Im with Meander. I would prefer late August /early September as the weather is warmer. The warmer than weather the skimpier the outfits lol. Seriously I can't do July , so if you can change it I'm in. - Posted from rhpmobile

no can do that weekend as I'll be either here or overseas with about 30 other dudes getting sweaty and banging hard with black rubber while people watch ;) Good luck in organising it though slickz, for that time of year make sure you pick a venue with a good indoors area, the Watershed has been popular in the past. (I'd probably start it a little later than 5pm too)

Alright - late August it is then. I guess this thread can be Quoting 'Jay_me' .... ladies hate having to shave their legs and other things in the colder months, and July is still shrinkage weather... Think your good intentions may be a few months early... Just sayin.... lol - organizing anything more than a week in advance is a strange occurrence for me. There is one venue which I am (90% sure) is too far away, but would be really fun for a day event - if we got 10 or so attendees. The north sydney bowling club, (this isn't the actual name of the venue) - it's been redone to have a really funky bar and nice restaurant, there are really nice views of the bridge, live music and gold ol'australian lawn bowls. (do a google, should find the place)

You can organize any event you want as long as you havr access to the events area. So hiik up with a friend who is.not membership challenged. A small meet and greet will do and always good to have something social. And why not? If there nothing planned in the horizon, I say 'go for it'. Heck I might even show up as I believe I will be there for work. I'll share a drink with you, Eye of Mordor.

lol nice, i do really like the venue. but on second thoughts its a silly suggestion. Most would have to drive. Definitely hold it somewhere central. Maybe around the rocks, circ quay or darling harbour.

Why not try.... Surry Hills/Redfern...... something like The Norfolk at 305 Cleveland St.Large indoor/outdoor area..... heated, nearby parking, easy in, easy out, good food, good range of drinks, closer to transport Just a thought.

The last Melbourne M&G was outside, 5 degrees and over 100 people showed up. Cooler weather is great for parties, the need to huddle and cuddle ....

If people can agree on a venue, I'm happy to put an event up. People can then register their interest themselves. So folks (without naming venues directly), Surry Hills or Darling Harbour (the place we've had several meet and greets before?).

This sounds interesting. Still haven't made it to a Meet and Greet - need to tick that box. Since I'm not sure what venues have been used in the past - my lack-of-insight-suggestion would be somewhere in Surry Hills. Mainly due to the location of a couple of other saucy venues, in case anyone gets lucky / decides to do a joint jaunt to OSS or CC. (but really, to be honest, its because I love Surry Hills)

Can anyone who's been to the Cleveland Street place tell me if it would be big enough for a group of say 30-50? We've had about 50-80 in summer so I'm expecting a few less to turn up.

as long as there is accommodation close by I don't mind where it is. Only thing I'll say about the last venue I went to in Sydney is the area was to small and not conducive to mingling and noisy when the music starts so hard to talk.

No I didn't - I just assumed based on the sheer number of single men on here vs others, that it would be an indication of the attendees. I'm glad to hear otherwise! :) Most of the couples I've spoken to on here are lovely.

We traditionally have one in October but won't be doing so this year so we are not in competition with the national meet and greet/event. The Melb organisers are getting together in the next week or two to start planning so stay tuned folks. I know they will get the event posting up so everyone gets 6-8 weeks notice....helps the interstaters plan.
