Why is it?

September 01 2015

I am a fairly new contributor to the forum here that RHP has so lovingly supplied to us here. I have always enjoyed reading the forum's.Lately I find it quite disconcerting that a select few people seem to want to rip peoples questions to shreds and analyse every word written with great gusto when all these people are seeking is different opinions on a subject and not having themselves or there choices picked to pieces and there profiles torn apart so they can find one little thing to pick them apart on. When if you read there profiles it they have usually used the " quote " from the profile and it usually is in context of what is written there. All i'm saying is when people ask for advice dont go out of your way to analyse every small thing they have written go with the spirit of the question and offer your advice if you have any freely give it, if you don't have anything constructive to add don't. People ask for advice when they are at a hard spot or needing the opinions of others and belittling them just makes you seem well for better words "like a dick". Just my two cents for what it's worth. Mr TwosomePlus. 😊 - Posted from rhpmobile

Why do people post the way they do?...because they can and its in their nature ..the good.the bad,the verbose, the self important, the insensitive, the judgemental ,the wise.the compassionate etc,etc....it's a public forum, asking for help here is a bit like taking of your clothes in the Main Street 😱😱😱xxFreya

Dont expect nodding heads all round. Some people, well, a certain subject may hit a personal nerve. Others might look at it in a humorous way, but we will all have different opinions and thoughts. Thats why the forums are so addictive, the diversity of the replies. As I shuffle off to to tonights Forumites Anonymous meeting .......

there's an expectation for me to piss in someone's pockets...they should try paying me lol I voice my opinion and I make judgements just the same as we all do....even you OP....diverse opinions aren't always going to be sugary goodness of glitter and flower filled meadows of warm fuzzy's..... - Posted from rhpmobile

If you want to play, be prepared! I remember my first forum topic and I got attacked by a few people....I was initially upset but then I put it into context and realized that in life there will always be those types! So I respond with humour and affection as that is my nature and it seems to put people off attacking you again. Getting angry back doesn't get you anywhere, and you are just feeding the fire which is exactly what they want! There are many awesome people that engage in the forums, so I'm not about to let the angry heads put me off. And even the argumentative types raise valid opinions, you just need to be able to accept other peoples view points. Isn't the whole point of forums to engage in discussion? If we all had the same opinion how boring would it be? Though I must admit, I am a shit stirrer at times, but some people need to be exposed for the bigots they are!

Why is it ? Sometimes it's worthwhile seeing how the OP handles them selves when points they have made in attempts to convince, sound dodgy.

I just posted this on another thread to a male member: "Please do remember by posting things here about your private life, marriage, wants and needs, etc. you make it the other forumites' business. (...) People not agreeing with you and forming their opinions opinions is a risk everyone takes when posting on these forums. Best you can do imo is consider the responses you got, think if you perhaps came across in a way you didn't intend, rephrase if you feel the need to, and take suggestions on board or ignore them as you see fit. Only you know the whole story, the rest of us can only go by what (and how) you've written so far. I do hear what you're saying though, and sometimes it's annoying when someone asking a simple question doesn't even get an answer to it because some of us are to busy critiquing their profile, intentions or lifestyle choices. Point taken.

already got the diversity of opinion you need, above. My only add on is that we're all unique creatures, and we all have our own views on things. Some we'll agree with, others we won't, and sometimes even stand the middle ground. And then some will just intentionally want to shit-stir and get you goat up, no matter what is said. You'll soon get used as to who is whom. Tall

We answer. And maybe someone will respond with something outside the box and surprise you with an angle you had never considered. Sometimes someone will go beyond the nice play boundary. But they will be inevitably pulled up by others. You need to look past the negative and take what you need from the general consensus. Simples.... Now having studied your profile.......

... an OP is full of contradictions and sometimes an OP is so caught up in their own perspective that they can't see what appears to be an obvious answer within or stemming from their own OP. If I'm posting under those circumstances, it's not meant as criticism, judgement or even with an intention or expectation to change anyone's mind - it's coming from a different outlook that may or may not be taken on board.

Most if not all of the regular posters (people) that contribute to the forums, have shared something of a personal nature, of them selves and we are all vulnerable by doing so, all have been under fire at times and many many things misread, misunderstood and often it's a conversation by several posts back and forth before some clarity takes shape and form as to the person and the question, intent or agenda. Get a bloke asking in a round about way , how to con a woman into fucking me, Who can help? can be put surrounded by bullshit and roses, but that is what our instincts, gut feelings and care comes in, not for the question but for the intensions which in this example is 'her' a person and unaware.

yep when you put it out there then you should be prepared to hear an answer that you may not agree on and have the humility to see to see other peoples viewpoints instead off thinking tour always right. If people take the attacking too far, just like sometimes happens in life you have the option of standing up or ignore with a glass full approach. Either is totally valid but just remember that sometimes a step back from the keyboard is also a good thing too. Cheers W - Posted from rhpmobile

Forum baiting and trolling are amusing pastimes. Welcome to the interwebz. If your ego is fragile or your balls too small to cope with a bit of criticism - then don't play in the sand pits As for the "if you don't have anything constructive to add " rubbish. This is an open forum. You don't get to dictate to people how they must respond. We are not here to hold your hand, sing kumbaya, and give you the anwers you want to hear. Xeena ( being a dick)
