In their own way.Stand ups however are a different breed. They go with the demographic of the average mug that attends, issues of the last year, or issues that are geographically centric, or if they are witty - the topic of the day. Those that persist and are received keep on doing what they do. It's a dog eat dog world. You don't get the laughs you don't get the gig. SOH in a relationship is completely different. Half the time sextera the joke's on them. Them being the one who seeks those who have a SOH however don't realise it when you do.Keep the wit going champ, someone will thank you for it

Men are not all "Stand up Comedians", they may have sense of humour but they have not been trained in a circus to make you laugh at all times or they can not make jokes about almost everything to keep you satisfied. Why not??

Couldn't agree more with OP.How dare these pesky women want their playmates to have a sense of humour?Next they'll want them to be able to deal with the reversals of life without a melt down.Next, they'll want them to be tolerant and easy-going. Fun to be with, even.The sooner the women of Australia realise that the only acceptable expression is a frown, the better.

Is this a new poster being nailed for having a gripe? Easy now peoples. OP, I get the bit about feeling like a performing monkey, but if the profile would read "looking for someone who likes to share a laugh" rather than "looking for someone who can make me laugh", it would make all the difference. Laughs are more easily come by when its a 2 way street, but the point is, without a bit of lightheartedness and ease, there's going to less chance of it progressing to hot and heavy. Being comfortable in your own skin is probably of primary importance, and focussing on the social side of meeting people, even though people are obviously advertising for sex partners here, is a way to take the pressure down and lift your success rate in my opinion. Hope that helps.

Ever since I can remember ' Ive had this tongue in cheek sense of humour I use when im relaxed and wanting to get to know someone. While most laugh and join in there are still some who must of been bought up sucking lemons.. In saying that, I pick my mark and act accordingly. Im definately not one of them outrages types who come on loud and strong laughing at their own jokes, I find that over bearing.. but I do manage to get the giggles going... thats what I like...

it's just women being sneaky....there is some evidencing that there is a correlation between high intelligence and the creation of humour...Benny Hill and Kevin Wilson are the possible exceptions of course

Ii read an article in playboy recently (yes i read the articles, they're better than FHM or Zoo actually as they are actual journalism, not top ten beer holders etc.) from gilbert gottfried who points out he's never got laid for being funny. He insists that it actually works the other way around. If she wants to get you into bed then she'll find anything you say funny. So if she wants you, then she will think you have a sense of humour, if she doesn't want you, then she probably thinks you have no sense of humour. I didn't entirely take it in on first reading, but having re-read it i now know to ask if she thinks I'm funny to see if i'm ever getting any. Now admittedly Gilbert Gottfried is one ugly bastard, but lets take Seth Rogan. I don't reckon before his rise to fame being funny would have got him laid either. you're either shaggable already at which point being funny must make you hilarious, or you're not shaggable at which point you're kinda funny, but not her kind of sense of humour.
