to know I am not average. I wonder if anyone on here could be considered an average Aussie?
