I never built my virginity up as a big thing, and lost it one night to a relatively random friend of a friend just because I was having an amazing night and it seemed like a fun way to do it. No regrets - had a great time! But he wasn't a complete stranger either. Meeting new people from here can be awkward if you don't have a lot of experience - but no experience whatsoever of not only playing but of sex altogether? That's a very, very big ask. MsK x

Oh honey your in the wrong place for your first. Try the pub or a club. Find a nice cougar in your street or neighbourhood to teach you right. Far too many players and heart breakers here. You need to know even your first time isn't just about losing it. It's setting you up for a lifetime of wonderful sensations and attidudes. Or try asking a girl out steady for a while first. Savour your first time and don't cheapen it on here.Have fun, make it interesting and be nice. The best of luck to you

Not a new concept. People have done it publicly, and secretly. And some supposed virgins have even auctioned off their virginity to the highest bidder to relieve of them of it. That seems somewhat predatory/creepy to me.... but if someone is offering, they'll find takers with too much money and not enough brains. But a "quest"? It's been a while but I can't recall virginity being a burden to carry. Im more curious as to why someone would WANT to seek sex with a virgin, though. No of fence intended to any virgins reading (yeah, right! lol) but there's more enjoyment to be had with someone with some experience under their belt, so to speak. DG

I have to agree with DG. I couldn't think of anything worse than having to guide or show a virgin what to do. It may sound selfish, but what's in it for me? No thanks. Besides I don't think you ever finish learning about the pleasures of the flesh and I'm still enjoying the process of finding out for myself in an ever evolving journey of fulfilment. I think this site is more suited to the experienced not only in sexual matters but also in life. They have to have the maturity to be able to screen for a suitable teacher/partner. Not everyone here has selfless intentions. Losing virginity should be a memorable experience for all the right reasons not full of regrets by making a bad choice on here. SFxx

I have met 2 on here in the past 6 months, who were/are lovely guys with their own reasons for being their age with virginity still in place. Im happy to say they have 'grown' somewhat since the experience It is less intimidating on here than trying to pick up in a club/pub if you really have no idea what youre doing!

It is one of the superstitions of mankind to have imagined that virginity could be a virtue....Voltaire. There have been a couple of men on here who have advertised their desire to loose their virginity....I think perhaps that they were successful ....more than once

There is a forumabout this on "Insight" tonight on SBS ONE, (25 June'13) at 8.30pm.Whether you want to lose it or hang onto it, virginity is actually a big deal in Australia. Surgeons around the country are performing hymen reconstructions and doctors are issuing medical certificates to women who want official confirmation that their hymens are intact. Speaking with medical professionals and guests from different cultures, Insight explores virginity: who's holding onto it, who can't wait to get rid of it, and who's trying to hide the fact that they do (or don't) have it any more. Hosted by Jenny Brockie.

I expect hymen reconstruction is a very cultural issue... and not part of the mainstream Australian community.I find it interesting in those cases where these women have that operation.....are merely creating the perception of virginity.... ie.... a falsehood. Not a good principle to start a committed relationship/marriage upon if virginity is such an important virtue that doesnt actually exist. That was a cut and paste job from the TV Station and not my actual opinion. So not sure how much of a 'big deal' in Australia they (Insight) mean yet? I'm in Perth so you will see it aired before I do.

If an intact hymen is the basis for deciding a girl/woman's virginity then I am happy to say I took my own virginity. DG .... it is commonplace for a virgin to remain sex free but still have their hymen broken through the use of tampons. In such cases the girl isn't creating a falsehood about her sexual experience by having the hymen repaired. Australia has wonderful beaches and swimming is a big part of our lives. Sanitary pads just don't allow girls to enjoy this part of Australian life hence one of the reasons girls use tampons. There can be a number of reasons why a girl's hymen isn't intact, without being sexually experienced. It's such a pity that so much value and judgement is placed on one piece of skin. Who and how is the man checked for his virginity? Should a woman, in a culture where her virginity is valued so highly be able to reject her future husband if he is not a virgin? This hymen debate really does highlight how backward some cultures can be with regards to women's rights and sexuality. SF xx
