...on season one of Black Sails last week...but so far it looks like crap. But, I can recommend The Americans...set in 1980's USA, it's a drama/thriller about a seemingly ordinary couple who are secretly Soviet sleeper agents in Reagans America and how they deal with normal family issues, alongside the KGB ones. Another goody is all three seasons of Hung...the tongue-in-cheek adventures of the high school teacher with a big dick, who turns to prostitution to help pay the bills .

That was a great episode of QI! Along with the medically proven method for curing hiccups, I also learnt where the expression 'blowing smoke up your ass' comes from. At one time it was thought to be the way to revive someone who had drowned!? All along the Thames river, there were these nifty devices which were basically a small set of bellows. The device had a compartment to put tobacco in which was then lit, and the rescuer popped the end of the bellows into the rescuee's rear end and pumped to blow the tobacco smoke into their ass. Who knew?

I don't watch a lot of TV but thanks to FetchTV I can watch the occasional show. Recent events with Bronnie and all the spin doctoring made me recall The Code. This story starts with some joy riding kids having a road crash and leads on to a plot with a heap of twists and turns and an attempt at a major political cover up. Not only was this great entertainment but it was frighteningly plausible.

I really enjoyed District 9, so I thought I'd give it a go...and yeah, I thought it worth it. I like this dirty, gritty Johannesburg of the near future that the director seems to like portraying. Or rather, I think it's believable and a fresh change from movies set in the USA that we see so much of.And after the credits rolled, I'm tempted to sample a Die Antwoord album now. Catchy...

I love all the great TV around at the moment... Such a different way to tell a story to a movie... The difference between a short story and a novel I guess. I loved glitch.. I binged watched it and got totally sucked in. I love that's it's Australian. I am so sick of competition shows, cooking, renovation, romance. So called 'reality' TV that is actually manufactured and directed by producers behind the camera. It is the worst! I would love to see more movie quality Aussie drama on the TV....I rarely watch TV live. I find it terrible. I stream what I want to watch when I want ....I gave up on the walking dead a few seasons ago. I was tied of the grimness and gore. Game of thrones is of course excellent. Haven't got into Vikings yet, but I am tempted reading other posts. I can't help watching good old bbc period dramas... Every single one... The more frills and parasols and brooding gentlemen the better....

Just finished re-watching 'Fringe' the other night: two of the three main characters are played by Australians (Anna Torv and John Noble), the brilliant chemistry between them and Joshua Jackson is amazing. It asks the questions, 'what would you do for those you love?' 'Are you willing to face the consequences of your actions?' and 'Just because you can do something, does that give you the right to do it?' All this wrapped around a storyline of science pushed to it's limits, both in terms of what is possible, and of what the creators of that science are willing to do. And LSD. Lots and lots of LSD.

I don't watch a lot of TV, however an eclectic mix of documentaries, debaucheries and dear-o-dear reality TV keeps things in perspective. As with anything in life, it's all about balance. FTR, I am quite enjoying the breasticle display on this season of the Bachelor ;) While I am not quite keeping up with any kardashians, I am most certainly a "well rounded" nerdy kinkster. :)

I bought arasons 1 and 2 and have googled the planned progress of the series. It was so dark and twisted and honestly the writer (given alot of free hand with it) didn't have a clie really where the storyline waams going. It should've been a mini series maybe 3 seasons. But it just left the avid viewer hanging. They shouldn't be allowed to sell Seasons 1&2 with no ending, it's criek and unusual torture. Patchwork my Uni-student Son to be has me on Piratebay, that's where I found it. Failing that I'll bring you a cooy on a stick to the Sydney M&G on Saturday 28th August. On Safari I watched Carnivale nearly ten years ago and forgot how pissed off I was when learning it had been cancelled. There were going to be six seasons but they say it cost too much to produce. I think it was probably ratings less than over half the viewers for season 2. I actually just watched a series called Witches of East End (thought it was a spoof on Witches of Eastwick). Anyway typically poor and obvious script and average acting like most that are based on young adult book series. It actually had some great ways it could have moved at the end of season 2 but it was cancelled due to poor ratings. My pet hate though as an animation and cartoon lover is cancellation due to lack of merchandise sold. Have had several animated series cancelled due to this. Woohoo rant over.

It's one of the brilliant things about social media is to be able to follow numerous sources.

For me the best thing the internet has brought to the fore is informative news. So many outlets for it if you search. But you still have to decide whether you are being told the complete truth unlike the mainstream or lamestream (yeah I liked that one VW) where you know the truth isn't the whole truth
