It is a British study and there are a lot of details, so let it be enough to say that Sainsbury's Living Well Index is what to search for if you want to know deeper, more specific details. I will add the info that the study was based on 18 specific factors: Finances include...Disposable incomeArrears Health includes...Mental healthPhysical mobility Environment includes...Rural/urbanSpending time indoorsTransport links Community Connections includes...Support networkChatting to neighbours Relationships includes...Sex life satisfactionHealth of your close relativesActive parenthoodRelationship statusEating socially Lifestyles includes...Sleep quality Economic activitySocialising Alcohol consumption Thoughts for us in Oz? Travelling and experiencing another country and culture...last year I backpacked on my own through Morocco, part of the Sahara and Egypt, money is worth fcuk all if you don't have some amazing memories and pics of travels when you get old.

Exercise, sex (more exercise) and sleep. Not in any particular order 😉 Everything else then falls into place. Balanced diet but not anal about that, still like my junk, just burn it off 👍

Excess frequent alcohol consumption might be not great, but again, in moderation, or bursts, not every day, most people are fine. I think sleep is the most important

How work or job satisfaction doesn't rate a mention I'd also throw in flexible hours. Finances I'd look at future savings like super.

If your financially sound , stay active , moderate socialising , able to express yourself both mentally , physically and sexually , having your children in a happy place , not trying to be everything to everyone , ( I know ppl like that and they end up confused narks ) .. moderate alcohol consumption . Smiling ( a biggy ) , considerate , and of course a good sense of humour.. Regardless to what ppl say, life is not a level playing field ' so do what makes you happy and it'll rub off on those around you..

It's funny that you mention that because job security shows in the top 8 but it's not in the factors??? I was going to go into it further and list the top 8 but didn't because of that... Here you go now though... 1) Sleep2) Sex life3) Job security4) Health of close relatives5) Chatting to neighbours6) Support network7) Child at home8) Relationship status My 8 would be very different I think, I'll list it later, Peachy

The hard part sometimes. And I got distracted again by the fact that there was something on the list that I can't find in the attributes list. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. You paint a beautiful picture Sting. Funny enough the Jurassic Movie theme music is playing in the background. Not only a great background but to think of the greed that ran through the movies is ironic. It didn't make anyone happy did it!? Thanks Touch. I like how balanced that sounds... I hear a bit different types of drinks do have health benefits and chocolate and salt, lol. So, all in balance. Thanks Jayme, good to see ya. I love that... "Do what makes you happy" is a great philosophy to live by. Thanks for the replies guys, I think it's good to think about what it is that makes a good life for ourselves. Who remembers the show, The Good Life on ABC long time gone? Loved that show... Peachy

I was watching, "Are You Being Served" on free to air last night... Sooo funny. I haven't seen it for a while, but "Love my Neighbour" was a killer too. Laughing is high on the good life list... Peachy

Yes laughter is important too isn't it? And crying I think, releasing emotion instead of bottling it up, at least I find that healthy. I don't cry much currently, though the odd love interest has bought on the waterworks 😉 The other thing is relaxation to find inner peace, the beach does that for me, exercise does too strangely, I feel at peace with music, fresh air and my thoughts 😇

Crying is not well enough recognised I reckon. How special is that scientists say we are the only animal to cry. And that different emotions create different chemicals in our tears. I have always had my moments, lots of history there... I think my biggest problem is how much it can disturb people but for a while earlier on, it took all I had. The excercise releases feel good chemicals I've heard but can't say I've noticed... I tend to move into a state of exhaustion. My thought for the day is how awesome succeeding is. We set up a worm farm yesterday and they are looking settled. I can't wait to start feeding our new pets, lolol. The roses are starting to show touches of colour. The back yard is so much more comfy and a place to go to rather than avoid, lol. We got a bit short of space for a while while we were overcrowded here for a while. We get to listen to listen to music while we work... <3 it! I feel quite satisfied right now... Well kinda, got me some lovin' on my mind. Peachy xo
