People do bite in the sandpit, so thick skin is required. I think the reason the majority of regulars are around that age group is because of confidence. I put things out there to be laughed at. I'm happy with myself, so I can take the retorts without it damaging my ego. Well, to be honest, with an ego as big as mine, it can do with a little reality to keep it in check.

Funlover is right. You can't come here looking for others to validate you. Sometimes we will, sometimes we won't ;) But I think the main reason most young ones aren't here is because they're all rather focused on getting laid! Though I do think a few might quietly monitor things. - Posted from rhpmobile

Younger guys sometimes come across too abrasive and get shot down for it. So as Funlover said, you do need a thick skin as well as a sense of humour to play here. But welcome to the forums, now come here so that I can bite you

Too busy getting laid to waste their time pontificating ? as you get older such constraints become less of an issue. The confidence to feel you have something to contribute and perceived wisdom accumulate with age to an extent ... I think if you (as a young person) posted on a topic relevant to and directed at young people you would draw them out. Good on you for breaking the ice and joining in.

I'm currently 24 and will be turning 25 this year and am an avid poster and replier on the forums. Is 25 considered old? lol Taby xx

Don't think any of you are too old ;), but you are quite young Taby, I wouldn't dare consider you old at all :) And I don't mind being bitten a little ;)

What's your definition of young/old buddy? You mentioned dominated by 40+ (was that pun intended?), is that meaning 39 below is young? The common denominators are 35-60, but if 40 plus is old does that mean 50 plus is REALLY OLD? I think there's a really good age mix in here, but it does tend to start from 25/26+ which is statistically where real life experience begins: you leave home, lose the job and start the career, have loved and lost, have moved on from Goosebumps and Roald Dahl books - there's a little more value to life starting and with it comes the conversations you'll find here. I do agree with Imprezario too, maybe you should start some topics to get them out of the woodwork and away from the 'wood-work' :)

I always just thought that youngsters aren't all that common on this site? After all membership is costs money that I would say many people in their early 20s don't have! I haven't posted too much as of yet because many topics that have been posted in these forums in the past (not all) have been covered on other forums and blogs I read. They've gotten pretty interesting lately on this site, though. So I think I may dive into this sandpit after all...

my favourite posters are under 30....simply because they often have a totally different viewpoint which challenges my thinking.

I was surrounded by eligible single options, and was having as much sex as I wanted at the time. No need to go "looking" so to speak. Being single now is different and I need to reach out and find my options rather than having them drop in my lap, so many people my age are in long term relationships and have bound themselves to another person so tightly that they may never be eligible again. Also when I was 22 I had less issues with sleeping with my friends, nowadays I want to keep my friends FRIENDS and not blur those lines so instead I seek new people. Perhaps the dynamics of my choices help explain the minority of young people on here? As far as forum contribution, regardless of age, the more the merrier!

Quoting 'Meeka100'I thought the young ones were out having fun? That's what I would've doing. :D Joining a swingers site would not have occurred to me twenty years ago. I was having lots of fun, though it was rather vanilla, looking back. Nothing wrong with that of course, though I felt I was missing something. It was only after I left a long-term relationship that I started to truly experiment and became interested in playing with couples, as well as further exploring my bi side. Welcome, young 'un. Don't let us ruin you for the normal world of dating.

I'm still trying to reconcile what old means to me, and it seems to be settling on I'm not 20 any more. I don't feel old but this site and others does to a degree classify by age. And I guess Im in the same boat. It's interesting reading the diversity of views young and "old".

Just because you are no longer "young", doesn't mean you are old, I never actually said any of you were old :)
