Whilst buzzing about today for work I drove past a sign advertising "Schintz and Tits" at a local venue. Other than nearly causing me to have a close encounter with someone's arse (well their car's arse to be precise), it got me thinking. It is a long time since I have seen an ad for a lunch/dinner served with topless waitresses. I thought that fad had died out long ago. I never really understood the attraction... so maybe someone can enlighten me..... What is the attraction of these events? Why is looking at topless women whilst eating your schnitz or parma such a draw card? And for the women - would you do it? Have you been a topless waitress - and how were you treated?

When is looking at a gorgeous half naked women not a good thing to do. (Waitress, please bring me another 2-dozen oysters and a cold beer to cool me down) Except of course if I was driving, or doing some other activity where loss of concentration could be severely dangerous.

but, back in the day, in Sydney, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up stripping exclusively at private parties for a period of 5 months or so. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Made what I thought to be at the time an absolute shitload of easy money and was pretty much treated like a celebrity.Getting out of that scene was a bit of a mission but that's a whole new story

I did topless bar work as well as stripping for 4 years (18-22 y.o) and even i never understood the attraction lol.. It was a fun time though and nothing like people assume of the industry I actually had a lot of Women with their partners at shows too, they were always so curious, especially at private parties etc.....

Met a skimpy barmaid and really enjoyed getting to know her 'over my dinner'. She was incredibly nice (and sexy) and we got chatting, even talked about my life a bit, rhp, showed her my profile haha and I have to say, I was turned on, I can only imagine how guys feel. I worked with some of them when I was young and used to get irritated because as a full time barmaid at the time, I was left to do the work, race around in circles serving the hoards of men who came to see the skimpy's but their job was obviously to entertain and entice the customers, not to serve drinks, or at least that wasn't the priority, ultimately bringing in more profit over the bar. I understood that but we couldn't keep up, our staff numbers weren't increased for those nights. Funniest thing, one of the skimpy barmaids I recognised and it turned out she was the daughter of a music teacher we had at school, god I hope she's not reading this, but I remember thinking shit, what would your Mum think. But yeah, still a well received thing, for sure

"Tits & Schnitz"... gold! Best advertising slogan I've heard in a while :) I think skimpies are still very much an institution in Kalgoorlie, and that they actually get additional girls in during Diggers & Dealers to handle the demand. I've always had a secret fantasy about being a stripper or a topless waitress, & I wish I had tried it out at least once. Never followed through when I was young for many reasons, but mainly because I didn't think I had the body for it & I had no self-confidence. Now I'd absolutely give it a crack, I have the confidence & I'm happy with my body. Unfortunately age is not on my side... I don't think there's a great demand for 48 year old skimpies :/

There's a pub near where I work where, on a Friday night, the female employees all wear g-strings and very small bras. It doesn't bother me, doesn't put me off going, and I agree with Freya that the men folk generally drink more. They love it and stare openly. Oh come onnnnnnnn We all know about the topless barman/ waiter for a hens night etc! The reason for it is always the same..... visual stimulation.The lure of a lunch is just an excuse LOL
