  A friend of mine and I were attempting to out gross each other. The most disgusting thing I came up with was, "Hickeys on haemorroids." He countered with, "Watching the sweat roll down your Grandmother's back while you're breaking in her arse."

  For me the punchline is at Pistorius' expense (and his apparently ridiculous defence,) rather than that poor girl.   Then again, my initial reaction was probably more a gut response than a critique of the humour's mechanics. Poor taste doesn't tend to shock me much, unless it's coming from a darker place (like implicit support of racism or some such.)

  It amazes me that the offensiveness of a joke is relative to the elapsed time since the incident it refers to. No ne bats an eyelid anymore at Dingo jokes. I think the problem you're having here, Messolonghi, is that you were a week or two early.
