👫 💑 👪 The Ideal First Date 👫 💑 👪

July 09 2015

I was reading Lilyorchid's, 'Date Movies', thread and the comments about the movies not being an ideal first 'date' because it was difficult to get to know each other. .It made me wonder considering dating venues were limited when I was in my twenties and movies was one of the top choices, lol. Moving on....With the world being very different now, I wondered what your idea of the ideal date would be currently and what you might want to get out of it... What would it depend on?.Cheers, Peachy

Back in the "good ole days, or olden days" the movies were good as you were young and holding hands or "pashing in the dark" was great, but you never actually got to know the person. Nowadays (for a possible pre-sex date or serious) would be somewhere quiet, coffee or drink or two, where you can talk and get to know each other and see how things go (if there is an attraction or not, with mutual likes etc)

I had a first date the other day. We went for coffee. We've now had date number 3. Dinner two times out of three.

No Single Guy. It is a dating show and the contestants date people in the nude. Some good bodies, but it is a bit painful to watch so didn't watch it all. I saw one couple playing pool, another doing naked yoga and one of them went for a walk and were then having a game of archery. Too weird.

Meeka ... I saw a few episodes of the show. I agree it was weird. My ideal first date is going to dinner and getting to know the person over a wine or two and a shared meal. This has lead to great FBW and/or serious relationships. I only go to dinner if there is a good connection that has been built up beforehand. Otherwise, a coffee date is a good way of getting to know it things are going further or not. One memorable first date I went on involved getting up at 5am to go to Avon Valley decent (for those in the East it is an annual white water race in the country) on a freezing cold winter weekend, followed by a home cooked lunch at his nearby hobby farm and playing ping pong in the local neighbourhood tournament in the afternoon before heading back to Perth by nightfall. Great day out, got to know enough about each to realize it wouldn't go further but a great date nevertheless. LG

Lunch is always the perfect one for us, and it can go lots of ways, which is what we like. That extra bottle of Sav Blanc shared amongst the beautiful ones, followed by that deliciously complicit bathroom break can wreak havoc on plans for the rest of the weekend, as well as keeping the boys in tow……………….. We like, you like?

First date meaning date date, or first meet with someone off a sex site? I don't date but in saying that I have been to all kinds of places like movies, jazz, swingers together, dinner, drinks, bowling, pool, bush walking, coffee spots, day spa, hotel, back of a car, shopping and at the airport to meet them on arrival. First meets can be anywhere. Oh I even met up with a guy at bounce for a first date the trampoline place, fun times.

I think it needs to be something where you can talk, have distractions (if needed), and have a fun time. I've been to a park with someone with a six pack of beer and a frisbee - that was fun. I think the best date I've been on is going paddle boarding with someone. Lots of things to talk about, if the small talk ever got awkward. Got to see what they looked like in their trunks. Got to see if they could out swim me. Had a giggle trying to stand on the one paddle board together. And a wet salty kiss. Able to slink into the water, wrap your legs around them and decide if there should be a date 2. If you're reading this - you suck, but the date rocked ;P

... I'm not a great fan of ... Dome (Doomed ... there are so many better boutique coffee establishments in Fremantle ) .... but .... If i was to suggest 5 locations to meet someone for a first daytime date .... 4 out of 5 cautious prospectives would choose a Dome ?... its the Maccas principle ..... even if they have never been there .. there know what to expect ...... and know that there will be enough people around to be ok ? ...... sick of Dome .... can't we meet in a X rated cinema meet next time ?? ... best local Dome ..... Red Herring Restaurant site is now ..... Doomed .... perched over the Swan river so a great outlook when you run out of vanilla to talk about ??

But somewhere quiet, out of the way, like a little cafe in a nature park. Freedom to talk about any topic (which I do) without worrying about people hearing. Some privacy to get a little closer if it comes to it. - Posted from rhpmobile

Then - it was the movies or drive ins, yes Im old LOL Now - I enjoy a picnic, wine or beer tasting, coffee or lunch. Either way you'll know in the first 10mins if the date is going to work. Might as well be somewhere you can enjoy yourself if its a bore.

that both thoroughly enjoy that still leaves room for getting to know each other (fishing, footy, few rounds of pool) or something both would like to do but haven't tried as yet. If all else fails, it's time well spent regardless & anything else from there on in can only be a bonus.

Well I'm collecting firewood on Saturday for a first date. Yeah I'm weird - but he's cute, local, we've been exchanging sms messages and I'll never knock back an opportunity to go bush.

A casual light meal or coffee somewhere comfortable and open, alfresco preferably. But I have been a a wide variety of dates. Took a lady for a sight seeing flight over Perth, something I had already planed to do but thought why not bring her along. Been surfing, swimming, walks, bike rides, clubbing, just shopping, even paint-balling. It all depends on the person and I try to guess what they would like that I enjoy as well.

I don't really do dates. I would call them a "catch up" if anything, just not dates. Too me "date" sounds like some kind of romantic thing. You know, flowers and shit and lets see if we want to take things further - like another date. *Shivers*
