Wow...that sounded a little catty! If you want to pass on a personal message....perhaps a private message might be a nicer idea? While we are all grownups here, the immature will talk themselves up. It's naive to think that what happens behind closed doors always stays there, even though we all hope that everyone on RHP is respectful and discrete the reality may be a little different. Quoting 'bombshell007'It is the company you have been keeping of late? Especially if you have had anything to do with the guy that has been sleeping around and bragging about it on here. But then again it is the season for the flu so good luck with it.

Man Flu is simply a cold, the symptoms of which are greatly exaggerated by men. FALSE - Man Flu is a serious and potentially life threatening illness, and will no doubt soon be on the Health and Safety Executive's list of Reportable Diseases. Man Flu is a distinct disease in its own right, and should not be misdiagnosed as a mere common cold. Women can catch Man Flu FALSE - Man Flu does not attack humans with the XX chromosome, only those with the XY chromosome. This genetic mutation effectively immunises females against Man Flu. This may account for the reason that women widely believe that Man Flu is actually just the common cold, but with a bit of extra drama thrown in for good measure. The best way to deal with Man Flu is to just 'get on with it' FALSE - Extensive research has proven that the only way to combat the crippling effects of Man Flu is complete withdrawal to the sofa and uninterrupted mollycoddling by the girlfriend / wife. Men have a slower recovery rate from Man Flu than women do from the common cold TRUE - The effects of Man Flu can linger for days and days, compared with just a few hours for the common cold. If the man is not permitted the correct period of convalescence following an attack of Man Flu he can be plunged back into a critical condition Man Flu is just a way for men to get sympathy / time off work / time in front of the telly FALSE - Man Flu is a bona-fide and debilitating illness, would men make a meal of that sort of thing? The pain and suffering of Man Flu is similar to that of child birth TRUE - Though at least with child birth it's all done and dusted in a few hours, but Man Flu can last for weeks... The best cure for Man Flu is a cocktail of Night Nurse, Day Nurse, chicken noodle soup and whiskey. FALSE - There is no cure for Man Flu. Once infected the afflicted can only hope that the gods roll the dice in favour of life rather than slow, lingering death. While suffering from Man Flu, men would like nothing more than to go to work and try to forget about their affliction. TRUE - However, men recognise the huge risk of spreading Man Flu to other men. Indeed, a single cough in the wrong direction could hold enough Man Flu germs to wipe out a small rainforest tribe.

Sometimes when people have been hurt by others they act out. Maybe it isn't the best strategy to voice it on the forum Bombshell. Although don't know why someone assumes you are fake? Who knows most likely stuff I don't know about. Can I say I have seen a well know forum person open a new account with a completely different life history, etc only yesterday. Have to say I found that disturbing. 😨 I absolutely adore chicken noodle soup but I am hopeless in the kitchen. Are you ladies making the chicken stock from scratch or do you use those stock cubes?

I need a bowl, have come down with a head cold after our cold snap yesterday, and watching son's footy in the wind and rain didnt help either (yes i know you dont get sick from the cold, but it makes you feel worse) working with kids coughing and sneezing all over you doesnt help either!! And i havent been with any sick men....

Quoting 'Meeka100' I absolutely adore chicken noodle soup but I am hopeless in the kitchen. Are you ladies making the chicken stock from scratch or do you use those stock cubes? You could just try using the pre-made chicken stock (think Campbells). They make a reasonable base for soups and stews especially if you aren't too handy in the kitchen. Thou I find stock made from scratch always tastes better.

Rest up Superfox, plenty of fluids - chicken soup is ideal! In fact send some my way I'm flat on my back at the moment - have hurt my back at Gym!!! 😩😩😩- Posted from rhpmobile

This is the first time in 10yrs not getting FLU shot as I was on leave (work provides) and then bang-hits me...I think it works for some and not others...The best cure has to be a good 'ol bowl of Nanas Chicken soup for sure so am more than happy to share it around....Followed by Freyas mixture... FOXY PS-Meeka best to make stock from scratch - has a fresher flavour than stock cubes.

Oh dear. The fox is in the coop. We can't have that. Hope you are feeling better and get well soon. As for the flu shot, I was very sick 3 days ago followed by a slight fever and sore throat a day later and now have a cough that is more irritating than anything else. Not sure if that is a side effect of the flu vaccine or it made me recover quicker. I would still recommend it for people who are in constant contact with children or students. Meeka, the pre-made soups are good but add in your own ingredients to make it taste better. You can't go wrong with garlic or coriander. You could microwave the soup as suggested but it always taste better over the stove. Get well soon to everyone who is unwell and hope the rest stay healthy during the flu season.

They are expecting a new strain that has just killed quite a few people in America to arrive in Australia soon and that is why they're pushing again for people to get the shot. Particularly those who are more at risk of developing complications from it, and the people who work / live with them.Hope you feel better soon Superfox.

My sister (44) had flu 'like' symptons for 3 days that would you believe turned into chicken pox? We had it as kids but she has contracted it again. The assumption being from her kids friends at school. (My nieces have been immunised but of course not all agree and dont have their kids vaccinated). She has sores all over her face, chest, back, legs, arm, in her mouth & unfortunately vajayjay. She's exhausted, has no appetite, is very itchy scratchy and of course very very sore. Keep an eye on your bodies people for blister like spots.... apparently there is an epidemic in the school yards. Take care

As a nurse I always roll my eyes secretly when people say they had "The flu" twice already this year. The flu vaccine does not help against colds, but as Luckdragon says, there is a new strain of Influenza (again), so it's worth getting jabbed. I get mine every year through the hospital I work in. It isn't mandatory for us, but highly recommended. And I must say, I have never had the flu (the real one) in my life.
