The smartest, nerdiest guy in school had the hottest woman, and the quiet girls had really blossomed into gorgeous sensual creatures. The guys mostly thought it was fashionable to wear a tyre underneath their belt.

Was bizarre and I didn't enjoy it much. People looked at me like I was strange because I had never been married and had no kids and spent lots of time traveling and shock horror had moved out of the area. The minute I said any of that it was like the conversation stopped... Where was there to go? Most people had married young, and were now into their second marriage, had children and still lived in the same suburb they grew up in and just had nothing of interest to say really. I realized what a snobby cow I was... But I was shocked at how only a handful of us had left the area to explore the world. The Sutherland Shire really is like a weird world of its own. All the girls looked great. Most of the men had really let themselves go. Some were unrecognizable and they looked years older than the girls.

Actually was the night before the last Sydney Meet and Greet strangely enough... my 20th School Reunion.Firstly, of the 40 or so people only 3 recognised me... I used to be the tall fat kid with the Johnny Farnham mullet so this much slimmer bald guy was asked by many people which of the girls from the year I was married too.Secondly, a girl I had a mad crush on who had NFI who I was introduced herself... she asked the "so who's your wife" question then proceeded to flirt with me (a lot). She went white then bright red when I explained that I was the annoying guy who had a massive crush on her for the last 2 years at school and she wouldn't give me the time of day back then. (So the lesson there kiddies is be nice because people can change)School reunions are awesome, I highly recommend attending them whenever possible.(P.S. Need a date? )SG

I went to one recently it was Ok I thought at first WOW I don't feel as old as everyone looks ... but once the night was underway it turned out to be a good laugh. The guys and girls I got along with at school were the same , some people I didn't know so well where great to chat with also. So the story goes two people were caught shagging in the guys toilets .. I never seen it and only heard about it after when we went to a bar near by for a few more drinks. Go .. whats the worst that can happen.. ends up being boring / then you can just leave

I tend to agree The women looked great and the guys who were still married looked like fat , unhealthy slobs. Only a handful of the blokes still played sport , surfed and look after their health .. I like to think I was one of them.

The not so good looking guy turned out to be quite handsome. ( No, I am not talking about myself. lol) It was good to catch up. Most of the people were very similar and as we did 20 years ago, we still went back to the cool guys parents place after to hang out, drink alcohol and party on. Funny though, the bitches at school are still snobby bitches to this day!!! Oh, They'll talk to you, but only just. lol.

It would have been fun to go. No such luck though, having emigrated and all. Ah well. Maybe I'll Facebook-stalk my old classmates.

Quoting 'Meeka100'People looked at me like I was strange because I had never been married and had no kids and spent lots of time traveling and shock horror had moved out of the area. Yes, yes and yes. Oh, and yes. Four more reasons I would have loved it. Dang.

Two years ago, we had our 40th since starting high school / 35th since sitting the HSC .. a fantastic night down at the Pymont Hotel with 97 of the 105 students turning up .. we partied on to 6am .. This year .. was the 100th anniversary of the opening of our school .. with a dinner for 500 former students and teachers ... a great night .. followed by an open day at the school the following day .. Interesting that ALL the women .. still had all their hair .. and still looking similar to their school times .. but 95% of the males had lost all their hair .. and being from the 70's era .. they HAD the most glorious long wavy locks back then .. but as they say .. Time moves .... and things change ... oh well ... looking forward to our next on in 2015 ..

For those who have met us, this may be hard to believe. In high school Mrs C was a quiet, nerdy, arty, bookworm. While cute, she did not turn many heads. Mr C was a jock with a very bogan mullet (although just quietly, he was also top of the class). Popular, but quite frankly a bit of a dick. In a large school our paths never crossed.A decade later and worlds away from our high school personas, we both reluctantly turned up at the reunion expecting the worst. Instead we found each other. No one ever missed anything interesting saying yes.Mr C

Most people equate reunions to when they were back in school, leave the baggage behind and enjoy. I've had an absolute blast at each of mine

I have my 20 year reunion coming up as well and I didn't make it to my 10 year because I was working in another part of the state. I know I'm one of the few that remain unmarried and without kids so it will be interesting to see what happens. I'm friends with a few on Facebook but it remains to be seen how things go. I was one of the music crowd so not overly popular but most would speak to me away from the 'cool group'. I imagine nothing has really changed over the years.- Posted from rhpmobile
