Seems to me the only group of PEOPLE that argue for the dropping of labels amongst society, are the very same group of PEOPLE that are fighting for their own little category. Think I'll just call them PEOPLE. - Posted from rhpmobile

there isn't a tick box on the RHP profile for "'person",I assume you ticked male for your profile...Mea it is utterly ridiculous to not have a separate tick box....not to mention confusing......so yes I think transsexual and transvestite should be separate xx Q

of course they should be separate.

It also makes a difference to those who are selecting who they are wishing to communicate with. Some people are seeking fun with a transvestite, not a transsexual and vice versa. Could make for some awkward questioning in an already awkward situation (for some) when it could be more clear cut.

You're either of male anatomy....or female anatomy. It matters not if you choose to lead a TV identity. It matters not if your anatomy has been a result of surgery to align your body with which you identify with. To me, you're no less of a person however you are. :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Doh, not what I meant, just hear the term 'fun' too much!

I'll copy RHP's response to my message here, with Melanie's permission. Hello, Thank you for your message. We completely understand the difference between people who choose to cross dress as a sexual or social interest and people who have transitioned to another gender and choose to live life as the opposite sex and will look at changing the member type accordingly. We probably will not implement those changes until we have embarked on our next website update so while a petition isn't necessary, we may only be able to offer a superficial change at best in the short term. Bear with us however and we will ensure that difference is recognised. Melanie Woods I have some tiny issues with the semantics, but:

Quoting 'sir_stir' You're either of male anatomy....or female anatomy. Mostly true (I won't go into the intersex issue), but the anatomy you're born with does not determine which gender you are. A transgender woman, whether pre- or post-op, may choose the "Female" box (pun not intended) because she is. But there needs to be an option to choose based on what she knows, feels and is comfortable putting out there, I think.

of us mortals who have not had many interactions with Transsexual Transvestite or Transgender people its hard to know whether we offend someone or not. I would never in my dreams offend anyone out of sheer nastiness, it could only, be because I don't know what to look for and how to say the right thing. So maybe its really not that easy for people LIKE ME>As Sir said for us who have not many interactions with these "humans" I don't know how to address them.See even writing about it I feel I am saying something wrong.

I see the idea that you want. A drop box that selects TS, with another box to tick which gender you indentify with and also a box for anatomical gender. I agree intersex is a whole different ball game. Gender is most commonly based upon anatomical specifics. A classic example of this would be public toilets. How many anatomical men who identify their gender as a woman use the female only toilets?? Thank god for the increasing number of unisex toilets. I just feel as though - and maybe it's a too "idealistic" - we concentrate too much on separating ourselves into different classifications we forget that gender, and the like really doesn't affect the "PEOPLE" that we are. We over complicate things so much that wonder people become overwhelmed and depressed. At least not in my mind. :) - Posted from rhpmobile

A separate tick box here on RHP for gender/personal identity and a clothes dressing fetish would be most appropriate for many reasons. This has been documented well in other threads if any forum members are interested to take the time to read up a little. I have also recommended a movie here before about a transgendered woman called Trans America that gave a great deal of insight into the lives, plights and challenges of transgendered people with warmth and humility. A great way to start a learning curve, as like Litonia has said, most of us here do not know any TS people or will get the chance to interact with them personally, hence the gap in understanding of them as people.

all have to walk in someone shoes first before we can judge anybody that's total right Smilingwithfun. That's why is it important not to judge. And Meander I hope I didn't come across as un- polite because it wasn't my intention.Human or Mensch as in my language would just mean anybody, doesn't matter of Gender.....

RHP administration should also separate CD from TV and TS, it would improve the search function tremendously

Rarely would I speak for everyone, though in this case, I just believe it would be fair to say that no one here would even think for a second you would say something rude, no matter what you say. And if buy chance you did say something rude, then you would have to have a real good reason for it. So it would not even be rude then Mado Mado Tara xx

But, I don't care if you're a TV/TS, gay, bi, bi-curious, a stoner, a loner, a funny man/woman/person, intersex, bi-polar. We shit, sleep, spew, laugh, cry, eat, etc all the same. Once people accept that, and truly accept it, there will be no need to categorise anyone. Categorisation is the biggest discriminator the human race displays. And.... It's our own biggest downfall. - Posted from rhpmobile

Sir_stir, your philosophy is sound, up until you, personally, are looking for a date and, good lord, possibly sex with an uncategorised person. Best possible representation of the member that another member is going to meet is what many topics on the forum have been about, and the expectations/disappointments from unclear or even misrepresentation. But moreso, the issue here is not for seekers, but for the members who's profile this affects, and the correct representation of their identity for their own benefit I would reason. (Damn, autocorrect almost got me with correcting the word correct to colorectal. Anywhos...)

Quoting 'sir_stir' Don't they do that now though?? No, Transgenders can't check the TS box, as it's still TV/TS. Which is exactly my point. How would you feel if for sexual orientation you had two choices only: Straight/BiGay Stir, would you not want Straight and Bi to have their own box?

I get your point albeit the exuberant vocabulary displayed there unrushed :p Maybe I just don't see it as something to worry over so much as:- A) I am not faced with that situation B) to me it's a minuscule detail compared to me knowing who I am. Though in my job, I do face very stigmatic responses. Eg. Drugs, family killers(yep I've been called that before). But it's me. I know that I'm a person of integrity, funny fucker at times etc....but if I needed a check box to define me, my orientation, when instead I could show my pride through the actions I take; the words I write; and the love I show to others, I'd be doing myself a disservice by downplaying it in a checkbox. I do understand it's simply a means of making it specific to distinguish between cross dressing, and a complete anatomical transformation. I also understand it's about giving people the opportunity - like feminism. So I'll agree to continue to disagree, and thank thee for such fine wordsmanship. :) - Posted from rhpmobile

I just cannot fathom the point of forcing people to place themselves into categories. If you're attracted to someone's profile, surely that's all that really matters to a able you to start up a discourse? Hugs Gazpacho

This is a site designed for attracting what kind of little bit of frivolity you are after. Pure and simple. There need only be 3 options as Face book now does. Maybe RHP are better off defining what we are more into in the orientation options and how we describe ourselves. ANTHINg Awww plese Melanie, Put pansexual
