But believe it or not...not as celebrated here.................   So for me   A) What are your plans??   Absolutely nothing - again..............mmm oh yeah I get to watch all the attached girls at work get roses, bouquets, chocolates, bla bla bla and walking around looking mighty smug....................yeah yeah I admit Im jealous......still a few weeks off yet...who knows what could happen ? Shinas the Optimistic...     B) Best Love song??   The Blowers Daughter - Damien Rice - the last few lines are just devine and so true C) What does Valentines Day mean to you??   In all honesty makes me thing of all the lovely Valentines days I had back home and how all the well known sites lite up in pink/red for the nite, like the Empire State Building..it is romantic watching lots of couples flock there - you know Affair To Remember, Sleepless in Seattle....yeahs its corny......still Im hopeless   D) Love it or hate it??   Love it when Im partnered, hate it when Im single     E) Best romantic thing you've received or done for that special someone? A few years ago..I had a steady FB who I admit I was falling for...Valentines Day came, but I did nothing..cause I didnt want to out myself...it was a Sunday and he had stayed over for the nite..I got up and made him a coffee, got back into bed and he had meanwhile slipped a romantic card under my pillow...I read it and it blew me away cause he put it all out there...he even wrote the line..."I miss you even when your in the next room" - instant panic.....shit I had nothing.........   Waited till he got in the shower....flew into my office...did a quick google of great love poems.......cut, pasted... thank god for colored printers and left over fancy paper from someones bloody invite to something...(and yes he loved long showers) mad printing, folding, cutting..etc...presto instant romantic, soppy card.....stragetically positioned on me..big surprise when he finally got out of shower............................................he needed another shower later on..well we both did.... but yeah..we finally laid it on the line how we both felt...........................................         MMMMmmm now we are against each other in a court case............ah go figure !!!

It's all about love for me, but I've never been good at occasions. The expectation of birthdays, anniversaries, valentine's day etc just feel too heavy for me. I'm more of a day-to-day, spontaneous acts of love and appreciation kind of girl. I have a general aversion for the tired old 'getting dressed up and going for dinner'. I'd much rather get naked and go skinny dipping on the spur of the moment. Or fly somewhere. Anywhere, as long as it was an adventure it would be romantic. So usually V day passes by uneventfully. But if a beautiful man came along who made me swoon and who was into it I'd be super happy to be completely spoiled ;) I'd return the favour with simple treats like lots if massage and lots of sex. My plans this v day are to distract myself from thinking about te man I love who is not in my life. Best love song? So, so many. I'm deeply sensitive and music often makes me cry. I'm drawn to all love songs (such a soppy woman!) but one of my faves of all time is Moondance by Van Morrison :) Jack Johnson writes so many beautiful love songs, all for the one purpose of sweeping his wife off her feet again and again. That man is in love and it shines through every song. Beautiful to listen to, gorgeous to make love to :)

Romantic thing i have ever done was two can't split them, first got the piano man to sing Elton johns blue eyes to my then girlfriend who was seated next to him on his bench right in front of the piano, this guy had the most amazing voice, the song, music, atmosphere and gesture on my part bought her to tears, happy tears of course.Secondly i hired out a limo, picked up my girlfriend from her place, booked a resturant underneath the harbour bridge, and yes we got da table right next to da window, finished dinner walked out side to get a cab but not just any old taxi it was a water taxi,we then went on a romantic cruise up the harbour just the two of us and got dropped off at darling harbour, were we found a really nice bar and danced the night away to the sun came up,ahhhhhhhh those were the days, jsk

I know a little about what you are feeling. Big hugs to you my dear and thank you for your honesty. My first husband died on the 10th of February, although I was leaving and had been contemplating it for some time it does not mean I did not have wonderful memories of a person I once loved and shared a large part of my life and a son with. Your pain I imagine is tenfold to mine ... Thinking of you. x

Giving thanks or giving head??? Lol   Thanks Shinas, yes time does lessen the pain. I never had the opportunity to talk about my situation much, so much guilt surrounding it. It has been very cathartic to get it out there. Sorry to hear you too are mourning a lost love. x

