Verification of profile. Why not?

So theres a verification feature, that although not a sure thing, helps to show your profile is somewhat not a fake. Why is it that a lot of people don't verify their profile? We've encountered people at events who have unverified profiles . So we know not all unverified profiles are fake, but we still refuse communication (as do a lot of profiles here) with unverified accounts. Seems by not bothering to verify, a good proportion of the members may fail to connect with a match. Just puzzled as why anyone would avoid utilising this feature.

I have no trouble connecting and I see no need to verify myself, it’s just that simple. If I’m getting overlooked because of my lack of desire to conform to other people’s ideals that’s probably a good thing.

My singles profile isn't verified. By the time l realised what it was after l first joined l was already hosting pre-paid events where 100 plus people would give me money. But in saying that, l regularly attended parties and interstate meet and greets where people realised I'm as real as they come 🤣 The amount of verified profiles I've reported for using fake, non genuine or someone elses photos is ridiculous so I've never bothered to verify mine. I'm pretty sure I'm a thorn in admins side. I think I'm a good judge of character whether people are verified or not so l don't rely on it. Now, if l could just work out Facebook algorithms so my news feed isn't clogged with Ringers Western advertisements 🙄

We have verified ourselves several times but then it disappears so it’s a little annoying. Not sure if we currently are or not!

We've never got round to it and have no immediate intention of either. The number of profiles who choose to message us is about right for us. We've never really had an issue in working out who's real or fake so it's not something we even bother to consider. Each to their own though and depending on your goals here, you will likely find that there are hundreds of real unverified profiles you may miss out on. We're simply not keen to leave it to a check box on a profile to decide if we should meet someone. Our manual filtering also has us talking to verified nutters and fakes so use whatever system works for you

So I'm assuming the conclusion is that verification adds no guarantee that a profile is real. Shouldn't we just ask admin to remove the feature?
