Worth the wait

March 06 2013

The longer you have to wait for something, the more you will appreciate it when it finally arrives. The harder you have to fight for something, the more priceless it will become once you achieve it. And the more pain you have to endure on your journey, the sweeter the arrival at your destination. All good things are worth waiting for and worth fighting for.....

Sounds anathema to modern life, doesn't it. I want it now, on my 90" tv... - Posted from rhpmobile

noooooo...although,mmm maybe you have a point Cheeky, the anticipation is often as pleasurable as the having....I don't think I fight for anything for me,if it happens it happens...I will fight for others though...that's when I channel my inner warrior...painful lessons it's true ,often bring insight and clarity, but I enjoy having a peaceful life...just being, is sometimes enough.

This is the old argument of value and achievement. The more something is desired, the longer and harder the struggle to reach the goal... the greater its value to us.DG

Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.- Napoleon Hill For anything worth having one must pay the price; and the price is always work, patience, love, self-sacrifice - no paper currency, no promises to pay, but the gold of real service.- John Burroughs

The excitement of the waiting outweighs the pleasure of the having. I hate it when poeple tell me what they are getting me for a gift. I love surprises. Peachy

I think, for me, the proof is in the pudding. Not in the time taken to bake it.I'm not too convinced that waiting or fighting for something makes me appreciate it any more than if it came easily or effortlessly? Depending on the situation I would be inclined to weigh the pros & cons. The trouble is knowing when something is really worth it in the first place? From my experience anything that involves waiting and fighting is usually painful and comes with no guarantees. As for destinations, do we ever truly arrive? For once we arrive over there, our there becomes our 'here', and we are off looking for another 'there' again. Often if I have to wait too long for something I just lose interest! There will always be situations that do require instant action. The ability to act on instinct, with passion and urgency, in the moment to get a result. Although I can be patient at times I am essentially a 'do it now' type person and if I ever suffer from procrastination 9 times out of 10 I'm angry.I once had a boyfriend who delayed gratification so much in every area of his/our life that I was starting to think he was saving up his karma brownie points to (for those who believe in reincarnation) take with him into his next life? He wasn't..... He was just being a controlling cunt!

Waiting...can be good and bad. I love surprises from waiting...that feeling is rather magical. When something arrives out of the blue, its sort if like empowering in a way . On the other hand... Waiting can be a cruel thing sometimes...like hope...that feeling of being disappointed is crushing when it doesn't arrive. Its true tho...good things do come to those who wait..I've waited a long time for great things. :-) Foxy- Posted from rhpmobile

I'm like you....loose interest if have to wait to long for something or someone.... I end up getting so frustrated......that annoys me...so I give up. Especially when it comes to waiting on a man I have interest in and would like to follow up seeing them again..3 days and I give up.. Foxy- Posted from rhpmobile
