  Yes, there are, but only very occasionally. What usually happens is there is a lot of initial interest. Then when plans begin to take shape and a date is set, there will be those that can & cannot make it. When the event gets closer, there will be last minute cancellations, not to mention no shows on the day itself. So a party may become just a very small group of like minded friends. Not saying that that is not a good thing, or that there are not valid reasons for people not attending, but perhaps it is better to simply plan a small gathering to begin with, with people that each can be vouched for.....
