What's with v2.0 username trend?

  It's not too difficult to block private galleries or change names so I wouldn't think those are likely. But some likely factors are:1. Change of status - Single to Couple or vice versa appears to be not possible via the interface (I think it requires an email to mods)2. Lost password - Probably also solveable with an email to moderators3. Second thoughts after throwing all the toys out of the cot - I've seen some users say they have had enough sniping and leave in a blaze of glory and later slink back in with a new account because they deleted the old one4. Signup bonus - It is not unheard of for cheaper prices for new users but I haven't been paying attention to know if this is the case on this site.5. Unblock a profile you really wanted to stalk some more6. Reset your stats - It gets scary to see how many times I've logged into this site7. Get off a creepers hotlist/shortlist Or it could just be fashion - I've not followed it that closely.

Thus some add numbers etc. after their old name. you can't take a name that is currently in use - but if you changed the name, then the old one is no longer in use, so anyone could grab it. If you change your name before deleting the account, then you can always come back again with the same name you used to have. Changing the name to something old will also change the name on all your old posts in the forum when people look them up ON RHP - but if they used Google, then it will have whichever name was used when Google snagged the page - so old posts would have the old name, and then if someone clicked the link, it would show the new name.

  I'm one of those people that you're referring to - two name changes and two profiles since I've been on RHP :) When I first joined, my user name was just my first name and year of birth. A couple of years in, I was feeling whimsical/bored/restless so I changed my user name became Astrild - same profile though. At the end of 2015, I decided to take a break from RHP but wasn't sure for how long, so I hid my profile. When I decided to come back at the beginning of this year, I considered just resurrecting Astrild. Decided not to, because I was in a very different place (literally), and I was looking for something very different too. So ElkeM came into being :) On this profile my 'about me' is acut and paste from the Astrild profile, because I'm still the same person. However my'what I'm looking for' section is completely new and very different, as it should be be :) So there you have it - basically wanted a fresh(ish) start 🙂

  threw my toys out of the cot and ditched actually I had a broken heart and just wanted to become a Nun I think then thought wtf have I done (there goes my aspiration to be a Nun) and couldn't find a way to come back with that name, so added the number 2, which in my case gave a double meaning which worked, but I would have preferred to get my old name back. Soon after, it didn't bother me, I got used to the new one. I've since seen people change their names before ditching, but I didn't put any thought into what I was doing, I was devastated and needed to regroup. Wasn't long before I got back in the saddle haha ride em cowboy Then I think I ditched again, but was able to get my same name back, not sure how that happened but I was lucky, because I love my name. I hate guys calling me my real name. Thinking about changing my name in RL to this name or touchy, change surname to feely lolBut I_touch_myself3 just doesn't have the same ring to it. I_touch_myself4U isn't too bad, so that could be a MarkIV name. All good fun

  underscores are a pain, but without the name was already taken so put those in I like deepestpurple, great name, don't lose that one. If you throw your toys, DO NOT DELETE your profile

  The first time I was on here I was called Everyman, but then closed that up when I fell in love with someone in the analogue world. That lasted a couple of years, then went the way of the dodo so I returned, started a new profile, assumed the name Darkhorse. Stuck with that a while, fell in love again, closed my profile again. Relationship ran its course, she returned to Italy, I returned to RHP and assumed Rick_Blaine's identity. I like a fresh start.