    A) What are your plans??Like Shinas said before, I tend to be jealous or teary if I see girls attached to their guys and that guys gives something special to their partner.... so to answer this question: Probably nothing... B) Best Love song?? I do not know any songs nor have any favourite ones as I am DeafC) What does Valentines Day mean to you?? Absolutely nothing as I think it is kinda overratedD) Love it or hate it??Hate it, especially hate it when I am single :(I guess I am used to who I am now, being as single and never been in a relationship. Dont ask, as it is my least question :sE) Best romantic thing you've received or done for that special someone?Hmmm, my best memorable was that something back at High school when we (all of the Deaf girls/ friends) were about 14-15 years old; we got an announcement through the speaker saying that all of us girls had to attend to the reception to pick up something there. When we went there, we all received a Valentine's Day card, saying something like "Be my Valentine, love from Secret Admirer" or something similar. Every one of us started pointing to each other whether we wrote that or whether one of our sign language interpreters wrote that. It was funny and somewhat special at that time, however we still do not know who wrote that from many years ago! Nice memory at that time, though :)s3d :) xxx

I dont believe in Valentines Day for the fact that it stipulates LOOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEE (As you put it fox) is to be shown on that day.Firstly love should always been shown, regardless of date, anniversaries, coz u feeling frisky, or what so ever....Also, and this maybe me personally, but I like to surprise more than anything. So if I gave flowers, lively it will be on different days as appose to the same old routine. I also believe that it should not be a guy only give day, so I had once implied to a person I was seeing that we would take it in turns. I went first, and it did not last til the second.. jibbed!A- No Plans... unless u wanna make plans with me fox? ;)B- So so many old classics, but to remain current "Thousand Years"C- Read Above... please :)D- Hate itE- I made a full french 3 course meal (all from scratch), set up the dining room with 2 packed of those 100 tea light candles from all over the table and the floor. It was cleared with a walk way from the front door to her seat. After dinner, a hot bath with Kenny G music played and more candles all around the bathroom.Thats a short one. The other was better but way to much to type.

Single or attached it hasnt been a great day for me. Yep I do get a little jealous of the girls who get flowers at work. But its only for a day and then I am over it. Was thinking that this year I may stir the pot at work and secretly send flowers to some people.......we have a few married people at work and it would be fun to see how the spouse reacts when the other person gets flowers and they know damm well they didnt send them. Bitchy I know but thats what V day does to me. Now if I had a romanticly inclined partner I am sure I would feel different. Love song - Unchained melody   And to the ladies that have bad memories of the day and lost loves, your stories really touched me. I hope you can try to remember the good things this year and celebrate that love you once had. x

Say to Funloving and Saskia, thank you both for sharing your stories. Funloving, I am deeply touched by your story and in your words, feel strongly the love you shared with your partner. I can't stop thinking about how you must have felt when you received the news and I wonder how you survived.Saskia, how awful for you to carry that guilt and not be able to speak about it. And for all of you who have shared your sadness about Valentines Day, I appreciate hearing your realities and I am moved by your sharing.I am totally distracted from the questions now OP, sorry.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I see it as a Hallmark Holiday.Sure as hell, I don't need a day set aside to do something romantic for whomever happens to be my special person at the time. So, with that in mind,A) I have no plans.B) Favourite love song "Feel like making love", Bad Company.C) Bugger all.D) A big "MEH!"E) Not gonna give away my secrets.....could well do it again

Well I love it!!!! It doesnt have to be about spending money, I always try to do something different for the man of the moment, like a heart shaped chocolate cake, or heart shaped pasta for dinner ( yes they do make is especially for Vday) a hand written poem/verse, a surprise romantic picnic, a chocolate heart in his lunch esky, which he doesnt find till lunch time with the blokes, there are heaps of things to do!! One of the best gifts ive received many moons ago were 2 Peach Faces "love Birds"in a cage. Once I organised a "cupid"all dressed up to arrive at my bf's door with chokkies...... I hope you all celebrate and remember in your own special ways

To be honest..... I've never ever been in Love...its true!! I know what unconditional love is and feel that every day from my daughter, friends and family... Never been romanced like others have mentioned....yep that's true! I know love is beautiful as I see in with some couples... Love should be everyday not once a year... My Valentines day this year my daughter and I are going to buy each other gifts of popcorn, ice cream and chocolate and watching Bridget Jones Diary. :-) Favorite song....All by myself (don't know who sings it) Big Hugs to all in Love.... - Posted from rhpmobile
