Threading

January 20 2016

Hi Ladies Just wondering if any of you have tried Threading. I've seen people having it done in some shopping centres but have never tried it myself. If you have tried it would you recommend it over waxing etc Also did it hurt?

yes I have it's quite ticklish actually on your eyebrows but I still prefer to see my preferred beautician I get my eye brow waxed once a month. As for down there I'd suggest a laser it's so much better. - Posted from rhpmobile

Depending on time. Threading bit quicker but i think a good waxer will get a better result for me. More relaxing getting waxed. Threading you need to stretch your own skin so no time to chill even if only a 10 mins. And cant catch up on the beauty parlour goss. Whos bitching about who. Lol.

And no appointment required for threading. Pains sort of same but different. Give it a go. What have you got to lose?...... just your eyebrows....

I found threading more painful than waxing and not as quick. It also didn't seem as effective as waxing - she did the tops and sides of my eyebrows threading and there were still hairs there when I got home. It made my eyes water a bit as it wasn't quick like a bandaid as waxing is. I wouldn't try it again. Miss Little xx

I have my eyebrows done and like the results, it's a slight stinging sensation but not bad. I find it a bit gentler on my skin than waxing. I've had my whole face done once and it felt great afterwards, I'm not very hairy so don't need to have it done again, just gave it a try. - Posted from rhpmobile

But I do know that it has been used for centuries in my country and, as far as I know, it's still only done on facial hair but I could be wrong. It should be no more painful than tweezing with much quicker results and they can remove the pinpointed unwanted hair with great precision, depending on the expertise of the threader. (I watched one in action, trimming a guy's beard and was rather impressed 😃) Major pro is that no chemicals are used and the only thing that touches your skin should be the thread - so it's considered sanitary and safe for those with sensitive skin. But, like everything, do your research and find someone who's experienced. I tried it on myself once. Not something easily learnt. Let's just say OUCH! Do NOT try it at home! 😫 - Posted from rhpmobile

It hurts, that's all I can say... Was a gluten for punishment and went back a second time when my eyebrows needed it and yep, still hurt like hell.. :( Waxing, although rougher on skin, is better AND more relaxing... :)

recently on a work trip in Singapore. It did hurt! I had my eyebrows shaped and also upper lips (on my face! lol) also any bumps on my face threaded. It was painful and made my eyes water. The eyebrows was ok but it was not as clean cut result if I had it waxed. Not sure if threading can be done for a full brazilian but I can imagine it will hurt like hell. It was not offered as an option in Singapore. I think they are too modest for that. I don't believe that threading my 'orchid' or anybody's orchid for that matter, is common place in Singapore. May not do it again. Will try either laser next time.

Ive had it done to eyebrows and legs. Same amount of pain as waxing I'd say, with quite similar results. However I often react to hot wax and stay red for hours, didn't notice that with threading. Not enough of a difference to make me go out actively seeking threading. I'm a laser convert to most areas now though (other than eyebrows), so I just stick with the more available waxing to other less laser-amenable parts.

Get a guy to do it for you, teach them how to.Or go to a wax place with a huge wide framed buxom German Lady with arms like a truck driver. It needs a strong hand and forearm that can remove the whole strip in less than a blink with no tugging at all.One that can snap roll the wrist and pull it side ways in less than a blink to remove the lot. I had a few longer term GF's I did it for, the first one was fairly hirsute and had thick dark hair that was hard to get out.She came home red raw and a few blood spots, a little teary and in serious pain, she got a fairly weak limp wristed woman who yanked and tugged at her follicles for ages and made a mess of her. Didn't want to see her go through that again so I volunteered to do it for her. Having a large hand I can keep a large area of skin taught with one hand that is important in places the skin is loose. And after the rip can apply even wide compression on the area to reduce the redness. I used to have the micro wave nearby so I could keep the temp just right and test it on my wrist to make sure it not too hot.Too cool it smears and doesn't flow to the roots and ends up leaving stray hairs still there needing a repeat of the area or plucking that just makes a waxed area more aggravated and found it best to do every spot once only and get it all.She never had any pain from waxing when I did it and no red blotches. Doing the muffin took a bit of work to do finishing off the mini strips around her bits and is very sensitive so cant have any tugging of any kind, it has to come off in a snap and horizontal to the skin not perpendicular so strong fingers helped me grip the mini strips. And best of all when I was done that area she was already on her hands and knees naked and I got to drop my duds and give it a test drive. Ahh the memories
