To tattoo or not?

February 23 2017

I know this is a very broad and open subject, but I was wondering what guys ( and girls ) generally think about tattoos on a woman? What size tattoo? I'm thinking of getting one to cover some scars, does this make getting a tattoo less ugly to the people who think no tattoos? Just curious :) - Posted from rhpmobile

I love tattoos on men and women, although I'm not a fan of sleeves. On men I find a large single black tattoo on the upper arm and/or shoulder very sexy. I think it's a visual thing, you either like them or you don't. I don't think somebody's reason for having one will make a difference. It's a big decision to get one and the only person you should consider is yourself, you're the one who has to live with it. I heard an interview on the radio with a woman (who has tattoos herself) who removes them for a living; the advice she gave was: keep a picture of the tattoo you want, somewhere where you can see it. Look at it for 6 months and if you're not sick of the image by then, you can probably live with the tattoo. Love to hear what you decide.....

For every one that doesn't like it there's someone who does. Personally don't mind unless you're covered head to toe, and definitely not a fan of face and neck tattoos. Most else is fair game. Just do it if you want to do it. - Posted from rhpmobile

Tattoos, tell a person's story...to me, they are visual pictures to ones soul. I have three, all have significant meaning on various places on my body. I have no regrets getting them. I know, I have them for life. Only one is visual when I wear my work uniform, it's a tree of life on inner right wrist with my daughter's initial. I'm often compliment on it. I'm with sorguywa, face and some neck tattoos, do not appeal to me. (Man or woman). Ms Foxy

I'm not a fan but it's not my body, if you feel more comfortable with a tattoo rather than a scar then go for it. I have seen a few tattoos on women that are simply stunning, perhaps because they appeared to be individual works of art rather than a tough sticker chosen from a catalogue. It seems they are addictive though and from one small tatt with "meaning" more and more are added and it just looks like a mess. Think long and hard and choose something that not just appeals in the moment but you can wear for life.

Keep the scars hon they are part if who you are. The cute little butterfly tat you may consider getting now will more closely resemble a pterodactyl in ten years time. Guys will look at you with or without tats so you need to address why you actually need one. If its to impress some dipshit who cares more about your appearance than the scar you need to reassess your reasoning.

Ha ha ha. Only joking 🙃 Someone mentioned the forums were getting boring. I quite like a good tattoo, not sure where your scar is but I've seen some good cover ups so it a good option Mr nude

I like the idea of putting a picture of the tattoo I want up where I can look at it all the time and see if I'm not sick of it after a while. It's not a decision I'm making litely as I'm terrified of needles and have one small one already that I cried the whole way through ( tough I know haha ) but it means a lot to me and the next ones I'm looking at are very significant Meanings to me and are designs I've made myself but as I said just asking for opinions. Thanks again :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Once you get it for life or you can always get laser tattoo removal in the future by then technology would be more advance. I started with a butterfly then move on to a bigger one it's quite addictive tbh I now have six I don't know how but I was overseas last year & I thought might as well get tattooed & it's cheaper than here. Luckily I have a friend that does tattoo here I get discounts haha 😊. Some people like it some not, but it's your body your choice. - Posted from rhpmobile

Dont dooo it! Men will think your butch and women will think your a slut! Nah, just kidding 😆. Just do it...dont bother asking for other peoples opinion. But, id recommend doing some homework...be confident that your chosen artist/studio is reputable and capable of doing what your asking for. The first artist/business i went to wasn't...and "repairs" were needed. Not all artists are interested in doing fix-up jobs. ☺

if you want them for yourself then go for it if doing it for another person then I say no wait its your body decorates it how ever you want I have quiet a few on body all I think is not on the face/neck or hands that's all as if you need to cover them for work or weddings it will still be easy to

Absolutely love them, on men and women. Love sleeve tatts, and neck yum. Although I don't agree with Bianca's sentiments about tarts, I do agree you shouldn't cover your scars. Scars are character and tell a story, they can be sexy as hell. Guys really into you will want to kiss those scars 😉 but if you can afford tatts, go for it. There'll come a time in the not too distant future, where those without them will be the outcasts lol I started looking into it, but I can't afford it right now. If I could, I wouldn't hesitate. So sexy 😉

That's the hard part, deciding what you want. Putting a picture up is a good idea 👍

Are a very personal thing and it really shouldn't matter what other people think of them. It's about what you think of them, it's you that has to be happy with it. I have lots of tattoos, I don't care what anyone else thinks of them, because they are mine, not theirs. My life, My Body, My Choices, My Tattoos. 💋

My biggest one is a rib piece that runs from my underarm to my thigh. It was originally going to be a smaller tatt, but after thinking on it and discussing it throughout the process of geting it done (over a period of 14 hours in total) I decided to extend it to my thigh as it now covers a scar on my hip. I am happy I did it, I love it. And the scar is no longer visible at all. Like everyone is saying though, its a personal choice. Only you can decide for yourself if it's right for you. No one else's opinion matters because you're the one who has to live with it.

So long as they aren't job stoppers. It's just art, doesn't change who you are. Do what makes you happy.

Hi Kay.Everyone is different. Some people love them. Some despise them and some dont think about them at all.At the end of the day, its 'your' choice. If you want one, get one. Its your body and you should do what you feel is right... for you!! I have tattoo's. I got them when I was young. My hubby wasn't fussed on them at the start but now he loves them as they are a part of me. The only advice I can offer is, choose your tattoo design wisely. It will be there for the rest of your life so find something you love, sit on it for a bit and if you still feel the same about it, find a highly talented, clean tattoo artist and treat yourself.
