Who says 'Hun'?

December 12 2022

I'm curious to know whether the ladies on RHP use the word 'Hun' to refer to other ladies? Is this a thing? I have never heard it in real life. But it seems frequently used in messages on here. Because I don't hear it in real life, I'm starting to think it's a term cluelessly used by men to pose as women. Thoughts? I've been called 'sweets' and 'lovely' in real life but never hun. You might be thinking.... who the f*** cares? But I have a strong in sociology, language and cultural norms 🤓🤓🤓

HUN = Honey Just another slang pet name. IMO People like to be complimented. Pet names from strangers is kinda creepy. Wait till you come across PUD. 😁 Ms Foxy

I never liked the term " hun " .. Ive been called that and it irk's me no end..and lm male. l know its only a word ' but words can make you associate with other things.. Im not the type to give complementry names until lm truly familiar with the lady... i cringe when i hear some guys using 'babe ' baby ' and of course " hun " .. when they dont even know the lady... I dont know about females calling another female " hun " lve never heard that. But lm quite sure they would..

I;ve been called it many times over the years of being on this and similar sites. By both males and females. Predominently men though. It's not a term I like, same as being called dear. I think often men use it because they don't know your name so they feel they need to call you something, or they've forgotten your name, which does occasionally happen lol It's not a term I use have been called in RL

I don’t understand why people use such words (hun, darl, love, sweetie, babe, etc) when they have no connection or relationship to the person they are speaking it to. It’s an instant creeper alert RUN!!!

I normally use hun disingenuously when I want to seem nicer than I am, usually at work. I’m not really one for pet names unless I’m particularly close with someone and then it’s usually babe or boo or whatever rhymes with the other words I’m saying...oh, I use “done hun” 🙃

I don’t use pet names at all, irrespective of how well I know someone. Instead I prefer to use strictly formal salutations such Miss, Ms, Mrs and Mr, as I find something about such titles incredibly fucking hot given the context. Xx Obi1

Some people use innocent pet names innocently m, others maybe not so innocently but to judge someone purely on a very common and simple form of address probably reflects more negatively on you than on the other. I always have a chuckle when a 16yo cashier addresses me as love, sweetie, darl. Ffs has everyone lost their sense of humour “look at moi”

My bestie (woman) calls me hun in messages & real life. I'm not a fan of it 😆 Alex has a woman who calls him hun in messages & real life too. He's not a fan either 😂 It's not common for us though. - Margo.

I detest "Hun" as a pet name. I don't ever use it. I find most women online and IRL will use it.... Baffles me why. In real life and online I avoid pet names because they are totally cringe.

Yes to people I am close to who are women. Never to someone I don't know well. I'm a fan of nicknames for my friends and kids. We like to say it as a joke. I accidentally called my barista hun the other day and then apologised to him awkwardly.

It’s all so personal . I don’t use hun , Babe etc etc for my friends . I most certainly don’t use it with online . I find it cringe worthy . During chat I’ve asked people to stop using hun , babe etc and they seem to persist . I think they feel it’s endearing . Ax

"Hun" or "hon" is simply an abbreviation or phonetic abbreviation of "honey" so it seems quite odd that you have never heard it in public. Come stand next to me sometimes and you will hear it frequently.
