What does "drug and disease free only" really mean?

May 25 2011

Most of us will have something to the effect of "drug and disease free only" on our profiles, which seems either vague or discriminatory to me. Before I get started: if it means to you something more like " drug and disease free only" then I totally agree with you, those things are dangerous and make the person risky to be with. I'm interested in hearing if anyone has a broader definition, and why?For "drug-free": where do you draw the line? If the person smokes the occasional joint? If they take party drugs on some weekends? If they take something harder / more frequently but it doesn't interfere with their professional life? If they turn up high? For "disease-free": do you want to know a bit about their sexual history? Do you want them to have been tested recently regardless? For the record, I'm not asking because I'm a syphilitic crack addict or anything. I'm not particularly against drugs either, though I would not want to meet with an addict for fear of being mugged or robbed. Personally when I was younger I tried a variety of substances, had my fun, and moved on. "Drug-free" sort of offends me even though I know it shouldn't.Interested to hear what RHPers have to say about "drug and disease free" and what it means to them!

I take it to mean that they are drug and disease free unless they something along the lines .....of must be drug and disease free. Then I can get a little put out about it all. I am not asking them to furnish me a with a recent (as in same day) doctors certificate so for them to suggest that I may be less than clean is a little annoying. It is the same as some guys say things like "if you are clean down below....." There are no guarantees in life. Condoms only stop MOST of the diseases and not all and how doI know what the person was up to yesterday and with whom? My morning caffiene and evening glass of wine may be considered as a drug to some. After chatting for a while you tend to get a "feel" for the other person and know if they are a reasonably cautious or responsible person. Those of us who are responsible get tested regularly anyway and if someone turned up whacked off thier face....well, the play date wont be lasting long. It would be hello and goodbye. All you can do is use what precautions are available to you to keep yourself safe.

Quoting 'stalky'When people say Drug free... I'm assuming that they mean roofies, gbh, eckies, amyl nitrate.... all the typical sex party drugs. I assumed it meant intavenous drug use. As many STDs can also be spread by sharing needles, IV drug users would be at a greater risk of carrying them ?? xxx Cherry

Sorry but I think people who use that term are generally naive and talking shit ! . If you want to state you are STI free then tell me the date of your last test and fax me a copy of your results ! But... even with those results it doesn't mean you don't have Genital Warts or Herpes. Or you didn't catch something the last time you had unprotected sex or even had protected vaginal sex but unprotected ORAL sex. . It's just shows a lack of understanding. . As for drug free .... do you think I'm absolutely stupid ? I don't care what you write... I'll figure it out soon enough when we chat on cam at various times of the day and if you start sending me weird texts at 3am in the night. . I don't care if the person occasionally uses drugs... I care if you expect ME to use them with you or expect me to pay for your drug use. I care about how you recover and how you function on the crap. . Sooooo I'll choose a conversation any day over a one line statement. . Happy partying... Miss Saturn

Quoting 'cherrylips81' I assumed it meant intavenous drug use. As many STDs can also be spread by sharing needles, IV drug users would be at a greater risk of carrying them ?? xxx Cherry What you say about that risk is absolutely true, but if you're disease free.... then you're disease free. How you know with certainty that you're actually disease free is another question entirely. I only said what I did because people using sexual stimulants can be really annoying at times... For example, every week someone tries to jam a bottle of amyl under my nose just because they're using it. It doesn't worry me so much that they use it, but it's annoying because amyl will likely kill me with my hypertensive condition. So that's was my take on it. lolz Yes Meeka... I would have thought people were thinking about so called "recreational" drugs when they mean to exclude them.HugsStalky

Yeah sure fine...it's a throw away line, you know the kind?. | "This car was only ever driven by a little old lady on Sunday", | So what if that just happen to be when she did the weekly mule run for Pablo from Columbia and managed to outrun the cops every time. Most of them will still try to stop the car one more time before the fire a few warning shots through the door. | I know Jack and Jill...both of them talk shit but at least hers sounds slightly better to my ear. | Pass...just means you have nothing intelligent to say. | | At least lie and promise me you won't kill me in my sleep. Thanks.

May be valid to some extent but sounds a bit dated going back to the 1990s when adverts read: White couple D & D free, before aids etc and everyone having to be so politically correct. But recently a couple did say to us they only played when on estacy and expected their playmates to as well. Thats not where we want to go, so can see some merit in stating drug free, but to date it has not been an issue.

Oh boy, apparently RHP forum eats anything you put in square brackets. What I meant to write was: "if you consider it to mean '(addictive) drug and (transmittable) disease free' then I agree with you". Now I look a damned fool! It's great to hear that most of you are pretty open minded about both. I guess it's one of those things like "no time wasters" that probably speak more about us (that we get a lot of time wasters) than any specific requirement for the people who end up contacting us.

I find it very simple... to me drug and disease free means exactly that. NO stds... NO drugs at all. No social drugs, no joints, nothing.... no stds... no drugs. Medicine is a different thing, and we don't call pharmaceutical medicine "drugs". Drugs to me are recreational, habitual drugs that are a no no. Simple!
