Same name?

March 11 2015

Just curious... Certain names can be used on both male and females. Has anyone themselves (or known of someone else that has), dated or formed a relationship with someone with the same first name? I have just started communicating with someone with the same first name, and I think it would be an interesting dynamic, especially if it became serious/long-term. (Perhaps same sex couples would see this occur more often).

HAHAHA I can't even contemplate someone with the same name as my ex wife....... and the chances of My name being a womans name are rather..... non existant. So Im guessing you're seeking responses from people called Gene, Kim, Nic, Stef, Bobby etc

who was in transition changed his female birth name from Sam(antha) to his new male name Lee and then started dating a Samantha! Well they both started out with the same birth name ... but it got very confusing when introducing his gf to family who only knew him as his female birth name and then trying to remember his new male name. Geez hope that makes sense! LG

I went to school with a stunning set of Identical twins called Anissa and Alissa. Talk about tongue tied and confusing sometimes. In my family us children all start with the letter "T" and all rhyme. We reckon mum had an affair with the 80's actor "MR T". :) Foxy

I guess some cultures have unisex names. I know Sikhs have unisex first name. It is also interesting to know their surname is not a surname but gender designator. As such their are only two surnames Singh for male and Kaur for females. So if you meet a male partner of a Sikh female you know and call him Mr Kaur it is technically incorrect.
