Because women aren't supposed to enjoy sex is their reasoning I suppose. I have read articles/books that suggest that women deep down are more promiscuous then men and that they become bored with having sex with the one partner more quickly than the man does. But we are brain washed and slut shamed as children into thinking we shouldn't be like that. So I say, that statement is totally untrue.

What that article says is a 50/50 split between right and wrong in terms of reasoning. I have heard many stories in the real world that a lot of women do pretend to be able to accept open marriage, just to keep their other halves happy and continue to stay married to them! One lady in particular (a friend of a friend), whom didn't want an open marriage nor swinging at all, but because her then hubby loved that lifestyle, she had to pretend to be good with the idea and went to swingers clubs and events with her ex and was silently forced to swap partners with other couples, watched her ex had sex with other women in front of her, etc. I don't know how long she was doing that for, but I'm glad that she eventually picked up her courage to end her marriage because, her ex just wouldn't quit his sexual lifestyle. I don't know if having sex outside the primary relationship is a form of liberation, OP, as I have never had an open relationship to date, nor do I think I can take open relationship knowing my own personality. But I do know that the world has changed and women are now able to pursue their sexual desire/fantasy without getting judged harshly. - Posted from rhpmobile

if they felt my body/arousal from the inside out, how I feel it that is, with the nerve endings awake and ready for action, heightened sensation and responses, ready for touch they would have thrown the article in the fire before it hit the printing press but then I'm like a guy with my down to business approach to sex. I did say I'd grown a set of balls in here didn't I ? hmm

That opened our relationship and it was hard for hubby to cope. And he is still adjusting. But there a lot of swinging couples where the female partner is doing it more to appease her partner than because it's what she wants to do. Again I think there's a mix of people's feelings in these situations and one brush does not paint a picture 😉

For us our motivation to enjoy this lifestyle was just as the article stated " seeking variety" I have said this before but I was born with a kink for MFM, so Mrs S is having the time of her life, and I don't fell oppressed in anyway or feel like I have lesser importance in our relationship. Our experiences have been a ton of fun, lots of hot sex and smiles all round.

When people post these sort of topics I like to read the original source article. Can you tell me what to google to find it, because I tried and only found one from The Guardian that is titled ''Polyamorous women aren't just 'pleasing their man' - it's a choice''. It is actually refuting the idea that women open up their partnerships to please men, and as a frequent Guardian reader I'd say articles on there lean much more heavily towards being sex positive and very pro women's empowerment where sex is concerned. P.S. Not sure if you're just having a joke with the socialist rag comment, but I read the Guardian because anything from the Murdoch media neo-liberal wet dream stable makes me want to vomit up my breakfast

My man is only going along with it to please me but that is just the way he rolls. My pleasure always comes first before his own. And I do it to please noone but myself because I am selfish 😝 - Posted from rhpmobile

But can be done on the run as you don't need to clean anything up!! It can also be excused by saying you're training your gag reflex lol

What a misleading idea that the OP has intended in this topic! I have certainly learned something new from this thread and that is, not to make anymore response to a topic with a quote from some kind of said article or document! 😏 - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'Summersolstice' What the Guardian actually says is: Take for example, the bias that “women only open up their relationships to please variety-seeking men”, which Anna North admitted was often assumed to be the case in an article on why we should be less “freaked out” by polyamory. The article (which they link to) is one from feminist website Jezebel, and it's certainly not against polyamory. Typical example of a quote being taken out of context. I hadn't realised you'd cross posted. :-Peachy

Quoting 'Luck_Dragon' P.S. SummerSolstice, Just a joke about the Socialist rag. It's an article about articles. Yes, it comes off more balanced than the articles it references. Sure the OP t was baiting, but the considered responses in this thread were appreciated. We've met couples with a range of reasons for being in the lifestyle, but the most common one is mutual consent. Doing stuff to please one or other partner is always going to stuff a relationship over time.

Back in the distant past when my wife and were some what into swinging we had two instances where we met couples where the wife said she wasn't keen on swapping but was only doing it to please hubby. With one couple we met them for a meal and it was fun and flirtatous. We invited them back to our motel room my wife having the hots for hubby and him being very keen to fuck. The wife said she only wanted to watch and wasn't up for sex, and me being agreeable went along with that. My wife and her hubby started stripping and getting into it while we sat on the divan and watched. As they started to get into it the wife started putting moves on me and couldn't hold back from dropping her dress and showing me her sexy underwear. Hubby seeing her starting to get sexy with me, (now I did go along with her but certainly wasn't the instigator) got a dose of jealousy and called a halt to proceedings. A similar thing happened with a couple at a swingers party. My wife and hubby had the hots for each other so off to a bedroom where the arrangement was they would fuck and the wife only wanted to kiss and cuddle. I was fine with that and so the action started. The wife got right into kissing and cuddling and started undressing me , and hubby on noticing this mid fuck got an attack of jealousy and actually stopped mid fuck. From my observation , and maybe its a generalisation but men often are keen and drag their partner into swinging and often its the woman who actually enjoys the freedom and liberation of swinging more.

we are a married couple who want to experience pleasure together, it was my wife who suggested we contact a female or couple .So many couples lately around us are splitting (after kids are growing up )because their to scared to say whats they want and fantacise about. it natural to want fun and excitement but be open and honest,
