What appropriate clothing for the gym

July 31 2014

We joined a new gym and some of the guys run and do their weights with out their shirts and some of the women wear short tights shorts and bikini tops. We were a bit taken a back, got us thinking what is appropriate and not appropriate for gyms, spas, saunas and pools

You are a swinging couple, like nudist beaches, bondage and spank parties..... ......but are a bit taken aback by certain gym wear? funniest thing I have read all day Appropriate wear at gyms, spa, saunas & pools....as little as you can get away with and what everyou feel comfortable in.

baby you can ware what ever you like and feel good in.. I tend to like to keep warm and covered in the gym to sweat more and keep body heat as long as I can personally with one singlet under one t shirt and one jumper on top that stays on most works outs in winter anyways, thats how I was trained and it stuck.. only thing is if you dont have the body for something too tight or too revealing please don't make other peoples eyes sore that and too much make up are probably the only thing Id say is inappropriate in a gym.

It depends on the dress code in your gym. I go to 2 gyms regularly and they have different dress code. One gym which I go to is quite strict as it is a proper fighting/self defence gym where I do my boxing and muay thai. You need to be dressed with at least a sports singlet on and boxing shorts/short skins. Something comfortable. Bikini tops are not advisable as it can get lost in the boxing ring - lots of moving around and quite physical. Lol. Or muay thai mats where the exercises are very strenuous (both warm up and sparring) and lots of kickings and padwork. We need to pad up on the top at times. Anyway, on both sports, you need proper support bras to stop the jiggling and focus on the exercise and fight rather than whether your boobies will pop out because I have seen it and it was hilarious and embarrasing to the novice attendee. I went up to her and told her to wear something more appropriate. With the other gym, I do weights and machines. I wear appropriate breathable running tops, good high impact sports bra and skins (short - long). When you run on the treadmill, not a safe thing to have your boobies jiggling so hard as it can cause a tear and also you can end up with saggy boobs. Not a good look. I dont mind men who take off their shirts after a long session in the weights and machines... all sweaty and muscles pumping.... But during workouts, nah. they should have their shirt on and wipe every station they have used as dont really want to use the sweat soaked (and sometime smelly) machine they say on. I always call them back and get them to wipe it, as per gym rules... Lol.

The hotter you are the less you SHOULD wear. The less hot you are the more you MUST wear haha - Posted from rhpmobile

Hotness scale. Lol. Will check that one when I get to the gym tonight. Lol Personally I dont pay too much attention to the hotness levels as I go to tge gym for the purpose of working out, noy showing off. The occasional perve at eyecandies is fun but am normally too buggered and too beaten up after 60minutes of hard sweaty boxing training for me to notice anything exciting. - Posted from rhpmobile

But mr hotty, that is why they are in tge gym. To work out the extra big mac or two they had and kudos for anyone looking after themselves by getting fit and healthy. And anyway, you'd be too busy checking yourself out and winking at yourself in the mirror to notice anybody else? ;-) cheerio - Posted from rhpmobile

I couldn't give a rat's ass what you wear to tge gym as long as yiu are there and working hard. If you workhard enough and have goals you want to hit go for it. who cares if you train in your tiara and in diapers, , as long as you get the full benefit and feel happy. Push yourself hard until to thw point you can't talk. Because if you are talkin' while pumpin', you ain't really workin'. Go girl. - Posted from rhpmobile

A fight gym or Crossfit box? That's pretty normal, or Lycra tops on guys at a fight gym (less matt burn if you're grappling) Powerlifting gym - topless guys wouldn't be so common but this and the cross fit place you'll see plenty of chalk covered hands. A regular gym - I'd say it's not the norm for guys to be shirtless, but girls in short shorts and sports bra/crop-tops... That's pretty normal. (Can't say I've seen any actual bikini tops at a gym before)

For God's sake deodorant is mandatory along with anything that will prevent black eyes :) AKA a crop top. - Posted from rhpmobile

Not strictly on topic but I do PT sessions at a local gym which is both a fighting and cross fit gym. When the fight men are training and writhing on the floor (I'm sure it actually has a name) sometimes they train shirtless on the mat. Or their tops come undone. I find it seriously erotic and the less clothes the better! Mary xx

I do not think we fully explained ourselves. We were just surprised when we walked into the gym and saw all this skin. Therefore just wandering who would have the confidence to wear little clothing to the gym or the public pool or to go to a nude yoga class. Would you be surprised if were on the treadmill and a guy jumped on the one next to you and took his shirt off and started running or a women jumped on in running bikini bottoms or you went to the public sauna and a girl just wore a small towel wrap around her with nothing else or wore a G-string etc.

The best part is he can keep running and I don't have to keep chasing him to have a perve, all so discretely of course. Lol. So which gym do you go btw? Hehe.

It's important not to leave perspiration all over the equipment. You might catch eboli or something. For this reason, towel, pants and shirt, shoes and sox, all for the mutual health benefits. - Posted from rhpmobile

Mary xx grappling :) last time I did a lot was in Vegas, quickly switched to long tights n top - it was fine around the pool, but when you go out at night the burns stick to your shirts/pants and its just uncomfortable until you're sloshed beyond feeling. If I had this hot nude or g-string gym I'd be maintaining my membership... unless there were too many "gettin shredded for Stereo bro" types around.

Mary xx In my fighting gym where the men do Grappling or BJJ, they wear thick Gis which is is quite protective against mat burns and helps in th throwing and grappling. they are heavy canvas Karate uniforms. Never shirtless. Dojo shirts when it is hot. Respect to the dojo and the arts. The men get very sweaty after all that grappling - legs and arms in the air and all over each other... yes, quite interesting to watch.
