Should Pics Be Dated?

February 27 2013

Having read all the Threads and Posts on people who are nothing like their pics...I was wondering! Do you feel that pics should be dated when Uploaded to RHP? And should that date be shown on ALL pics so we get the gist of how old the pic really is? Should fake pics of models and actors bodies be allowed? Should people who don't have ANY pics on their profile, not even in PG be allowed to join? After all this is a site to meet other like minded people! xFunlovingx

Not sure how it would be checked...even with verification some seem to be able to get some pics through that are not of them.If it was bought in....I may just have to update my pics!

pics could be dated, and they could be properly 'vetted' as to suitability, origin and content. we admit that we are lax with our pics, and have been slow to update...which is silly, as we have so many, lol... perhaps along with dating the pics....a regular 'verification' process could occur...say once every six months or so? might stir people into action??

What an invitation! Love to take pix of you - I have a great DSLR camera and I yearn to take glamour-boudoir-cheese-lingerie-sexy-intimate-explicit pix. A major fantasy/desire of mine is to have access to a woman who has time and ideas for pix to be taken. I'm not a professional by any means, but have a good eye, taken zillions of pix over the years, but have yet to start on this path. I would enjoy refining technique, learning together, having fun ... safely, no strings, no expectations, but for mutual pleasure. You get great pix, and I get to learn, improve and become a better photographer. Win-win.All of my own pix are selfies, using either my laptop cam, phone, or my little, non-DSLR digital camera with self-timer on a tripod, or chair, furniture, whatever works. Lots of fun can be had trying out lighting, angles and poses, and of course if you aren't totally satisfied with some of them, you can always crop, edit or toss them, and refine as you go, try again. Yes, it needs plenty of time and privacy, but once you get into it, it can be enormous fun, and very stimulating. You soon learn what works and what doesn't. And sometimes the rough'n'ready pix can be much more dynamic and interesting than the more "posed" ones. Love it! Another technique I have is to shoot video, looking at the monitor screen/phone screen to see what works, and pose, remain still for a few seconds, and/or adjust, and keep going until I think I have enough to work from. I then extract frames from the video as photos, edit it and crop, and there you have a sequence, or set, of images. It's so much easier to be hands-free, which is why having someone take the pix is faster, fun to share, etc. And using the video technique I find is a good alternative, but a lot more work. But if you have the time, not a problem. And yes, a get-together at someone's house, hotel, secluded secret place, for a pix session sounds a fabulous idea to me ...

There are two steps in photo age verification, one is when the picture was taken and the other is when the picture was uploaded. You would think the 2nd would be very easy to implement by RHP...but being controversial...would they want to? Is it in their advertising interests to date pictures that were first uploaded 8 or 9 years ago in some cases?i personally wouldn't have any problem with that and, with some web site changes they could easily add another field for uploading pictures whereby you have to enter an approximate date that the picture was taken. I've never hidden the fact that some of our photos are a few years old, but we do try and add some each year so there is always something fairly recent, and we try and make sure the most recent ones are the first ones you see (even though they aren't the best ones!)

But what happens if I have a picture taken of me 10 years ago and I uploaded it yesterday it will still have a timestamp of yesterday. If its been up for a couple of years I can just delete it and re-add it. Always a way around things for people who are untruthful I agree with your frustration though FL

Most digital cameras thes days embed time stamps into the photo. I dont think it would be too hard for RHP to read this information in the upload process. Geo tagging is common as well when your camera is connected to a gps. There is a lot more information stored in photos than just the pixel data.

EXIF data in the image file is a good way for the RHP approval Gods to check the date.We could also grab a piece of A4, write the date nice and big with a sharpie and our Username....then take a photo of us holding it as verification.....not the sexiest of shots, but truthful.

Quoting 'Araps'But what happens if I have a picture taken of me 10 years ago and I uploaded it yesterday it will still have a timestamp of yesterday. Always a way around things for people who are untruthful I agree with your frustration though FL maybe RHP can only accept pics that are datestamped by the camera thats taken the shot? or the verification process could take into consideration whether or not the verification pic/s match the profile pic/s?

...then profiles should be certified as "written by one's own-self, without the assistance of a real grown up".

Pics that are of someone else should not be allowed. I don't think we should make people have pics if they don't want to, we can always ignore them and the search option does allow us to choose to only view profiles with pics. Sometimes I don't feel like having a pic up, for a while I had a particular reason for that. Really I could just have a pic of my feet and what does that do for anyone who wants to see pics.I'm here for the forums mainly and don't see that I should have to provide a pic for like minded people who are interested in meeting my personality.Peachy

We are regulated enough in our lives. Pretty soon we may all need to wear a barcode on the back of our necks. Yes it is a pain when someone does not look like thier pics. That is what cam and first meetings with no expectations are all about. I can take a pic of me when I was a teenager, and upload it from my phone. It will have todays date on it.

What you are saying I can understand totally! If people are here just for Forums and/or Chat then I don't see a reason for them to have any pics up! I am mainly talking about people who are on here to meet others! There is nothing worse than getting a message from a guy asking me for more pics and he has NONE!!! I am like "Are you serious"? Also the men that have old pics...before I insisted on cam before a meet I met one guy that was totally fake, he didn't look anything like the guys pic on the profile (I walked out on him) and I had met a couple of guys who's pics were 50kgs ago and ten years ago! That is the angle I am coming from ... people who are here to meet should have dated pics so we know how old they really are and make a choice to meet or not from there! xFunlovingx

and thanks for taking the time to go into it deeper. I do see where you are coming from and you do make some sense. I absolutely agree I would like to see photos better policed. The thing is if all profiles are expected to have pics (in the pg even), mine will be too no matter what I am here for. Sometimes I like to have no pics and I'm not sure a lot of poeple would want to have to have a pic either, discretion being their want. Another issue is a lot of people don't even know how to upload photos.I can understand the frustration of people not looking like their photos though. The idea of dating pics appeals to me more but I'm not sure how the dating system would work, one idea is it could be compared to the verification photo I suppose. Cheers... Peachy
