February 21 2012

Hi,We're new to RHP and just wondering if there are any other vegetarians/vegans on here? We've both been on/off vegan for more than 10 years and enjoy the increased energy and youthfulness the lifestyle provides. We'd love to hear from other veggos looking for friends or lovers, or anyone else interested in being veggo :)Cheers xo

I'm a meat eater. The bigger the meat, the more I can swallow. I also like a decent serve of spuds though. Beans do my head in. I love a firm bean. Not to mention abalone. Who doesn't delight in the texture and exotic taste of a fresh salty abalone? And snapper. Whoa. Oysters. Nom nom nom. Pie. I can whip up a pie like no othe man! I saw a recipe for stuffed vegetables the other day but I totally fucked it up. Hugs Stalky

Stalky you are obviously a meat and two veg man I see. Although glad to see you include some snapper in your diet. The key to a good healthy diet is fresh good food & variety! An Italian diet is good, Italians live longer for it. ;-) xx Meeka

Stalky have you ever tried Meeka's home made Spaghetti sauce? It's good... I will even provide the napkins so you can wipe your chin :p Sexyvegcouple, sorry I am not a vegetarian although I don't really eat that much meat. As for being a vegan, I couldn't live without diary products I don't think :) xx Meeka

13 years vegetarian, and about 7-8 years vegan in total (went back and forth a few times, but it's been over 4 years since I've been strictly vegan again).Stalky, unfortunately when you've been veg for this long, you get to know which junk food is vegan, and you get pretty good at baking, so it's definitely not a weight loss diet for me (without regular exercise I'd be a heifer).@Chilli, conversely, the worst I've ever tasted (and the only I refused to go near again) was from a guy with a VERY meaty diet (hungarian family). I'm not sure how big a part diet plays, but the association is there for me! I've dated plenty of meat-eaters and vegans alike since, and they've all been fine, but they definitely didn't have SUCH a meat-centric diet as he did! Also I've found the vegans kinda smell better naturally.Current boyfriend eats meat though, so I'm totally not biased! I like anyone who respects my choice to not eat meat/animal products, and in return I don't give them too much of a hard time about their diet ;)

Also my last serious boyfriend was vegan and 7 years older than me, but people kept asking me about my "younger man", so it definitely keeps you looking good!!!

I've been a non meat eater (mamals, birds & reptiles) for 30 years....but I love my eat seafood. People always think I'm younger, but that could be a coincidence...who knows? I believe you should eat what your body / instincts tells you....I never liked meat as a kid, so stopped eating it, but if that's your thing and you're comfortable with the paddock to plate process...fine!....no where near lacking in sexual drive and energy....rather the opposite!!! ....which is more often a problem than a gift.

You know when a guy's a bit toey they will say or fake just about anything for a root... But I think this one's the line for me... I don't think I could fake my way through veganism for a root. . (I know you weren't asking me to... just a self-observation, it'd be hard to fake my way through some grilled eggplant without looking around to see if there wasn't a thick juicy steak available)
