Speed dating

Have you tried it? What are your experiences with it if you have tried it? I have tried it, and found it both confronting (meeting a heap of new people in a very short span of time) and enjoyable because I found I could control my anxiety. I made two matches based on the women's results and mine, but both of those contacts evaporated in the days after because one decided she couldn't accept my work pattern and family situation, and the other had a 'family crisis' and said she will be unavailable to talk for an indeterminate period of time.

Never tried it, but always thought it would be fun. Have actually wondered whether speed dating could be adapted to couples for an interesting meet and greet type event...

Took some time pondering this ? And came to the conclusion it would be a fun thing and interesting to try.. Be good if rhp could organize something , im sure there would be lots of takers ...

Went to one in Perth around late 2018. I thought it was crap, mainly because the women out numbered the men about 3:1. Perhaps if I'd been one of the men I would have had a more favourable experience. 😉 Also, I suppose I was expecting sitting at a table and everyone rotates every few minutes... But this was basically people just milling around. Might have been better with a different host as well 😂

The one I went to had more women than men at both the sessions I attended (I got offered to do two due to lack of men in age groups I 'crossed over'). I found that bizarre as anecdotally online dating sites reportedly have a man to woman member ration of 10:1 or a lot higher.

I enjoyed the one I went to but that's going back 5 years. Though a bit nerve racking to begin with. It had the women sitting down and the guys went from table to table. Only issue is it's on a weeknight in Perth which means getting there after work is a bit rushed. I still get emails from them come through
