Well no Valentine for me but that's perfectly ok :) its never been a relevant day for me I've never received flowers or a valentines card. (not having a sook just making a statement.) I will be driving around delivering overpriced flowers, florist are always crazy busy this time of year that means they can never get enough people to i deliver (its the only day i ever work at florists cause they pay so good on valentines) My worst valentines would be a few years ago now spent in a court house with the possibility of my partner at the time going to jail (only for petty driving offences), turned out ok on the day though. Great Topic

I am at work now the friday night before Valentine's day and it is buzzing with people wanting something for tomorrow. One lovely young guy said he already had some things planned but he has to work so is getting up at 4am to get some things ready for the day, how sweet. He bought some love dice, some bath salts with suggestion cards for bath play, a blindfold and feather tickler.

That its SAINT Valentine's Day (note the possessive). And is/was a celebration of the martyrdom of San Valentino. As a know it all, pessimist, cynic and person guaranteed to do little more than watch the cricket tomorrow, i feel it's my duty to remind everyone that hallmark and other greeting card companies have once again hijacked a day of religious significance for the purpose of profit... Happy St Valentine's Day to all!

For a very single extraordinarily lonely girl. Its Valentines Day tomorrow and I shall pluck a flower and place it in a vase that sits in the middle of a table set for one. I imagine the happy couples, gazing into each others eyes through a bunch of roses on a table set for two. Fine cuisine, bubbly, laughter and eyes of love that celebrate the wonder of finding and falling in love. I take that flower from the vase in the middle of a table set for one and place it on my finished dinner plate. Idly moving from the dining room to the kitchen as soft music plays, gently I lift the lid of the bin and let my flower topple in. I say to myself as a tear meanders down, maybe next year sweetie, maybe next year.

EB,the thing about roses EB.is that they have thorns...and even if they have been stripped from the stem, the imprint is still there..All might be hunky dory in the land of lovers today, but too much bubbly, too many chocolates.....may leave you feeling sated but petals fade xxFreya

Ill be alone....but Id rather be alone than be with someone who is totally the wrong person to have in my life. A lot of the couples you see out for Valentines Dinner are having affairs, or dont have sex anymore, or are just in that oh so comfortable "like friends" zone now, although one is missing the intimacy they used to have and wishes those times back. Not all, of course, but the romantic setting wont always have romantic connotations. One day, your prince will come....til then, be happy leading the life you do

tonight, no dates. The time of the year where it reminds us single people that we are really on our own. I was planning to go to Mom tonight for dinner as I have not seen her for a while and she texts me that she is going to a wedding and partying. What? even a 87yo gets more action than I? Damn. But time time relax an dchill,. I will give my other single girlfriends a call and see if they want to have thai takeaway and a glass of red to see out the night. Lol.

I feel lonely and I think that's been hammered home this last week to in lots of ways. I do have my kids this weekend so am spending today reorganizing a bedroom for one and finally converting what was the kids play room into a teenagers retreat. hope everyone enjoys their day. I think next year we should organise a singles event on Valentine's Day.

The commercialism, the schmaltz, the underlying message that your life is meaningless if you're single..... Makes some people desperate for connection. You never know your luck....

I've never liked or celebrated valentines day, the commercialism, it feels forced to me, blah, blah. Call me unromantic... whatever. Anyway years ago an ex girlfriend of mine made it clear that she felt differently. So I finally caved. We were on holidays in the Whitsunday's at the time. So I organised a nice picnic basket with a bottle of bubbly and secretly chartered a helicopter to pick us up from our resort and fly us to a secluded spot on Whitehaven beach. All was going well, the view of the islands was breathtaking. As we flew over this mountain overlooking the beach. The first thing we saw was a huge love heart with the words "will you marry me" drawn in the sand. My first reaction was panic. I literally sceamed into the mic of my head phones." Omg that's not from me!" Probably more than once. The pilot was pissing himself laughing and I think my ex found my panicking funny and wasn't to offended by my over zealous denial. All said and done we ended have a great day. The main problem with doing something like that for your first Valentines Day present is where do you go from there? I mean flowers and chocolate just don't cut it after that. I peaked early and could never come up with anything that remotely compared that day. - Posted from rhpmobile

You make it sound like a disease. Lol. Damn I hate Valentine's day. Looks like its just me and my books tonight. Hmmm. I might hit the gym. Wish I drank. Haha. But a good video would be good. Am waiting at the train station at thr moment and a crazy lady is chatting to me abd telling me she had diarrhea the other day and she tried to wash it off and it wouldn't come out so she had to throw her clothes away Today. Still rabbiting on. My lucky stars today. Eh. Happy Valentine's.

and I've never felt lonely or envious of couples on on Valentine's Day. I suppose that's partly because I'm not into the whole concept of Valentine's Day as it is now anyway, but also because I'm not actively looking for another relationship. I understand it could be different if you were. I was watching a couple today while I was waiting for my coffee in a shopping centre, he was giving her flowers, just from the way they acted I would guess they haven't been going out very long and I thought it was nice but it didn't give me any pangs or thoughts of ''I wish that was me''. To me it's just another day, often I even forget about it.

I live in Melbourne's CBD so not outer Mongolia and I've been trying to get a plumber to my house since 8.00am this morning Yes it is a emergency , yes its more than a blocked drain - no I cant use the toilet or shower or any water for that matter, yes I've tried doing what I can but I'm currently in plaster and a sling as I have a broken right arm so I can do bugger all with the left. I've rung well over 30 plumbers ( nope no exaggeration there) ...not one, NOT ONE has returned my call until tonight at 6.50pm when a plumber rang me and said yes he could come out at 9.00pm this evening providing I was prepared to pay $1500 CASH I told him if I was staying home and parting with $1500 cash for a man to visit my apartment to " unblock my drains"...he would not be the man Id be calling... Currently defrosting the fridge, might as well end this day on a high note Love is not in the air

Hubbies Valentine's Day presents included a roast lamb dinner with trimmings, control of the tv to watch the cricket (and I didn't annoy him) and a blow job 😍 . I got a pandora charm, a key. I've added it to my anklet. For my vanilla friends it's the key to my heart ;) but in reality he bought it to symbolize that I hold the key to unlocking so many more wonderful sexual experiences for us both. Awwww ❤️ Mary xx

I get ya. I spent my evening down the coast with my 87 yo elderly mother. we had dinner, a chat, a lot of laughs and lots of cuddles. Now, that is time better spent than sitting at home moping. It seems we can find love in all places and to be in the company of someone we love, like a parent/s is as satisfying as being with a partner. In the end, I felt in the company of someone who will unconditionally love me for all my faults, Valentine's day or not. I count myself as lucky.

The ice-cream wasn't a substitute. I watched the cricket with mates, had a few beers and a few ciders. Got home, got the munchies and ate a bucket of ice-cream.I have to agree with Lilyorchid, companionship and love comes in many forms. i had a good day with good people. But i woke up surly this morning. I regret my earlier post, but not my first. people should be aware its SAINT valentine's day. Tons of people don't even know. Try finding a card with "saint" on it. I'm all for celebrating love and companionship. I have the same thing about Easter when it becomes about the chocolate and not about the zombiefication of Jesus (lol jks of course). Christmas is a bit of a funny one because i happen to believe the contention that Jesus couldn't have been born in december. Halloween is about saints too. A hallow is a saint. I think we should celebrate Joan of Arc too, but that's just me.
