I dont get the whole tantric sex thing I cant get my head around the fact, that you cant get naked and you cant touch your partner....like Why would not want to do that ?? UM HELLO ?????

I would imagine that often tantric workshops are for beginners, therefore offer a safe space for exploration of the philosophy, whilst clothed. I have been to various tantric events in Sydney, sometimes clothed and other times not. Tantra is about expansion (physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually) - not a " technique" which can be learned during a workshop. Often commitment to vulnerability, intimacy and integrity are integral to attaining the sexual awakening which tantric practices may offer. just in the last few weeks, after the last post on the subject, so I googled it, found some activities to do, but we don't get very far in and get too excited and out of control and before we know it we're going at it like rabbits anf the tantrics all gone out the window... would love to find out about lessons, perhaps in the presence of others we could keep it in check and hit the punchline. Maybe it would work best for us with the clothes on, lol, sounds like that's where we are going wrong.

Just my opinion...I think if you're a naturally sensual, deep thinking, dreamy type person tantric comes naturally to you. I don't think lessons and techinques are necessary. Speaking for myself, my version of tantric sex is complete attention on the woman to create the perfect peaceful environment to allow her to experience what god has enabled her to experience. The complete togetherness of mind, body and soul over hours creates the ultimate in a tantric journey.

I have done some study in this area. There are 4 places you can go in perth that i know of. It can also help to get some books from the local library and read/ practice a few things before classes. We used to end up shagging our asses off most of the time too, which is great! The benefits to tantra are amazing tho and others will notice your inner glow...;) Cant put any links here but google perth tantra im sure youll find at least a couple. There are also plenty of tantrica's on fb. I wouldnt recommend the australian school of tantra they seemed to be just about getting your money at any cost, that was our experience anyway, Namaste Parko Kev

Yes, for some Tantra comes naturally, and they're not even aware. Tantra is the third point of a triangle including Yoga and Ayurveda. It's also quite similar to Daoist sexual practices and complementary to Quodoshka and similar. Essentially, all are ancient forms of spirituality through sexuality. Tantra is primarily about breath and energy, not about 'physical techniques'. Vulnerability and compassion to self and others are key :). Google Tantric Nights for an introduction :)

Seems to me that you have to undergo a complete spiritual change to get anywhere.. In my searches on the subject of Tantra , seems there are too many people out there willing to put their hand out without much in return.. I contacted a Indian woman a few years ago who had just moved to Australia. Seemed she knew the ropes quite well and was willing to teach us without cost.. saying tantra should not be a money making exercise, but spiritual.. Unfortuneately, we lost touch and that was that... ( probally my own fault because of business )..Be happy to chat to any other interested parties.. as a group, we might get somewhere... Mr JJ

The Tibetans believe that the quickest way to spiritual enlightenment is by finding a consort,a partner to pracice Tantra with,this includes exploring the sexual Tantric path. I will check that out. Enigma I am all of those things, but always get to a certain point and am just gagging for it... patience most certainly would be a virtue when it comes to tantric. At the end of the day, I believe tantra is a seekers journey and I do believe that regardless of which line of tantra you eventually explore, there can only be expansion. Thanks for your knowledge... You mentioned clothed and unclothed.. ? I could be wrong ' but I cant see the point of being clothed when the aim is to explore the spiritual side of our sexual energy. Seems to me if you are clothed , its like being only half baked and would need more sessions to get you where you should be in the first place. ? I dont know ?I always view Tantra as a way of exploring our inner sexual energies that we never discover in our everyday life... Am I wrong ?

I totally agree with Bea. Tantra is not a method....it is a profound spiritual path. If you are not connected and fully embrace your own source, inner beauty, perfection, connectedness to all of life, then tantra is not for you. Tantra is a sacred union of two beingsrecognising their eternal interconnectedness, and meeting their "other self" in their partner. A coming togetherin a blissful state of union. But like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, if each "part" is not complete within themselves, their is no possibility of union. It is possible to attain an extrememly heightened state of arousal simply by sitting, facing together, in deep eye contact, fully clothed, embracing the breath. But you will not ejaculate....its so much more than that. If you're not comfortable exploring your own inner world, then attending a tantric workshop is a complete waste of time and money.

