X-rated fanfiction / slash fiction / femslash

During my perusal of the interwebz on the weekend I came across some rather good x-rated Harry Potter fanfic (I got to it via the comments on an article about 'knotting' in fanfic, and I'll leave you to google the delights of what that term means in context). It was all by one particular author and most in the form of slashfic with Harry and Draco Malfoy featuring prominently, but also some lesbian (femslash) and heterosexual stuff with other various characters as well. I'm not even a fan of Harry Potter but I know enough to be aware of most of the story-specific terms and characters. Must admit, I've read a bit of fanfic before but never got much out of it, but this stuff was pretty damn good and some of it - particularly the MMF action between Harry, Draco and Hermione - definitely got the juices flowing. Just wondering about others' thoughts about this type of written porn, whether you've read any and if so what you think about it. Do you find it too difficult to conceptualise the characters in these sexual situations, particularly if they originate from a story that has little or no sexual content, such as Harry Potter? (For those who may not be familiar with fanfic, there is also a lot of stuff based on real people - singers, actors, etc. I read a few on the weekend involving members of One Direction, which was....interesting, to put it mildly). Just a quick note...because some fanfic does involve sexual acts that may be technically illegal or somewhat 'controversial', please try to refrain from referring to these acts specifically so that this thread doesn't get canned by the mods. Haha I love Harry Potter so I might need to do some digging myself to find this. I wouldn't find it anymore difficult to imagine than any other erotica where I'm introduced to new characters and think it'd be more interesting than random characters. - Posted from rhpmobile
