So if BBW is a thing...

bbw

Is there a BBB for Big Beautiful Blokes or are they just fat? Seems one of the few gender specific euphemisms that actually favours females the more I think about it. Meh. Just bored and saw a larger lady's profile describing herself as such and got to wondering.. lol

Perhaps In all fairness and equality, there should also be the term SSW (sexy slim woman) ? But that will be sure to cause a furore and be labeled as pretentious, stuck up and plastic by the BBW brigade. Best to have no such labels in our opinion.

Im a fatty DC36 and don't subscribe to the BBW tagline (or any of these BBW Brigades of which you speak) ..... just a precious way of saying you're fat in my opinion. I'd rather people just call a spade a shovel..... if your skinny you're skinny, if you're fat youre fat.... simples🤷‍♀️

I'll let my staff (all male) know so they can stop calling each other er...inappropriate names! lol

I think the BBW movement comes from there being a lot of shaming of fat women. I'm not sure that men hear weight-shaming to the same degree. I've never heard a woman say she doesn't like chubby men, but I think there should be more acceptance of scrawny men

BBW (and similar acronyms) exist to reclaim and lift the status of historically marginalised groups. Perhaps they've been too successful and the "skinny brigade" feel like they're missing out 😉

I'm curvy, big and beautiful. Well, and a woman. It's still 3 letters and while I don't subscribe to labels being given, if people want to take them on, it's no skin off my nose. Mind you, that would help take some of that fat off... I'm also bold. Peachy

And the question. Dad bods is what sprang to mind as a fairly recent description. Bigger bodies used to be the thing, and there are so many delicious word to describe with. Marilyn Monroe was a big, curvy woman herself. Oh well, I wonder how uncomfortable I should feel with my body sometimes and figure I've never felt better in my life after many years of binging and starving. A family member is on her way to being formalised as a personal trainer and will be helping me out with the fitness angle. Peachy

Oh yes, because big isn't necessarily fat and that is something people could do with getting their heads around. Peachy

It's spelled... Thicc Confidence is just the sexiest (but not immediately recognisable) attribute in a person, imo. Size, weight, colour, looks... all meh. Love the space between your eyes.. and eyes will follow you across the room. Love the body you're in, bodies will gravitate towards you.

Call yourself whatever you want is the way I few it but don’t get all pissed if others call you something else. If you are a larger person and want to use bbw or bhm. Or any other such things then why not same if your skinny Minnie or pocket rocket or the million other names.

Quoting 'PeachyPearL' Marilyn Monroe was a big, curvy woman herself. They've measured clothes Marilyn wore and yes she had curves but she was by no means a big woman. She was about the equivalent of today's size 8. Clothes sizing was quite different back then.

And you're spot on, thanks. The best I found was that she weighed 63 kgs which is not large I agree. I'll mention one of the women of Lil Mix instead, my favourite one but don't ask me their names. She is significantly larger than the rest of the girls as you can see in some clips but not at all fat from what I can see. 🍑 😊

Most profiles I see ask for fit muscly dudes. Seems to me that the stereotype is men don't like big women, and women don't like non-buff guys.
