  Being used I don't mind so much. You usually know it's happening. You can stop when you feel you need to and maybe you like being used by the person who's doing the using?Being lied to is altogether another kettle of fish. You often don't know when it's happening and then when you do, you feel like a pap. Although the other person looks worse.It's worth pointing out people only ever lie though weakness or fear of something.

  as much as being lied to...or used, are both horrible places to be....combine the two, and i'm outta there... been there, done that, and have no intention of ever allowing anyone to take me there again......my take tho...is that you have to be 'lied to' for someone to 'use' you...no?

  We can handle being used as we tend to be too nice for our own good so we are used to it. But we class lying as an unforgivable sin. The sad thing is in most of the situations where people lie there wouldn't really be a huge fallout if the truth was told.   hate being lied to as ppl who r keen to play then say oh sorry we r taking a break then u findout that they r still playing ffs just say no be truthful liars usually get caught out

  One would expect a certain level of using and being used(for sex at least), it is a bonus if there is a level of respect and consideration on both sides. One would also expect some to lie as well, depending on the situation if one is happy to accept that situation(ie the other cheating on their partner) then it is the other person's problem not yours.

  Being used has two meanings IMO. One, when someone is taking what you're willing to give them for purely their own self-interest and offering little or nothing in return. This is not so bad when the boundaries are clear and agreed - it can be kind of thrilling for both parties :)   The other meaning is when someone lies or misrepresents their intentions to get something from you that you wouldn't give them under more honest circumstances. In this case lying and using someone is one and the same thing and it feels godawful to be on the receiving end. It's all too common, I think.   Be honest peeps, and be direct about it. It makes for a better world :)
