Is a pretty good sign that the compliment giver has an alternate intention.....usually a negative one- Posted from rhpmobile

I have always struggled with compliments . Just never felt comfortable for some reason. But not really a problem if you rarely get them I guess :)- Posted from rhpmobile

I always struggle when someone compliments me, in my mind I will often question it but I will always say thank you, will blush & then quickly change the subject lol- Posted from rhpmobile

I find the best way is to reply with a smile and "Thank you." whether or not you think you deserve the compliment. Better than the awkward blushing, shucks... I have found that is the best way to deal with compliments.

Must be exhausting being that negative. I hear by promise you from now on I will not compliment you ever again. Done!

My downfall. My complete and sometimes destructive inability to say no to hedonistic desires. I am such a slut.

Quoting 'sirlurkalot' Is a pretty good sign that the compliment giver has an alternate intention.....usually a negative one- Posted from rhpmobileIt depends on the delivery and how genuine I feel the person is. I always say thank you and usually blush, depending on what is being complimented.

I either do the blushing, aw shucks thing or go a bit arrogant. IE she says ' you're cute ', I respond ' yes, yes I am', with my best boyish smile. 😇

SirLirkAlot too negative mate... if everyone thought that way we would be living in a pretty miserable society where no one said anything positive or tried to pump up our friends/family tyres... The more compliments we give to our loved ones the more they will feel good about themselves... To give a compliment is to not receive anything for it... It's a flash, a feeling, a moment that you have to tried to express in words to a person... If its to gain something, then it is surely NOT a compliment!! You are a handsome man though.. lol

Twenty years ago I had trouble receiving compliments, now I love them and the giver will always get a big smile. A new female patient of mine (36) told me today she'd guessed my age at about 32, as I have great skin. Score! And no negative intention in sight.

My biggest downfall would be saying what I think without, well, thinking... In real life that is, where I'm hardly as nice as I pretend to be here.

There is a time and a place for it. When it happens in the work place I just cringe. Its not a mans domain either when this happens. Yeah my legs do happen to stand out a bit when I wear tight jeans and my breasts seem to cling to my tucked in shirt. But thats not the point.   Compliments make me feel uncomfortable in the workplace

Lol....it's also a good decoy in the mind of an unscrupulous person.... There's a classic saying....you'll always back a racehorse on its previous form..... That's hardly negative.....just real- Posted from rhpmobile

Have always struggled to accept compliments, and have responded to them very badly in the past which would of left the giver feeling very bad and foolish, learning to accept them is a huge task, and yes even if you don't agree just a simple thank you is always best.

I've learned to be gracious in my old age and politely say thank you when complimented... It's just good manners really. And my biggest downfall it that I'm a total bitch. Awful when people find out. No filter b/w brain and mouth. Lol

If I gave you a $50 note and sent you off down a main street of any city here in Aus, telling you to give that $50 to a stranger (not a homeless person) and you'd think "Easy, the first stranger will snap it up"....You'd be wrong. People won't accept it as they think it's a set-up. A fraudulent note? "Where's the camera watching this"? Why me? E.T.C.Try it....Now accepting a compliment or not being comfortable receiving one...Has more to do with you and your self worth value, in my opinion of course, and ulterior motive being the source of your angst...surely that comes to light after the event?

For me it depends on the delivery. Catching a cute girl checking my ass out, I can take those compliments all day. Yet the up front variety can be a little confronting. Sometimes I think it's not just a case of self worth but not wanting to look arrogant and vain. "I think you look hot", "yea, der, it's plainly obvious". Also, in accepting a compliment are you also excepting a sexual advance? Since that is how some men take it when dishing out compliments. CBF
