Hi! Bathsheba:) I think it all comes down to what you're Primarily seeking .If you're into NSA then it's a sex site and you're priority is that and you're not generally as interested in the Social aspects.. .if you're into being FWB then it's a Friendship Dating site.. so you've an equal Interest in both the Social and The Sexual aspects with select People.. It's just not possible to be highly active in pursuing alot of activity, between jobs, study and four children and without a large network of support in terms of babysitting. We don't have much opportunity to get out, so choose our partners wisely and like to keep regulars, and that suits us just fine for the moment. Different strokes for different folks.

Interesting topic. When single, Mr Otori and I were using this (and other sites) for casual encounters/dating and actually met through one. But six months later we were living together and are coming up on 5 years in June (so very casual that turned out to be LOL). So I think this (and other similar) site can be just for sex hook-ups, casual dating or even finding Mr or Ms Right. It really depends on who you meet out there in the wilderness as to what you'll get out of it.

Of course it advertises sex, parties, forums etc etc for Adults - it's a site that is 'OPEN' about sex, sexual activities etc more than other "Single dating sites". Some people will just use it for casual sex, some just for finding a fwb, others looking for something more permanent and then you have the whole swingers side of it. Nothing wrong with any of those things. Personally, At the moment I just use it to post irrelevant comments and posts on the forum. That being said, a lot of guys just come on here looking to scratch an itch, while there are exceptions to the rule, women would have to be naive to think otherwise. I'm sure there are plenty of guys looking for something other than getting their end wet, it would take a while to sort the wheat from the chaff.

sight or site - as many others have already said it's what you make of it.My perception is that it's a place where people exhibit or satisfy their inner voyeur. How much contact you are establishing I think varies a lot - I find it a rather silent site; no responses, no initiation of contact, but I'm sure many others see it different.So all in all it comes back to what you make of it.The fact that it is advertised as catering to sexual interests just means that you don't have to hold back - you don't need to want to get married with a person you meet on this site. If it happens, great, but if it doesn't - also great.

Its not just a sex site... true but ask the single guys whether it is a singles dating site because nearly every profile on here says no single guys and we only want a unicorn: oh a single female to have sex with. Then there are the people who only do the forums and say that they over using the site for dating and or sex. So what I am say is this: It is all these things. A meeting place for sex and a dating site. So sit back and enjoy it rather then trying to put it in little box and call it something. but bugger I have met some nice people from here and had great sex. Didn't date any but then I'm married.

It IS a sex site! The reason every single person and/or couple is first drawn to this site is because sex is a topic that interests us enough to seek out like-minded people, in whatever capacity. Whether we want more of it, want to understand ourselves better, or simply find it an interesting topic to discuss, an above average interest in the topic of sex (enough to motivate us on a self-selective basis to participate in whatever capacity) is, literally, the only personality trait we all have in common. As broadly defined as an 'interest in sex' is, I think it's ridiculous to suggest otherwise. I think a more useful question is 'what does it MEAN that this is a sex site' - which I think 95% of posts in this thread are actually answering (and I agree with.)

It is a simplication as there are many aspects to the interaction between members that are of a non-sexual nature but it's primary purpose seems to be for sexual contacts and education. I don't like the attitude taken by some that participation requires indescriminate promiscuity, though.

I have not had that statement directed at me personally, although, I have often noticed members interject in posts with,...."this is a sex site!"Like it's the most profound, bottom-line answer for everything? *rolls eyes*I think to myself, "Is that all you've got?"Seems to be becoming the lazy persons 'go to' statement to 'explain away' anything debatable at the time? I think the phrase has lost it's meaning though, as it's become a cliche' and like anything that is over used it no longer carries any weight and doesn't have an impact any more. With Rhp it's always going to be focused on sex - some people just want the quick hook up, others want something else on top of that. But you are an attractive single female - so you have the power to pick the "right" guy suited to your needs.
