Starter and/or finisher?

December 09 2016

I love hobbies but I never go all the way. Are you a starter and not a finisher like me? Studied most of my financial planning diploma, almost got to black belt in TaeKwonDo, almost got to perform in Brazilian Dance troup, but I said stuff it. I've had my fun...still talk to some ex-bf cos there was a period in your life when you were close to that person and you still wish them well, deep inside, right? When is something ever finished though? A work of art is never finished... your life is never finished until you die. Keep trying or give up? - Posted from rhpmobile

I've been renovating my home for years and never seem to finish , although almost everything I start I gotta finish or it'll play on my mind. Comes from the many years playing professional football ( NRL ) That taught me to give my all . Can't think of anything left unfinished ATM . So I don't think I'm a almost person, only on some things .

To me is about choices....but it's never finished....it's a constant state of evolution.... I love flying planes, I just haven't had the time or the money to finish my students licence despite having about 25hrs of air time up my sleeve. Yes I'll get back into it as it's an awesome way to see the country.... Same with camping - Posted from rhpmobile

is a constant learning process. I start lots of stuff, some of it I leave, some of it I finish, some of it will never be finished. Ive travelled all over Australia and parts of the world. But there is so much more to see. Ive held many jobs, but I still look to find that project that will give me something fun to sink my teeth into. Ive also had many hobbies, they come and go depending on where I am at in life at that time. Mostly I aspire to learn, gain knowledge, skills, challenge myself, challenge those around me, enjoy life...ENJOY LIFE!

But I am a finisher. I would not be here, or be where I am now in life, if I wasn't a finisher! Being someone that came from a third world country, I didn't get the luxury of not going all the way to the end with things :) hence, I have develoed the habit of completing what I've started and so I don't give up half way. - Posted from rhpmobile

I commit to something I will finish it.It doesn't however mean that I will necessarily want to do it again. Books are different ,if I am not enjoying reading a book I won't finish it.The same with movies. I won't sit through a boring film,I get up and leave. Q

Yep I'm a starter, never finish a single thing, except my guys, always complete that task 😉 But everything else in life ADHD I get bored very easily and don't see the point in finishing something if it's no longer enjoyable. I've actually stopped sex a few times when I'm bored 😀

We are constantly evolving and so is the world around us. I guess though a lot of the younger generation impulsive, but I've always been like that 'Blame it on my ADD baby' I've started and not finished countless things. Like Q - a movie or a book that hasn't grabbed me usually gets cut short, although I'm more likely to see a movie out than a book. I've started studying and stopped on a few occasions - a teaching degree was my last. But there's a reason I stopped. I don't see it as a waste, I see everything as a learning experience. If I had two subjects to go, I would have pushed through. But I'd only done my first year. To me there's not point in continuing study for the sole purpose of obtaining a piece of paper and adding letters to your name. Either you're doing it for career advancement and that's the driving force, or it's something you're passionate about - in which case you'll probably continue regardless of where it will lead you. But if neither applies then I don't see the point. Something like renovating annoys me, our bathroom was started 14 years ago and has never been finished. Drives me crazy and now we at the stage where we probably need to do it again anyway. I'd like my home to be my sanctuary but it's hard when every room in the house has been half started. I have stacks of unfinished art projects in cupboards around the house, along with supplies enough to open my own craft store! Babies got in the way, sickness, renovations and a loss of inspiration. But the beauty is i can always pick up a brush or a pencil again when the time is right. There's a big difference in finishing something due to passion, satisfaction or necessity, and finishing something because that's the way 'things should be done.'

That's cool :) I did finish some things though like my degree - (I'm a Bachelor! Lol) long service leave at work, 2 working holiday visas in different continents and some other things I don't need to share but sometimes it's good to get to your goals when you're motivated/inspired and stick with it. To look back at your accomplishments is so soul satisfying :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Sad to say that I'm a gonna not a do'er, a starter not a finisher ..... I believe a lot of it comes from alcohol inspired ideas hahaha ( speaking for myself of course ) I' m generally a great planner but if there is something missing for me to be able to finish...that's mostly where it stops for a long period of time. I' m creative outside and good with my hands but my ideas are also always expensive. Also I lose motivation quickly. However, I did finally finish my new duck area for mamma and her soon to be ducklings 🐣🐣today 😀

However that doesn't mean I finish everything. I have 2 books that I still have to finish (one was recently turned in to a movie), but I only tend to pick them up when the mood strikes me. I also have a movie that i could not finish, but that's due to it making my stomach turn. I have not finished 1 course (times by 3) at TAFE, and that black mark on my record haunts me, to the point that I hope it doesn't bite me in the arse in my future study endevours. However I do like to finish what I start, as the feeling of accomplishing something just fills me with pride

I don't always finish what I start but I guess that comes a part of who I am... I finish most things... like when I start cooking dinner I definitely finish... when I suck on hubby's cock, I definitely finish... its all good so long as you know your priorities as to what needs to be done now and what can be done later. And some things need the time taken to perfect... - Posted from rhpmobile

with Attention to detail, lol. I am in the middle of sooo many things. BUT... that's right... but we have reached a new level at home with much acrimony, love and achievement in the last few weeks or so nonetheless. LOL. I still have details to go deeper into but I left the fun stuff for last. And I feel like I am all the better for having gone through the struggle. It was too funny when Mr P introduced an argument to me that I used to use on him in the past. How we change. Peachy Ahem, still editing the photos I want to add to the electronic photo frame I got for a gift last year. Decisions, decisions...

it's what inspires/motivates us to finish or make progress on something. Is it a promise you made to yourself or someone or maybe it's your routine? Maybe you wanna get your next hit like an addiction? I think it depends on how obsessed we get by something to accomplish and how far we want to go, what hurdles we must jump. Some love what they do for a living because they are completely obsessed, live and breathe it, like an invisible force pulls or pushes them and spend hours perfecting their skills, even dedicate their life to it :o Some things aren't worth doing, depends if your heart is aligned with your head....? OMG my head hurts, I'm going to bed haha - Posted from rhpmobile
