Apart from some nerves on the day and some mild discomfort during and after I was hardly sore at all and feeling pretty good the next day. Had had all the kids I had wanted to have so it was a no brainer decision for me. Cheers, W

Hubby had the snip 4 weeks after our last child was born. Definetely no regrets, he suffered a severe infection as he returned to work too quickly which resulted in him becoming very very sick and hospitalised but other than that it's fricken awesome!!!! No condoms!!! No contraceptive pill for me!!!! - Posted from rhpmobile

Nice to see the guys stepping up on the birth control issue. It must be so much better knowing that pregnancy is not an issue even if you still have to cover up for STI's, there is one less thing to worry about.

I Totally agree with Ralf. Great to see guys stepping up. Most of the females contraceptive is only 99% effective provided it is used correctly. Vasectomy is is reliable provided you follow the after care instructions :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Spent the weekend on the couch with an ice pack a few years back - don't regret it for a minute. However, the volume of cum seemed to drop off a bit after I had it done - not a massive issue, though. Get it - 'massive'? Haha! I'm here all week....... :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Kudos.A friend of mine and her husband have decided not to have kids, and she has been asking him for two years to have a vasectomy so she can go off the pill. He's refusing though, as he's afraid. And he's in the army. BTW, I wonder how many men felt their balls retract just a little when reading the forum title?

Yep, been there done that with no regrets. Only problem I had was when I was being interviewed by the civilian doctor, he asked me if I wanted a local or general. Being the wimp I am, I said general, I want to be in la la land when someone is down that way with a sharp knife. The Doc laughed and said the first vasectomy he did was a local as just as he was going to make the first incision he looked up and the the patient staring at him with eyes the size of dinner plates lol Mooka

Hubby had it done under local in the clinic - in a 9 am home by 10.30 am . 18 years ago ! We came home and had sex - he said he wanted to knock one orgasm off before he got feeling back ! ( we were young and silly ) We took it as a personal challenge to knock the 12 or so ejaculations off as quickly as we could ! In any case zero issues , no swelling , no loss of feeling etc - just a no brainer as far as we are both concerned for birth control ! - Posted from rhpmobile

My only regret is that I did not do it earlier so Mrs could go off the pill sooner. I did general and felt almost no pain afterwards. Could of gone back to work next day. Would encourage all to do it if they are done having kids. it's the least I could do after mrs had 3 cesaerians. I feel no dfference during sex etc.

Just follow the doctors advice on post op recovery. It seemed such a minor op that I ignored the medical advice and ended up with a swollen blue scrotum and days of pain. Would I do,it again yes, but I would take it easy after,

have passed since I went to a GP then the surgeon. We arranged an approx date for a few months time but a relocation of our business soaked up any chance of some time off.He wants to put me under but think I would prefer a local so I can get on with my routine a bit quicker.50zcool's experience sounds quick and easy as i am also sick of using condoms at home.Mr Luvsilver

I had the snip done a few years ago now, and don't regret it for a second. I have all the children I would ever want. I love them to bits, but three is enough! Now I am divorced, and although I always play safe, it does ease my mind. I had one incident before I was married that ended up with the girl getting the morning after pill (I offered, but she did not want me to go with her). The op was done under general, at the insistence of the surgeon. I'm not squeamish, so would have had been happy having it under a local. I was not sore afterwards, but there were three days of being uncomfortable. Do you think it is something I should put on my profile? Any thoughts?

So very glad I had the vasectomy. Easy, quick, no problems whatsoever. Highly recommend any guy to go through with it. Took all of about 15 minutes. I drove home afterwards with very little discomfort over the weekend about 8 yrs ago and happy days/nights ever since. Mr k - Posted from rhpmobile

I had it done about 6 years ago by a GP using a local. It took less than an hour, was a little tender for a few days but really no big deal, and the pretty nurse that assisted and chated with me throughout the proceedure thought I was very brave.lol... My lovely wife thought it was completely awesome that she did not have to worry about birth control and as we already had all the children we wanted it was a complete no brainer to get it done and save her the ongoing hassle. If you are sure you don't want any more children then I would definitely recommend it.

I did it as well. Mine was done under a general. I woke up 20mins later all done. It was tender for about a week but it wasn't anything that Panadol couldn't fix. Piece of cake! Just remember it doesn't stop STIs.

I went to see my doctor at 29. Told him I have 3 gorgeous girls and I don't want anymore. Within 6 months I was in day surgery; as I like my ignorance that general anaesthesia provides :) lol I was given all of these pain killers and some anti-nausea drugs in case; but I used one of the pandadeine forte for a headache; that was all I had. My decision was based around the following:- - It's less invasive surgery for men than women. - some women like my ex wife have trouble with other issues associated with the contraceptive pill, so the vasectomy was a good option for that. - Posted from rhpmobile

I wanted to get it done when I was 21 but the doctor refused to do it due to my age. Now I'm older and I have an awesome daughter who I love with all my hart (although unplanned) I'm seriously wanting to get it done. Is it just a case of a visit to the GP then 'off with you' to the snipatorium? I worked with a guy who rode his bike to the clinic and back when he had his done. Makes me squirm just thinking about that.

I had mine done under full anesthetic and yes it was very sore for a week or two. but that's what you have to do sometimes ... they gave me the full shave so no I keep it like that around all the working bits and trim the rest... as far as orgasms go I don't think it has changed at all except now I don't have to pull out..lol

I also have had this done under a local, it took 20min and a cold bag of frozen peas to help with the what small amount of pain I had afterwards. Some men have said all hell will break out and your NOT A MAN if you do (bullshit I say), im having more fun now I've had it done and im still a man, its not a sex change its a way of helping out your partner.

Hmm, I wish I could say it brought back fond memories, I was snipped about 7 years ago and the memory haunts me still today, all done under local anesthetic. My first memory was laying on the bed pre op, and some funny fucker get wheeled in after his op, pretends to wake up, and screams in agony holding his balls, then laughs at the rest of us waiting, and says, "only joking"!! The only other thing that springs to mind is what felt like the fucking plastic cutlery set the surgeon used to slice open my nads and saw his way through my pipes.. It felt like he was tugging them through from my stomach.. Mrs Fondle was very keen to ensure it was all in good working that same evening, Such fond memories... - Posted from rhpmobile

John had the snip a couple of months after our second child was born. Very minimal pain for him which he was surprised about. He did get lots of sympathy though from my friends and I as he was so bruised and swollen! Great for him as he now does not have to wear a condom when we play with a close group of friends where all of the guys have had the snip and only play together as a group. I have had to go back on the pill though as there is the risk of a broken condom while swinging with other couples we may meet as we definitely do not want a third child or have to explain to family how I have fallen pregnant when they know John has had the snip!

I had mine done about 5 years ago followed the instructions given by the doctor no issues. Its great knowing my wife doesn't have to use the pill or me a condom when we have sex. All I can say to the blokes is its easier for us to have the snip than the ladies to have their tubes tied. Man up guys it ain't that bad.

It's no big deal, but I didn't like the smell of burning flesh when he cauterised the tubes. Apparently we now produce 3% less ejaculate.I've heard all the stories including the guy who couldn't even wait to get home and had to jump his wife in the back seat of the car just to make sure everything still worked

We decided after our third child that we weren't going to have any more kids and a vasectomy seemed a lot easier and less invasive than MRS R_T getting her tubes tied. I went under for the procedure so didn't feel a thing, can't say I regret it at all. I was a bit tender for a few days, but nothing major. Pretty simple procedure really. Mr R_T