.. wanting to embrace Tantra, I keep hitting brickwalls with the people whom practice it. The 'experts' keep telling me you must be this or you must be that and if Im not this or that... dont bother. ? To a point' this frustrates me some. I believe you'll never ever know if you never have a starting point somewhere...I am the type of person who goes into things with a open mind... Im always prepared to try something and go along with it . If I can see the benefits I will fully embrace it.. If I dont, for what ever reason.. I just walk away...Finding a friendly non judgemental person prepared to sit down and chat would be a great start.. Where do I find such a person ?

As far as my awareness goes, sexual energy is life force energy which permeates pretty much all living things, regardless of their state. Of course naked is always better... ;) As I mentioned previously, it may be more comfortable for some. Also, in my experience, accessing the depths of being during tantric workshops seldom require nakedness. That being said, imagine the very slow seduction, before clothes are taken off and the levels of arousal which can occur - that requires no nakedness, in fact, it is the "clothedness" which heightens the entire experience. ;) Tantriclove.... couldn't have put it better myself.... ;)

I started out my being a masseur to a tantra teacher who introduced me to many books, CDs and I shared many one one one lessons on simple meditation, breathing and connecting. She owned and operated a tantric practice in Sydney that is still going today. I felt like she was only After money so parted ways in search of something more authentic... Since then I met and trained with a few different practitioners here in NSW. I incorporated the simple philosophies into my therapeutic massage to enhance things like presence, staying in the moment and connectedness. Even though they aren't specifically sexual things. More recently I have assisted in the training of tantric goddesses and formed friendships with one or two wonderful people who now practice around NSW and the ACT. That was an Amazing experience and if anyone wants the contacts for those I can give them to you. I don't run, nor profit from that particular organization either, but have helped them in the past. Although tantra is unapologetically sexual. Sex and sexual gratification are not the end goals... The purpose of tantra is always a spiritual one... Sex is seen as divine and sexual energy as a potent life force, not to be ashamed of but to revere. Western, modern focus on tantra cheapens it and Commercializes it to simply Obtaining bigger orgasms and performance. As states by a few, tantra is a philosophy of Love and acceptance of self and others. Sex is seen as a meditative process, entering the divine and giving in to the moment to enter nirvana itself. Most of the techniques are designed to either enhance connection with your partner in union, deepen your entering the divine or mastering control over your sexual energy. I would encourage anyone and everyone to Read, listen and practice with a trusted lover... It is such a beautiful thing to do. Hopefully a few people from this thread are connecting and All I can advise... Work out for yourself exactly what your goals are, what you want to get out of attending a class / course / session and ask heaps Of questions beforehand to make sure it will meet your goals. I offer basic tantric lessons, mindfulness meditation and tantric massages but do not Charge any money because that is not My motivation.... You should be able to find people like that out there. People who love the lifestyle and enjoy opening this up to anyone who is genuinely and sincerely interested. I enjoy sharing my experience and know that I grow from that experience myself. I already earn enough as a therapeutic masseur and psychologist do just do that in my spare time. Unfortunately I am not familiar with Melbourne so can't stear you in the right direction.. Hey Angel, I like Mantak Chia but it can very very technical because Tao is more methodical and scientific in its approach although this often appeals to makes. Healing love through the Tao - cultivating female sexual energy is a good book by Chia. But if I were to start I would definitely look up Jaiya and Jon Hanauer. Not strictly tantric ad she is a sexologist body workers so are familiar with lots if approaches. Their book called red hot touch is easy to read and lovely to get but is focused mostly on sexual ecstasy. I like Diane and Kerry Riley as well from Byron Bay, their book Tantric secrets for men is also easy to read and has wonderful tips... Probably the easiest book to start in tantra. Also start practicing yoga for a general appreciation for the mind-body connection I also have other books because I am a psychologist and I study meditation so alot of books on the fringes of what you might be interested in. I would start there and see where it takes you. Once you start spending time looking and reading, then things will appeal and guide you intuitively. ok ive achieved tantra been able to doo it via web cam to that person it was felt as if they was still in front of you and achieved orgasms soo im just saying anythink is possiable with energy exchanges but also know how to close down after wards is a must. well Tantra is more than just sex, and of course you can go nude in your private Tantra session, the idea is to have orgasm withouth penetration, is blissfull, and very orgasmic, its like having a prolong session of foreplay, slowly the tension build up to the point it cant be held back anymore.I encourage you to try Tantra...! google for the nearest tantra class in your area!
