Vanilla Meet and Greet nights Melbourne.. do they exist?

June 08 2015

Hi everyone, We've been on the scene for about 8 months now and we've played with a few couples, but we are wanting to expand our swinging network and are finding that organising meet ups has been quite haphazard and more often than not ends up not happening. Life is busy, kids are a priority, people get sick, etc. I think life often gets in the way and good intentions end up empty handed. We were wondering if there are ever any events in Melbourne that are designed for swinging singles and couples to meet over dinner/drinks without it being an actual swinging party where people have sex. We definitely want to go to these parties down the track but only once we have more experience playing on our own first. If this type of meet up doesn't exist, would singles and couples in Melbourne be interested in going to something like this? To us, we feel like this type of event we could meet multiple people all at once and figure out who we want to play with and then we would have the awkward part out of the way with multiple people at the same time. Kind of like killing multiple birds with one stone. Thoughts?? Cheers,Bunnies.

We had such an event on the 23rd May. One hundred plus of us - singles and couples - got together for a social meet and greet at a CBD pub. It was a great night! These events are organised by RHP members not the site and are designed for everyone to meet lots of people at the one event. What you do afterwards is entirely up to you ;) There will be another one in late winter/early spring and it will be listed in the Events/Clubs section.

Organise a social night yourself. Make it a new couples drinks night. Put an event on the events page,do a forum post on it to get ppl to show interest. Being proactive in what you want actually makes it happen quicker.

Quoting 'Meeka100' Do a lot I young people attend? Or is it more an older crowd? In the past it has tended to be more of the older crowd, but we did have a good attendance of the under 28s this time round.

We organise regular events in the Melbourne CBD but they are aimed at the more mature end of the age spectrum (we originally had no restrictions but found it to be a more cohesive group when we tightened the eligibility a little). We found that it was best to organise our own-then we could ensure it was a couples only event (not over run with creepy guys). If you'd like some hints on how to go about organising one for the 20-45 age range we'd be happy to help!
