What scares you the most!

April 19 2010

Good to know nature has more power in the terrorism stake. A volcano can ground the world airlines much long than Sept 11. This got me thinking (yes a dangerous thing ) what scares you most. For me it is anal sex (receiving) it just isn't going to happen Ciao Hermes

The worst thing about most peoples fear of spiders is that it stems from a pathological phobia, rather than a rational fear. It's an irrational response to stimulus for most, myself included. I see a Spider and I know that, rationally, it is not going to harm me and that I am far more lethal to it than it is to me, but it doesn't stop my brain from cinching up and jumping to alert mode. Hard as hell to slowly recondition myself to suppress this response.I think it's because humans, as a creature that have grown and evolved on this planet, innately recognise when something is not of this world. We are afraid of spiders because we know that they do not come from this planet. It's the people who aren't afraid of spiders you have to watch out for. The aliens have already gotten to them.

And here I was thinking you were a big brave man...all my fantasies of you chasing the huntsmen for me have just evaporated. Hmmm, wouldn't mind you running round my house naked though!!! (I swear I'll make sure there are no spiders to frighten you). Must admit I don't like spiders either. Was webcamming one day and saw a huntsman run down my bedroom wall. The person on the other end of the cam was lucky there was no sound. I squealed and took off like a shot...sure they saw a lot more of me during that fast crawl across the bed than they had when I had been lying in front of my webcam (no, not naked - get your thoughts out of the gutter!!!). xxJ

I used to read a lot of the greek mythology books when I was a tot - hydra, griffins, pegasi and cockatrices... so I think that is where my particular 'thing' about a torn Achilles came from... even just imagine being held there and dangled in a river makes me pucker up n wince. lolOther than that I can't think of anything thats evere really caused me worry.

Rats make my skin crawl. They make me want to cry, want to vomit, want to throw myself in front of an oncoming truck just to get away from them! Dead rats, live rats, rats in petshops... sorry, can't handle them at all. Give me snakes, spiders, sharks, moths and parking inspectors ANY day! Tinq

interesting thing...phobias and fears are very similar...and of course then we worry about our fears...do you realise that 97 % of the things we worry about never actually happen...now...if i can just find out what the 3% are...then i can focus all my worry there...cheersjose...

My wife cured me of my worst fear, before I met her whenever I had sex I'd make the lady shower and fully clean herself before I'd touch her again. It wasn't the thought of her being dirty it was the thought of me being in or on her that put me off.

Now I have kids I fear them getting hurt or worse, dead. Prior to that was really only a fear of dying slowly, like in a car crash. Comething long enough to feel but short enough that you couldn't say good by. Mate I take your point about phobias though and I have one of those, needles. I can overcome it when i need a shot but its a struggle.

Nah, she'll be fine Focus...Anyway...wouldn't it be worse if ya 9 yo brother died...Jose... Are you kidding me? Anyone who knows me knows that I REALLY dont want kids. Mum passing on before he is old enough to look after himself? Definately biggest fear Emotionally losing my brother is akin to losing mum but the implications of losing Mum scare me alot more than if I was to lose my brother. Simple really. Focus
